ya, this is much better than ben living with his dead family thinking they were still alive. I was getting tired of him being so naive

Whaaaaat????NOOOOOOO!!!! DO NOT WANT!heh, I kept thinking that this episode ended like 3 times before it actually did Poor Tate. Well not poor Tate. . . but yeah, poor Tate.
12/23/2011 8:12:33 AM
theres still way too much left to explore to drop the whole story line
12/23/2011 12:45:48 PM
If that's what they're doing I'm actually OK with it.I don't think there's way too much left to explore. Most of the storylines had pretty legitimate endings.I don't want to see an entire season of the Harmons scaring off house-buyers or the writers scrambling to come up with good ghosts vs. evil ghosts conflict. The Harmons are all dead and happy, violet told Tate goodbye, Tate's son is in fact evil, good finale.[Edited on December 23, 2011 at 10:55 PM. Because the producers trust them.Same reason certain directors use the same actors in all of their films.
12/24/2011 1:55:31 AM
but in a television series? it doesn't translate.
12/24/2011 2:47:00 AM
Garret Dillahunt played two different roles on Deadwood and that worked out fine. That said, Ryan Murphy's shows are like a steaming pile of ursine excrement compared to David Milch's shows.
12/24/2011 8:12:47 AM
i don't know WTF y'all are whining about.why be like every other series and continue dragging out story lines? this first season was fantastic and i love that they're going to go with a new story line in season 2.what "unanswered questions" are there? christ.
12/24/2011 9:20:30 PM
I, for one, would like to know more on the "devil child"
12/24/2011 9:28:09 PM
i figured we already knew how that turned out by the preexisting legend.... or religious belief, however you look at what their twist on it would have been.what are they going to do? 4 more seasons of "The Omen"? Constance is finally going to get famous raising the antichrist.... meh.i like that they didn't struggle with some over-extended series and instead will open themselves up for an expanded audience since people can jump right in, which will hopefully ensure the longevity of the series if they continue to put out quality product like this.
12/24/2011 10:14:56 PM
ya, I'm coming around to the idea
12/24/2011 10:55:34 PM
It'd be pretty great if they abandon the house entirely.
12/25/2011 12:48:12 AM
they will be
12/25/2011 12:43:05 PM
it sounds like they are going for a Steven King Creepshow-type thing...only each "short story" is an entire season instead of a single episode...they all had detailed characters and plots...and a resolution...sort of...usually the very ending scene of each story would have some sort of cliff hanger which was never to be resolved...they also cross-used actors/characters/props/etc between stories...there was nothing cohesive about these things in any story but you would notice them...i still find it strange that the only things to bother me with this show were a) the babies being so big days after birth and b) that the ghosts could change clothes [Edited on December 27, 2011 at 8:12 AM. Reason : but the people making this show aren't steven king and george romero...so who knows]
12/27/2011 8:11:00 AM
I watched the first season on Netflix over the weekend (for the first time). I really enjoyed it... i think I enjoyed it more watching the episodes consecutively than i would have watching them week to week.
5/13/2013 1:17:34 PM
I hadn't planned on ever getting into this but I was so intrigued by the freak show concept (big fan of Tod Browning's "Freaks") that I wanted to go back and see the previous AHS seasons. I'm halfway done with the first season and am really enjoying it. Agree that it is way better to marathon it than it would have been week-to-week.
10/8/2014 8:00:24 PM
I really want the new one to be good (1984), i'm a fan of the classic horror slashers from the 80s, but I haven't been able to get through more than a few episodes of the last 7 seasons
9/20/2019 10:05:22 AM
It goes way downhill after Murder House.
9/20/2019 10:09:35 AM
Murder House - fantasticAsylum - pretty good, would have been more enjoyable if there had been fewer story threadsCoven - Certain parts are great, definitely the funniest season if that makes sense to have in a horror show, but overall kinda mehFreak Show - The clown was AMAZING. Everything else wasn't worth the time.Hotel - Liked it a lot! The noir detective style works for me. The characters were the most interesting and flushed out of any other season.Roanoke - Soooooo boooooring. Stopped watching after four episodes.Have not watched Cult or Apocalypse, but I hear they try to tie all the other seasons together?
9/20/2019 11:30:06 AM
Maybe this is a silly gripe, but I was taken out of Roanoke the minute I saw California mountains in the show. Maybe folks from NC were the only ones to notice, but it just kinda irritated me that they couldn't even bother to make it look like the coastal plains of NC.I also have the same gripe about Disney's Pocahontas. I don't know where that cartoon takes place, but it certainly isn't coastal VA.

Watched 1984 last night. I just dont know [Edited on September 20, 2019 at 11:43 AM. Reason : s]

^^that actually hit me as well. It was as if they went out of their way to put a mountain on a costal plain. They could have easily shot those scenes of the house without the wide view that included that huge mountain behind it. I also think that last season should have ended it. they fully brought things together and timeboxed the series with a new anti-christ besides Michael at a particular date and time.I just watched the 1984 trailer and there's nothing there for me. I feel like they're trying to capitalize on all the nostalgia based shows right now and attract viewers that way but the trailer was really choppy and not typical AHS themed. [Edited on September 20, 2019 at 2:11 PM. Reason : trailer]

^I watched the first episode and that is exactly what they are doing. 80s nostalgia all over the place, but not as good as just watching a Friday the 13th movie. It does have Skinner from the X-Files playing the villain though.

It was silly, but I enjoyed it. Being a kid of the 80s, I enjoy the nostalgia. And I like the references to other movies (all the crazies running around in the rain at the asylum, just like the beginning of the original Halloween).^^I like the Friday the 13ths, have all them all on DVD, but most of them are actually pretty terrible movies.
9/24/2019 10:16:34 AM
^True, I did like the references to other slasher movies, down to the killer's doctor being a bald guy like Dr. Loomis. And yes, most of them are pretty bad, but to the point where they aren't scary anymore. The early ones (especially Part 5) are more of a "WTF were they thinking???" and after that is when you just start cheering for Jason.
