Torry Holt was a 1998 Associated Press, Football Writers Association of America, American Football Coaches Association, The Sporting News and Football News All-American.He was not, however, a Walter Camp All-American.That's good enough to be called a Consensus All-American. Apparently you only need more than half of the organizations (minus Football News, screw those guys) listed above.[Edited on December 9, 2011 at 5:47 PM. Reason : WC A-A went to Troy Edwards (Louisiana Tech) and Peter Warrick (FSU) that year]

i was gonna say i remember Mario being an All Americanyou'd think the only ACC player taken 1st overall in the NFL draft would be one of the better college players in the nation the previous season...]

Is Rivers the only Ring Of Honor name that's not on that list?
12/9/2011 6:24:57 PM
I believe so. Rivers probably got his number retired because of all the records he set. He would later go on to be named 2004 ACC Athlete of the Year.Accolades2000 ACC Rookie of the Year2000 ACC Academic All-ACC Performer2000 Football News and Columbus Touchdown Club Freshman of the Year2000 ABC Sports Newcomer of the YearMVP of the 2000 Micronpc.com Bowl2001 Honorable Mention All-ACCOffensive MVP of the 2001 Tangerine BowlMVP of the 2002 Gator Bowl2002 2nd Team All-ACC7th in Heisman voting2003 ACC Player-of-the-Year (unanimous)2003 ACC Offensive Player of the Year (unanimous)2003 1st Team All-ACC (unanimous)MVP 2003 Tangerine BowlMVP of the 2004 Senior Bowl2004 ACC Athlete of the Year

So...what's the deal with all-time records? We know he has the ACC single season record for ints. What about the NCAA single season record?[Edited on December 27, 2011 at 11:58 PM. Reason : Google says he is second all-time if that's correct]

Excellent quote from Huffington Post article on Amerson

12/28/2011 9:21:05 PM
^^^hahahah
12/28/2011 10:16:38 PM
Amerson had 205 yards on 13 interceptions (16 yards per interception), including 2 pick sixes.
12/28/2011 10:58:52 PM
Anybody know how many times UL threw at amerson last night? I only saw two
12/28/2011 11:16:43 PM
didnt count but he had 5 tackles so I'd wager more than 2
12/28/2011 11:19:42 PM
Nah. I know he had at least one tackle on an outside run.
12/28/2011 11:20:58 PM
They threw some short/underneath routes to his side as well.
12/28/2011 11:27:10 PM
12/28/2011 11:54:38 PM
haha yea, they threw at him once and completed.. and they're like 'ok maybe this guy isn't so bad, lets try it again', and i believe it was the very next play that amerson had the pick-6.if i remember correctly, maryland didn't really go his way much. it'll be nice next year, all the offenses will have to keep track of where he is on the field. probably won't get anywhere near the same number of INTs, though.
12/29/2011 12:50:49 AM
^Maryland ran a double move on Amerson and got a wide open TD. MD game was not exactly a bright spot for the defense
12/29/2011 12:57:56 AM
Good point... I must've blocked the first half from my mind
