My immediate reaction after the amazing ending with the frame-within-a-frame shot of Walt and the incredibly tense white noise: FUCK, I can't believe I have to wait a whole week to see what happens with this. AND this show (unlike HBO shows like The Wire and The Sopranos, which put the most climactic events in the penultimate episodes of seasons typically) usually has a lot happen in its season finales. So I imagine the wait between next week's episode and the season finale will be just as brutal.I think Walt might kill Jesse. It's really his only play right now, unless he can somehow manage to kill Gus (just don't see that happening). Jesse is probably being guarded right now by some of Gus' best muscle, but I still think Jesse will be a much easier target for Walt than Gus. If Walt kills Jesse, Gus can't kill Walt and he won't murder his family because then Walt wouldn't cook for him. I have a strong feeling that the end of this season will be extremely gut-wrenching.

Didn't Saul hook up Walt with Gus originally? It'd be a longshot (but this show is about as off-the-wall plotwise as any) but I wonder if Saul's allegiance is more to Gus than Walt and that business card for the witness protection guy might end up leading Walt+family into a trap with Gus' peopleI don't ever watch the 'next week' previews though so maybe something is shown that refutes that completelyalso, Saul is fairly quickminded, and I'd think he would have known that the 600k he gave to Skylar for Ted's mess would have brought the accounting numbers of Walt's total 'worth' from the meth-cooking down below the 'half-million' amount he somewhat-quoted the witness protection guy's fees as ....but that whole scene had so much haste that maybe he couldn't think about all that

I fell over laughing when Ted tripped and the two goons are just looking at each other like: "Whattdaya gonna do?"
9/26/2011 10:56:31 AM
I'm pretty positive Ted is dead. I thought they made it relatively clear. I have no idea what is going to happen next week, or the week after. This show is so freaking crazy. I do think Jessie is going to somehow sacrifice himself for Walt, either by getting himself killed to kill Gus, or by turning himself (and taking the blame as the cooker) to get Gus captured. So many different scenarios though, Walt could end up using the Cartel against Gus and cooking for them next season though I think that is a stretch. Actually the more I think about it the less likely I think there to be any real resolution to the Gus storyline. Only because I think the storyline is big enough that it has to continue into the final season. There are too many resolutions to the Gus storyline that I could see being used to end the show entirely.
9/26/2011 11:17:03 AM
when bill burr and the other guy were at Ted's making him write the check, my thoughts were that Ted was going to commit suicide as result...i just didnt expect it to happen like it did lol
9/26/2011 11:20:51 AM
This show is so much more epic when you watch all the seasons to present date within a few days. It's an amazing story being told over just a few months instead of years. To think where he started from and where its at now, its really crazy. I mean, its been what? 10 months of actual time passing?
9/26/2011 11:31:16 AM
^^^The writers went out of their way to have Saul not finish a sentence about Ted's fate.He may very well be dead, but we do not know at this point.
9/26/2011 2:02:10 PM
Bill Burr is one of my favorite comedians. it's fun to see him on the show, though he plays a character that's nothing like a comedian.Whenever Walt's back has been against the wall, he found a way to resolve it. I won't pretend to know what's going to happen, but i bet Walt's got something up his sleeve in next week's episode. also, i've never found Skyler attractive, but she was especially unattractive while looking down at Walt in the crawl-space at the end of the episode.
9/26/2011 6:00:50 PM
Wow my roommates are convinced that the exact opposite of what you guys are predicting will happen. We were thinking that jesse will get fed up and end up killing gus and mike and that walt may die in the shows finale whenever that is. Is this the last season btw?I'm Krallum and i approved this message.
9/26/2011 7:18:47 PM
mike's not going to die, superheroes don't die
9/26/2011 7:26:19 PM
^^two more seasons, but can't remember the amount of episodes in each

I can't believe what I just saw.I can't even speculate as to what will happen.Fuck.--They are doing a ton of hinting to the massive German corporation and Gus's very mysterious past. I can see that becoming a factor in future series...or maybe even this one.
9/26/2011 10:27:19 PM
Holy fuck that was an amazing episode...the last scene was an absolute stunner. Michael Slovis is a god damn genius, the scene with Walt out in the desert was gorgeous. I loved that Tyrus took so much pleasure in making Walt sit in dirty laundry, as well as in using the cattle prod on him. I wonder if the german conglomerate that Gus is associated with has ties to the third reich, considering Pinochet's Nazi sympathies.
9/26/2011 11:13:26 PM
It'd be funny if Tyrus ends up being a former student of Walt that he neglected/forgot about
9/26/2011 11:17:56 PM
Every time Walt has a moment of weakness, he comes back immediately with a moment of great strength. To me it's one of the continuing themes of the show. So sticking with that, how can Walt re-gain his power in the situation? He's gotta take it to Gus now, there's no running away and no turning back. Walt knows where Gus lives, that's a huge advantage. Why not blow up Gus's house? Walt's tried to turn Mike and Jesse against Gus and that didn't work. The only henchmen he could possibly summon would be Badger and Skinny P, what if Walt pays them to put a hit on Gus (he could play the card that Gus was the reason Combo got killed). Can't wait for the next two weeks!

* SPOILERS *So the last 15 minutes of Crawl Space was some of the most captivating storytelling I've ever seen on TV.Things really changed for me with regard to Gus. His delivery of that line to Walt, if Walt should interfere...combined with the unhinged look on his normally deadpan face...actually made me shift around on my couch. I no longer find myself pulling for him.Box Cutter seems like so long ago, that I somehow forgot that he truly is a sociopathic, murderous drug lord. Taking out the entire cartel leadership didn't register because that was for personal revenge and in the nature of his business, both of which I could understand.

My prediction: Hank already knows about Walt. He's not letting on, and the writers are keeping his mind locked out to us.He already knows, right now, and the last shot of the season finale will be something like: Hank - "so Walt, tell me about this ice you've been cooking."
9/27/2011 1:36:13 PM
^I mean, I think most people kind of suspect that Hank already knows about Walt...you'd be silly not to. If that does happen in the finale and it's supposed to be some sort of twist, I'd be disappointed because I'll have seen it coming from a mile away.EDIT: Actually, if it's done well, it can still be a cool way to end the season. I just hope they don't think their audience is too dumb to have seen that coming. I mean, at this point, Hank has to be pretty damn suspicious of Walt (which, of course, probably factored pretty majorly into his decision to take Walt off the case, so to speak).[Edited on September 27, 2011 at 2:59 PM. 9/27/2011 4:52:21 PM
^^Most do not. Nothing on the show has pushed us to conclude he knows. Quite the opposite actually. You and I are in the minority. ....but if it happens....what if hank says he wants in? ZOMG EPICLY BREAKING BAD
9/27/2011 11:08:54 PM
It's too bad they can't kill off Walt right now.Gus and Jesse are the protagonists. Walt is the antagonist.
9/28/2011 1:08:35 AM
skylar gettin fat
9/28/2011 1:21:14 AM
jesus gus is not a protagonist.i hope walt kills the shit out of him.walt is an anti-hero, not an antagonist.[Edited on September 28, 2011 at 6:32 PM. Reason : .]
9/28/2011 6:31:37 PM
You are nuts. Gus pulled himself up from a third world shithole and built a top not business, while walt is a middle class whiny bitch who is trying to ruin all that Gus built. Walt is clearly the villain. I'm rooting for Gus.
9/28/2011 9:08:31 PM
9/28/2011 11:08:15 PM
I'm rooting for Jesse
9/28/2011 11:09:49 PM
^^^while you are entitled to your opinion, you're wrong. and really stupid.
9/28/2011 11:26:47 PM
For the record, I don't think Hank knows about Walt.If the four seasons have supposedly taken place over 10 months, Skyler and Walter Junior look to have aged significantly in that time. Obviously it's harder to keep a teenager from appearing to age, but they haven't done a good job of it with Skyler for sure. Saul sure isn't getting any younger either for that matter.
9/28/2011 11:55:26 PM
^^^^^Sure, I sympathized with Gus for a hot second because his lover was murdered 20 years ago, but at the end of the day he is still a child-killing throat-cutting sociopath who just threatened to murder Walt's entire family. Gus is the antagonist currently. He was the protagonist of his own tiny Mexican subplot, but that subplot is over.Jesse will not "come around" like Gus hopes, he's still an innocent at heart. Walter is currently extremely dangerous as evidenced by his maniacal laughter.Jesse will probably help Walt kill Gus and then feel bad about it for a few episodes. Maybe Gus will turn on Jesse when he refuses to help kill crazy Walt.[Edited on September 29, 2011 at 2:58 AM. Reason : .]

10/3/2011 10:34:07 AM
I believe you're sort of wrong about that. I think Jesse's deviation from unwavering loyalty made him think, especially the request that Gus come to the hospital himself. It was behavior that was all very uncharacteristic of jesse and this raised alarm. That aside, Gus is a very very smart mother fucker.
10/3/2011 12:59:33 PM
wonder if Mike will show up in the finale
10/3/2011 1:04:16 PM
^He's got to come back into the picture at some point.Gotta say, as was pointed out in Sepinwall's episode review this week, I, too, found Gus' sudden spidey-sense a bit implausible. I really thought he was gonna spot Walt on the opposite ceiling. Solid episode, almost purely setup for what's sure to be an incredible finale to a great season.
10/3/2011 8:27:15 PM
Cranston will be on the Dan Patrick Show at some point this hour
10/4/2011 11:05:16 AM
^^^ The episode description in the cable listing said Walt finds an unlikely ally with Saul's help. I would guess that will be Mike.
10/4/2011 11:12:49 AM
or it could be the old guy in the rest home (can't think of his name)since he is already Gus' enemy(but Mike makes more sense, I just don't think they'd give that info away in an episode guide preview)[Edited on October 4, 2011 at 11:37 AM. Reason : ]

like ^^ implied, he could ring his bell to code a message revealing something about Gus' Chile stuff, or maybe he just has some documents hidden to make it easier
10/4/2011 1:45:37 PM
Wouldn't it make sense that if Gus has been one step ahead of Walter's every move - his words - that he has both Walt's and Jesse's place bugged to hell? I can't see how this hasn't even crossed the characters minds yet, even after the cigarette. Like they said they were the only two who knew about it, how else would Gus know so much. unless he is in fact a superhero.Edit - Walt did mention cameras but why then build what he did and act surprised at Gus' actions. "Oh yeah, I just said he might have cameras on us, should have built it in the shed..." [Edited on October 4, 2011 at 3:41 PM. Reason : .]

10/4/2011 3:44:51 PM
that's what I assumed had happened and I thought that's what Jesse assumed, toobut the timing of when he saw the kid and when he last saw the cigarette was all muddled in my head so I decided to not try to figure it out
10/4/2011 3:56:04 PM
kinda wish i didn't read that bit about walt finding an unlikely ally...that said, neither walt nor tio make any sense. as has been pointed out, tio can't really do a fucking thing to help walt immediately, and mike has no reason to turn on gus (and, if anyone remembers, in fact beat the shit out of walter last time he asked for his allegiance).plus, *WITH SAUL'S HELP*...why would he need saul's help to earn either tio's or mike's allegiance?[Edited on October 4, 2011 at 8:40 PM.
