Down goes Kemo
3/5/2010 7:37:29 AM
tis a glorious day
3/5/2010 7:57:09 AM
making a news splash in first hours of free agency?shocking.
3/5/2010 8:10:30 AM
this is the best panthers free agent season in recent history and its not even finished
3/5/2010 8:16:13 AM
4 new starters across the defensive line in John Fox's "make or break" yearyikes
3/5/2010 8:19:28 AM
you're really scared things will be worse?can someone explain why injuries arent built into contracts? seems like whatever defensive lineman we show the money to goes down in the first 3 weeks for the season
3/5/2010 8:23:49 AM
Because it's a competitive league and if someone offers you that another team will make an offer regardless of injury.
3/5/2010 8:24:45 AM
well they also offer the highest contract in the nfl to a guy who had never played a snap in the nfl so i guess theres alot of things that dont make sense
3/5/2010 8:29:03 AM
^^^ It's entirely possible, but I guess I just fear the unknown. When's the last time an NFL team entered a season with an entirely new unit starting? I can't think of one...[Edited on March 5, 2010 at 8:30 AM. Reason : .]
3/5/2010 8:29:50 AM
Denver this past season?
3/5/2010 9:02:28 AM
thats true, plus they had it even harder because they use a 3 man line[Edited on March 5, 2010 at 9:09 AM. Reason : they ended up with the #7 defense]
3/5/2010 9:07:46 AM
^^ Hasn't Dumervil been a starter since '07?
3/5/2010 9:12:22 AM
Brayton/Johnson, Thomas/Tyler, Hayden(?), Brownsigh.i dont think we keep Hollis either. we go shopping in FA, again.
3/5/2010 9:13:53 AM
^^ he's a linebacker
3/5/2010 9:14:48 AM
i think we should try and get greg olsen from chicago, they just picked up another blocking TE (maneaumeaulala, lol) he would basically become the #2 receiver right away
3/5/2010 9:17:20 AM
^^ He's bothHe plays DE on passing downsRegardless of Dumervil, overhauling a critical unit with Fox's job on the line is going to be tough.[Edited on March 5, 2010 at 9:20 AM. Reason : .]
3/5/2010 9:19:28 AM
cutler would weep if they let Greg Olsen walk
3/5/2010 10:17:17 AM
Cutler weeps when he stubs his damn toe
3/5/2010 10:53:35 AM
cutler drinks smirnoff ice
3/5/2010 11:17:24 AM
Landon Johnson and Diggs released yesterday
3/5/2010 11:17:34 AM
fox cried at the press conference
3/5/2010 11:37:57 AM
3/5/2010 11:54:23 AM
tyler brayton is apparently gone too. i was just starting to like that guyyep i'm a little worried about next year's d line
3/5/2010 3:35:28 PM
anybody hear any of Jake's press conference? He was very emotional
3/5/2010 3:38:33 PM
3/5/2010 3:40:51 PM
^That's just Jake. Don't know how you can hate on the guy for being emotional. He wasn't playing the victim. He was brutally honest about everything, as always, and said he wouldn't have minded to come back and play behind Moore. He knows he played like shit last year.I was ready for him to go, but he's a first class guy.
3/5/2010 3:46:52 PM
^ I completely agree.
3/5/2010 5:21:52 PM
my buddy who worked for the panthers PR department was genuinely upset because of this and he just kept repeating that Jake is one of, if not the most, friendly guy on the team egowiseso i brought up why he wouldnt out of the goodness of his heart take a paycut for the sake of the team knowing he doesnt deserve 13 mil this yearno answer for that except "you expect him to give the money back?"YES
3/5/2010 6:20:19 PM
because in the opposite situation, the team would totally hand out noncontractual bonuses to an overachieving player
3/5/2010 6:33:31 PM
not outside of the contract, they build those things into contracts like "must start xx amount of games, must play xx% of offensive snaps" etc...then they have bonus goals they can reach and get extra moneybut to just guarantee the guy 13 mil, why does he care if he plays like dogshit, he's getting paid the average salary of like 3 QBs before he proves he earned it
3/5/2010 6:40:20 PM
I am concerned about what the Panthers are doing. I hate that Richardson is the Owner representative in the CBA negotiations. Its like he is trying to send a message to the NFLPA that the owners are prepared to play hardball. I thought Richardson wanted a Super Bowl Championship more than anything but with what they doing to the D-Line I would say they are dumping as many veteran deals as possible. I would not be surprised if Moose gets his walking papers soon. Also Peppers says now he would have stayed had the Panthers offered him another 1.5 Million a year this past summer. Too me he is coming off as a big baby who is bitter. 2 years ago he would have been one of the highest paid defensive players in the league and he turned it down. So this once again proves that Peppers was all about the money.
3/7/2010 2:52:38 PM
3/7/2010 4:17:58 PM
^^Moose is a free agent.
3/7/2010 4:22:22 PM
i think we just dropped brad hoover ..
3/8/2010 12:36:22 PM
^I was expecting that...actually surprised they didn't do it last year.wonder what the chances are he just retires?
3/8/2010 12:39:10 PM
Good night...sweet prince
3/8/2010 12:40:57 PM
how long do we plan on keeping kasay?
3/8/2010 12:45:02 PM
until the rapture
3/8/2010 12:48:39 PM
What the hell is going on?They've cut 20% of the of fucking team and haven't signed or traded for anyone! The way it looks now, the 2010 is already down the fucking drain. We went from needing 1 or 2 pieces to make a legit run, to a complete overhaul/rebuilding stage. FUCK YOU HURNEY!
3/8/2010 12:55:47 PM
We drafted Fiametta 2 years ago, Hoover got hurt, TWICE, last yearnot a shockermost teams don't carry 2 fullbacks]
3/8/2010 12:57:13 PM
Starting to look like Richardson is going to be one of those owners to take advantage of the "no salary floor" provision this year.....Or, they could really just be trying to get younger (not ideal timing when you don't have many draft picks tho), they only have 3 players who are 30+ on the roster now.
3/8/2010 1:11:35 PM
Fully expect 5-11 or worseDefinitely value saving money vs winning games this yearAs a fan I don't like it, but as a businessman, I understand it completely
3/8/2010 1:17:23 PM
the offseason is a long one...free agency has only been open for a few days...be patient
3/8/2010 1:21:49 PM
3/8/2010 3:42:25 PM
Hey Tinkerbell,Hurney IS the GM last time I checked and you don't know shit about who is or isn't "calling the shots" so shut the fuck up. You *assume* Big Cat is doing that and then try to pass it off as fact which in turn makes you look like a dumbass. Good job. You should should go back to arguing that DeAngelo is, in fact, the greatest running back on earth since you played laser tag with him one time.2010 wasn't supposed to be a work in progress. It was supposed to be picking up a couple of key pieces to put us over the top since we have such a small window left with two great backs and Smitty.Kasay cut? You don't say, Captain Obvious
3/8/2010 3:50:29 PM
settle down manfree agency just started
3/8/2010 3:54:14 PM
So are you happy that other teams are shakin' and bakin' and we're left to pick up the scraps?Management made no moves last year in free agency last year (mostly because of Peppers) and it came back to bite us in the ass big time. This year, they have all the money they could ever need, and again, it looks like they will stand pat or sign some over the hill fill-in player.[Edited on March 8, 2010 at 4:00 PM. Reason : .]
3/8/2010 3:59:34 PM
we still have the 2 head monster, good secondary, ok linebackers, good o-line, decent WR'swe'll be ok but by no means are we in any shape to do any damage in the playoffs
