[6]seeing it tonight (Thursday) at MV at midnight [Edited on July 14, 2011 at 4:20 AM. Reason : 6]

saw it last night - came out in australia on wednesday - very dark but great

Going with my wife to see it at midnight. What time should we get there? I don't necessarily have to be the first one in but I don't want a shitty seat either. She says 8, I think that's a bit extreme since we have tickets and they're showing it at like 9 different screens in the theater we're going to. But then again, I've never been to a midnight HP so I have no clue what's appropriate.
7/14/2011 8:06:37 AM
It's opening night for the LAST Harry Potter, 8-9 is appropriate, and you won't be the first ones there. Even if there are multiple theaters playing it, that'll just make the crowding worse, particularly if they're all sold out.
7/14/2011 8:16:48 AM
gf and i are going to see it at midnight as well.we figure we'll head over at about 10:30. Because we live in Apex, it probably won't be as crowded as, say, Crossroads...
7/14/2011 8:33:52 AM
I'll be at MV as well for the midnight showing
7/14/2011 11:35:10 AM
I want to see this soooooo bad. i would love to see the double feature but I don't want to pay for part 1 again. If it per chance were a double feature for the price of one, I would be down! I want to see them both together for sure!

Got tickets through Fandango to see it on Sunday (my birthday). Hopefully a 4pm showing won't be too bad, especially non-Imax, non-3d in a theatre that has showings for those as well.
7/14/2011 12:04:00 PM
Can't make it to the midnight showing because of a prior commitment and time conflict. But found out they're having a 3am showing...so going to be tired at work tomorrow.
7/14/2011 1:12:42 PM
I'll see this sometime next week. Looking forward to it though
7/14/2011 1:13:58 PM
got tix for the 6:25 imax 3d at southpoint. can't wait.
7/14/2011 1:23:49 PM
Snape kills Dumbledore.
7/14/2011 2:48:14 PM
I've got tickets to the 9PM showing at the Marbles IMAX 3D theater and SATURDAY. Since that's the second full day of release, do you think we still need to get there two hours prior? we were just going to be there at 8 otherwise.

Thought it was a fantastic movie to end the series. Haven't read the book in a few years but I thought it threw enough in their to please to book fans and a little extra magic for the casual movie goer.
7/14/2011 4:24:43 PM
looking like im gonna go see it tomorrow night now....sweet!
7/14/2011 10:36:36 PM

mehjust ok
7/15/2011 2:26:16 AM
Great til the last 15 minutes. Jesus.Have to reiterate that it was great until then, especially McGonagall's part. There were some (to be expected) deviations from the book but it was all in good taste.[Edited on July 15, 2011 at 2:56 AM. Reason : a bit too negative first time around?]
7/15/2011 2:30:34 AM
I thought part 1 was bettercould have been all the annoying ass clapping throughout the movie that put me in a bad mood though
7/15/2011 3:08:03 AM
i'll wait and see this in 3-4 weeks when there aren't so many hardcore fans in the theater

Saw it last night with the GF, we enjoyed it. It has been sad on here, but will say it again..It was kind dark (lighting wise), but very good movie and ending. There was a couple things I had gripes about, but it did not take away from the movie. Definitely could have enhanced IMO. III

So, does harry potter die in the end or wat?
7/15/2011 8:06:18 PM
probably
7/15/2011 8:08:24 PM
no but he kills his parents
7/15/2011 9:47:45 PM
IT'S ALL A TIME TRAVELING LOOP DREAM!!!VOLDAMORT IS REALLY HARRY POTTER!HARRY POTTER IS VOLDAMORT!BUWHAHAHAHA!

I thought it was a good ending to the series. Lots of action. Its funny how the first part took place over months and months and the last part took place over a day or two. Enjoyed, will buy to finish the series when it comes out on DVD.
7/15/2011 11:00:11 PM
twas good
7/15/2011 11:03:46 PM
Enjoyed it. But:1) Really wished the final showdown had been in the Great Hall with all the people surrounding the fight, instead of HP and V off by themselves.2) I missed HP repairing his wand with the Elder Wand before destroying it.
7/15/2011 11:49:50 PM
Just saw it. I enjoyed it but it was a little different from the book (nothing surprising there). I was super disappointed about not having Neville's grandma around. Her line "I want to fight with my grandson," was always my favorite. Oh well!
7/16/2011 1:02:34 AM
did anyone else think for a second there that harry was gonna use the elder wand to repair the castle?
7/16/2011 1:23:38 AM
I knew when I was watching tht final battle that something wasn't quite right....thought I had remembered it being in hogwarts...forgot it was the great hall...they shouldn't have changed that....did not make the end of voldemort exciting. My other grief was not explaining he had Lupin and Tonks kid.
7/16/2011 6:59:30 AM
Snape totally stole the show. Rickman performed exactly how I imagined that character in the end. the "love" scenes between Ron/Hermione and Ginny/Harry were so terrible and flat.
7/16/2011 7:53:04 AM
7/16/2011 10:31:51 AM
^^since the first movie i believe Snape was the best portrayed character from book to film. Rickman did a tremendous job from #1-#7.2
7/16/2011 9:45:45 PM
^ I agree
7/16/2011 11:42:55 PM
took the gf to see part 2 today. i confirmed that i did this purely for her benefit, and i'm glad i haven't lost any more money on the previous however many.. 6? of these things they've made. i know a ton of people love this stuff, but it ain't for me. some of it was fine but i couldn't get by some moments.and
7/17/2011 12:17:50 AM
^Dork
7/17/2011 1:11:28 AM
^^ If you didn't like this one then DO NOT see any of the others. This was by far the best film.
7/17/2011 1:37:05 AM
um no, Azkaban and Goblet of Fire are both way better. I'd probably say HBP and Pt 1 were better too.
7/17/2011 8:12:56 AM
Is IMAX 3D worth it for this film?
7/17/2011 1:11:23 PM
enjoyed the darkness of this filmcinematography in both deathly hallows films were great. Voldemort in this movie was great
7/17/2011 7:50:19 PM
7/17/2011 8:40:41 PM
So wait, Goblet of Fire is better than this? I guess I'll go ahead and lower expectations.#3 was probably the best.
7/17/2011 9:11:23 PM
i say they should have left the two movies as one and just had some huge, epic, harry potter blowout.
7/17/2011 9:42:02 PM
98% of this movie was amazing. The ending... not so much.
7/17/2011 10:25:42 PM
I am pretty satisfied with the movie (it was awesome), but I will admit I was a little disappointed with Neville's big part and how they tweaked it :/Oh.. And it irked me that they kept having a noise from Nagini's tongue. Plus, why make her strike similar to a viper or other venomous snake but make her look like a python (and act like one in the first part?!)
