5/17/2010 8:49:25 PM
Heading offshore in the boat this weekend hopefully. Wish me luck.
5/19/2010 10:25:54 AM
bunch of sharks. no cobia. too rough to head outside on my dad's little 17 footer.
5/19/2010 6:25:16 PM
Anyone know a good place for trout near Sparta?
5/27/2010 11:59:28 AM
fishing soundside on Cape lookout this weekend... gonna do some lure fishing, and hopefully we can also get some fresh mullet and shrimp (and maybe some blood worms)
5/27/2010 12:01:16 PM
decent day off the pier on the Neuse. About 10 good sized croaker, 5 small fish, and I think a pigfish. The highlights of the day were a skate grabbing one of the small lines... it about emptied the reel before we could get to the line and break it. Then we had a big skate (probably 40 lb) hit and it gave me a good 15-20 minute fight.]
5/29/2010 7:12:58 PM
looks like y'all had fun
5/30/2010 7:12:07 AM
Can someone Identify this fish for me, caught it in the new river
5/31/2010 5:19:18 PM
anyone?
5/31/2010 10:30:09 PM
never seen anything like that. email it to NC marine fisheries and you might get an answer.
6/1/2010 8:01:19 AM
looks like a bluehead or hornyhead chub.
6/1/2010 8:48:41 AM
^ Thanks! Looks like you're right
6/1/2010 11:12:47 AM
did some fishin over the weekends... all I caught were several sharks (2 on the line at one time was pretty neat)- at least I caught something though!
6/1/2010 11:15:40 AM
yeah, it was pretty much impossible to fish last time i was behind shackleford b/c of the fucking 2 foot sharks.
6/1/2010 11:46:33 AM
guy down the beach from me was using the same bait and getting it out just about as far as I was and was bringing in blues... don't know what my problem was... still had fun (also had my fishing license checked- glad I remembered to get it renewed before I left!)
6/1/2010 11:51:00 AM
he may have been in a slough or hole or something. how far down the beach from you was he?
6/1/2010 11:59:18 AM
caught a 13lb red drum on saturday from the shore on emerald isle on shrimp. twas deeelicious.
6/9/2010 12:07:44 PM
fish for about 3 hrs in the back of my house yesterday. Caught 2 speckled trouts and lost a huge redfish.
6/9/2010 12:15:05 PM
^^ That fall within legal limits?
6/10/2010 3:06:13 PM
doubtful that a 13 lb red was in the slotdoubtful that this guy even knows what the slot isdoubtful that he cares about conservation
6/10/2010 3:34:04 PM
That's what I'm thinking. It'd have to be an awfully fat fish. Please respect the regulations, they are there for conservation.
6/10/2010 5:21:58 PM
me and B0j0s are going to Lake Michie in a couple hours in Bahama just north of DurhamI just bought a new reel and some new lures last night so here's to hoping we have better luck than the past 3 times we've gone fishing (caught NOTHING at bond lake or pine lake)
6/12/2010 4:26:25 AM
howd you catch nothing at bond normally the catfish are just waitin on ya
6/12/2010 4:31:48 AM
got no answerit's ridiculous
6/12/2010 4:35:07 AM
bummer man shouldnt be bad weather this mornin ill prolly go out bout 4 cause there is supposed to be a storm rollin in round 7 so hopefully the fish we'll be biting. good luck though regardless its always a good time
6/12/2010 4:38:08 AM
6/12/2010 8:46:50 AM
18-27" in NC. i guess a fat one might've been in there.
6/13/2010 6:27:17 PM
No way at all that a 13lb redfish is a slot fish. A giant slot redfish goes 8lbs. This is just some jackass who doesnt give a shit about conserving our coastal fisheries.
6/14/2010 12:09:46 PM
wdprice looks like you got a good catch in every sense
6/14/2010 12:44:16 PM
we wanted to go deepsea or at least bottom fishing down in Charleston but all the choices are small private charters that charge too much... a result of some silly ordinancewe would have done catch and release (maybe 1 keeper to actually eat)]
6/14/2010 12:49:34 PM
just started fly fishing. can anyone give me any pointers on were to go in the mtns?
6/27/2010 10:07:38 PM
Went on Monday and limited of bailers
7/8/2010 12:57:59 AM
Just got back from the Keys (just south of Islamorada) . A lot of the reefs are filled in with sand. It will take a decent storm to uncover them.Limited on mangrove snapper several times. Landed 3 nurse sharks and 2 reef sharks. Also caught an assortment of juvy groupers, snook, and barracuda. The typical assortment of shitfish (porgies, pinfish, lizardfish) were also caught and subsequently used as bait.Decent trip. Oh, and Tropical Storm Bonnie was a fucking joke.
7/25/2010 12:50:56 PM
Restricted, what inlet did you go out of. I hope the wind stops blowing soon... I need to get out there for some salt water therapy!
7/25/2010 2:19:39 PM
went out to Holly Springs on Bass Lake with Quinn & Shrike but didn't catch anything...I let them down...must redeem myselfi think they had a good time though

for anyone interested in making a DIY bait bucket or live well PetSmart(in store) has their emergency battery operated air pumps on sale for $3.19. they are usually $17.99. you can drill a hole in the side of a cooler or 5 gallon paint bucket and mount the pump(just cut the power cord). it takes "C" battery's i believe and I've had them last a whole weekend while camping and fishing at the beach.this is the modelhttp://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260359393314&rvr_id=&crlp=1_263602_263622&UA=M*S%3F&GUID=a600e1df1230a0b587118ed1ffd83ff4&itemid=260359393314&ff4=263602_263622
7/25/2010 6:09:05 PM
damn, that price beats the shit out of a bubble box
7/27/2010 10:12:13 PM
yeah i bought two more just for backupscan't beat keeping bait alive for 2-3 days while camping....
7/28/2010 12:52:11 AM

Son, I am disappointbtw is anyone familiar with a dude that goes by the name "Uncle Steve"? He has a crapload of videos up on youtube fishing all over the trianglefunny thing about him is that he uses almost exclusively a spincast reel with almost exclusively nightcrawlers as bait, and always bank fishes. I guess hes on ncangler.com but I ask because my girlfriend recognizes him somehow, like from tv or something like thathes like an old dude with a big white beard, by no means a professional but his videos are pretty interesting because they show some good spots that I would like to go try and spots that i fish regularly. By no means a professional (lol he doesnt know how to use a spining reel at all he fishes it upside down) but I am inclined to believe he is more of a naturalist.lately i have been killing it on the eno, 2 and 3 pound bass just wading down west point and pennys bend, whic people say is large for the eno. I finally learned that you cant stay in one place in that river you cast a few times and move along, mch success that way since the populations are relatively low and fish dont seem to school as much you have to seek them out and ive fished the eno so much i know where the holes may begive the eno a try guys[Edited on September 9, 2010 at 11:09 AM.
