Wow, Anelka is a real dick. I don't know how someone could piss all over their national team and country in such a way. Does he have no pride or sense of nationalism?
8/18/2010 9:19:36 AM
le sulk has been irrelevant for france for a while anyways, maybe that's why he thinks the ban is so funny
8/18/2010 9:28:49 AM
^^ I must be the only person who supports the players in what they did. Domenech was a joke, and if the FFF want to make scapegoats out of the players instead of the awful man they put in charge, then that's on them. One of the comments I read on ESPN yesterday said it was just like some French movie based on a true story out of WWI - the French got massacred at some battle because of inept commanders who kept sending wave after wave of troops to their deaths. After the battle was over, the French army commanders rounded up the few survivors (all enlisted men) and executed them for not winning the battle. They're just shifting the blame away from where it should be placed.Anelka has every right to laugh. The FFF is a joke.[Edited on August 18, 2010 at 11:23 AM. Reason : .]

they're clowns, trueStill doesn't excuse telling off your coach at halftime of a game in the World Cup... that's unacceptable no matter who is in charge, even if it's a moron like Domenech. And it doesn't help that you and the team played like shit anywaysand I'm sorry, but I just can't get behind boycotting the World Cup because of the coach. I mean, you're in the fucking World Cup, man up and represent your country. Play the games and then if you want to criticize the federation and/or coach, go right ahead. I mean, Domenech was who he thought he was before the World Cup, right? What were they expecting? They should have refused to play in the WC beforehand if he was in charge, imo[Edited on August 18, 2010 at 11:47 AM. Reason : .]

Brazil really doesn't want Neymar to go to EPL...
8/18/2010 7:50:33 PM
would you?
8/18/2010 8:21:48 PM
Neymar is a heck of a talent, and I think he'd be better served with a year or two in a lower level Premier League squad where he can play more but they aren't keeping the potential next Ronaldinho playing domestically when Chelsea is throwing money at him. The "warnings" from national team reps is a bit over the top.
8/18/2010 8:29:49 PM
he'd be better off somewhere far far away from leg breakers like Cattermole and DeJong
8/18/2010 9:02:42 PM
...and Shawcross

http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=815108&cc=5901This smell fishy to anyone else? There's more to this story than what's being told.
8/18/2010 10:29:36 PM
Maybe they gave him a chunk of change to not go to a rival Prem team. To me it wouldn't make sense to do that, but then again does Wank City do anything that makes sense?
8/18/2010 11:11:46 PM
they can reject loans to anyone they want though, right? i can see him wanting to play there, his family lives there, and he's near the end of his career. he was talking about retiring before this season started so i don't think it's too crazy. lucky for cardiff, because they're only paying something like 6000 per week of his huge salary.

Wolfsburg vs. Bayern Munich, the opener of the Bundesliga season, is on ESPN3.com Friday afternoon. Former England manager Steve McClaren will make his coaching debut at Wolfsburg. This might be his best chance to beat Bayern since many of Bayern's starters are recovering from extensive World Cup runs (unlike almost every EPL player).[Edited on August 19, 2010 at 12:53 AM. I swear I think they do that shit on purpose But seriously, he doesn't sound very optimistic about the injury in that piece. I hope that it isn't a tear and he is shelved 6-7 months like Lennon.

8/23/2010 3:26:46 PM
that bid is a fucking joke, they bought him for 18.6 poundsand now that he's probably one of the best def midfielders in the world and captain for his national team, he's worth 6 mil less? fuck that
8/23/2010 3:41:45 PM
no one in their right mind would accept that bid. barcelona should have to give liverpool extra money to take hleb and caceres
8/23/2010 3:44:34 PM
Looks like this Ibra to the Rossoneri move is picking up steam. May just be a loan move though from the reports...

I'm half joking, as I consider myself partly an AS Roma fan.But the demise of Serie A has been disappointing. Leave it to the founders of representative government to be so damn corrupt.

Any of you guys watching today? I just got home and am switching b/t Sampdoria-Bremen (3-3 agg -- Sampdoria up on away goals) and Sherrif - FC Basel (Basel up 1-0 on agg). Was hoping Sheriff could pull one back. Moldova? Who has heard of that country even?
