gonna be a BIG year for Greg Olsen!

hmm, i dont know about this buckhalter over faulk. However, I don't have a solid #2 back just yet1. LaDainian Tomlinson2. Roddy White3. Tony Gonzalez4. Marshawn Lynch5. Anthony Gonzalez6. Carson Palmer7. Donald Brown8. Lance Moore9. LeSean McCoy10. Tampa Bay11. Kevin Faulk12. Mason Crosby13. Robert MeachemI had donald brown there. Buckhalter is intriguing if he got touches in that denver RB swarm (I guess its the same in NE, but faulk is a proven go to guy for them, and this is PPR league).
8/30/2009 10:32:58 PM
yea that is the same approach I took when I drafted faulk. He had 58 receptions last year which is pretty solid.hrmm maybe I'll pick him back up and drop the poor man's steve smithshit I still need a stupid kicker....[Edited on August 30, 2009 at 10:41 PM. Reason : kicker]
8/30/2009 10:35:30 PM
This is the first year I joined a league. Question- Can you still pick up free agents after the draft? Do I need to drop someone first? Can you have more than 16 players on a roster?
8/31/2009 11:49:10 AM
yesyesdepends on the league settings
8/31/2009 12:15:33 PM
word...thanks Does my claims have to be approved by everybody else in the league?
8/31/2009 12:18:41 PM
^Nope.
8/31/2009 12:23:05 PM
excellent
8/31/2009 12:33:38 PM
With Buckhalter starting a few games, is it worth dropping a handcuff player to get him?
8/31/2009 2:05:45 PM
Matt Cassel could be out 2-4 weeks. If you drafted him might wanna give Thigpen a look now. He was pretty solid last year. Surely they would start him over Brodie Croyle who has no business on a NFL team.
8/31/2009 2:45:27 PM
The Chiefs front office and new staff is high on Brody Croyle, who is above Thigpen on the depth chart even though he is a better QB. Don't take Thigpen unless you are waiting for Croyle to get injured or flop and be benched.
8/31/2009 2:52:41 PM
this should not even be a discussion.KC fired their offensive coordinator yesterday. 2 weeks before the season starts.Who does that? That offense is in shambles and I would stay away from any and all skill positions on that team.
8/31/2009 3:08:45 PM
drafted LJ late yesterday
8/31/2009 3:35:58 PM
you're an embarassment to the league
8/31/2009 3:37:06 PM
Had my first draft yesterday, 10 man league, 6th pick:QB Drew BreesRB LaDainian TomlinsonRB Ronnie BrownWR Terrell OwensWR Santana MossTE Owen DanielsD/ST Ravens D/STK Ryan LongwellBE Trent EdwardsBE Willie ParkerBE Darren SprolesBE Laurence MaroneyBE Shonn GreeneBE Roy E. WilliamsBE Devin HesterBE Michael JenkinsBE Brent CelekI'm pretty happy...we shall see!
8/31/2009 9:33:42 PM
So I just realized my commish changed our rules to qb's getting 1 pt/10 yards and 6 per td. We haven't drafted yet. What the hell do I make of these rules. Should I go for a high end QB or should I stick with someone average and draft quality players elsewhere. Scoring for WR/RB is normal non PPR.
8/31/2009 10:07:14 PM
eek
8/31/2009 10:56:26 PM
I'd say definitely go QB first round. Get Brees or Brady if possible. Look for high yardage guys.1 pt/10 yards is amazingly high...standard is 1 pt/25 yards.
9/1/2009 11:25:57 AM
Its skews everything10 yards per point is a much bigger deal than 6 points per touchdowna 20 yard pass basically negates an interception
9/1/2009 11:32:14 AM
i think i've run out of ways to politely say that a trade is god-awful
9/1/2009 1:25:41 PM
This is my first season ever and the 10 team league I am in has a pretty detailed (too detailed honestly) defensive setup. Our starters in the league are:1 QB2 RB3 WR1 TE1 WR/RB1 K2 D2 DB2 DL7 BNHonestly the amount of defensive players made it kind of a complicated draft. Anyways my team looks like this with the round chosen in (#). I had the 4th pick in a snake style draft (1.4, 2.7 etc.)QB Philip Rivers (3)RB MJD (1)RB Frank Gore (2)WR Greg Jennings (4)WR Vincent Jackson (5)WR Lee Evans (7)Flex LenDale White, RB (8)TE Dallas Clark (6)K David Akers (13)D Patrick Willis, LB (9)D James Harrison, CB (10)DL Mathis (14)DL Gaines Adams (18)DB Atogwe (12)DB Cedric Griffin (17)------------QB Kyle Orton (15)RB Rashard Mendenhall (16)WR Jericho Cotchery (11)WR Steve Breaston (19)TE Brent Celek (21)D Chad Greenway, LB (20)DB Kerry Rhodes (22)Any thoughts? at least on the normal offensive positions since I know our D setup is kinda screwy. As you can see, I went for 3RB, 3WR, QB, TE before picking up any D players, but I got 2 strong LBs (in the research I had done for the "D" position on our chart, they were my #1 and #2).[Edited on September 1, 2009 at 9:21 PM. Looks like a solid team. Getting Jennings in the 4th and Clark in the 6th is pretty good value
9/1/2009 9:30:01 PM
A girl I know wants me to help her team in which her brother set the autodraft rankings. Her first round pick was Steve Smith. Her second round pick was John Kasay. Her third round pick was Vince Young.I don't think I can help.

Crayton or Nicks on my bench?[Edited on September 4, 2009 at 1:40 PM. Reason : have Crayton now, but Nicks is available]
9/4/2009 1:39:13 PM
Just completed my 1st and only draft this year. It's just your typical ESPN standard league.Team (had the 2nd pick):QB Phillip RiversRB Adrian PetersonRB Derrick WardRB/WR Steve SmithWR Reggie WayneWR Terrell OwensTE Zach MillerD/ST Carolina PanthersK John KasayBN Reggie BushBN Jonathan StewartBN Leon WashingtonBN Torry HoltBN Hakeem NicksBN Matt HasselbeckBN John CarlsonOutside of AP I really don't like my running backs all that much. Thinking about dropping Leon Washington for James Davis, but not sure if I'm going to make that move or not.
9/4/2009 3:23:38 PM
which steve smith? if the panthers, that is a solid draft.
9/4/2009 3:29:11 PM
^^dont drop Leon.Looks like you went AP, Smith, Wayne, T.O. and Rivers....in that order. Is that right?
9/4/2009 3:33:34 PM
answer me!
9/4/2009 3:34:13 PM
Keep Crayton. Cowboys depth chart released and Crayton is the #2 WR
9/4/2009 3:37:14 PM
yahoo is saying that Nicks is moving up above Hixonthat's why i'm torn
9/4/2009 3:54:12 PM
don't listen to that crap.I wouldnt want anything to do with that team anyway.
9/4/2009 4:10:47 PM
^x6It is Steve Smith of the Panthers.^x5Exact order of my picks.
9/4/2009 4:47:57 PM
Any site with a reasonably up to date depth chart for all teams? Was looking for one earlier, but its a little ridiculous, having Michael Crabtree listed as the starting WR at SF, considering hes still holding out...sounds like it was more projections rather than being based on any actual knowledge.
9/4/2009 8:15:03 PM
Who do you like between Joseph Addai and Ahmad Bradshaw? I know Addai is a #1 back but he will definitely be splitting carries with Donald Brown. Keep in mind that I already have Peyton Manning and Reggie Wayne on my team as well. So, do you think offering to trade Addai for Bradshaw would be a good idea. Bradshaw will get his carries and if Jacobs gets injured...
9/5/2009 12:32:57 PM
Eddie Royal vs. CINorDeSean Jackson vs. CARfor W/R spotother WRs are Randy Moss, Chad Ochocinco
9/6/2009 12:31:28 AM
^^no chance would I trade Addai for Bradshawif Jacobs did get hurt then that would be another story, but right now their values really arent close
9/6/2009 8:43:06 PM
Had my final draft tonight. The team:12 teamer.QB - Jay CutlerRB - Steve SlatonRB - Pierre ThomasWR - Calvin JohnsonWR - Marques ColstonWR - Braylon EdwardsTE - Tony GonzalezK - Robbie GouldD - DallasBN - Matt HasselbeckBN - Jamal LewisBN - Jonathan StewartBN - Nate BurlesonBN - Chris Henry
9/6/2009 8:54:02 PM
^^^i'd go RoyalI just offered some dude Jerius Norwood for Philip Rivers lol...he put Rivers on the trading block since he has Warner and he said he needed RBs...he has Turner so I told him he should think about handcuffing Norwood if Turner gets hurt...lets see if he accepts it haha[Edited on September 6, 2009 at 9:14 PM. Had our draft tonight - 12 teams, non PPR, standard scoring except QB's (10 yds = 1 pt). I had the 11th pick and I got realllly RB fucked. I really wish I had passed on Olson and drafted someone like Celek later to grab another starting RB instead. It was an interesting draft, deep teams.QB - Tom BradyWR - Marques ColstonWR - TJ HoushRB - Frank GoreRB - Willie ParkerTE - Greg OlsonW/T - Chad OchocincoW/R - Ted Ginn JrBN - Knowshon Moreno, Michael Crabtree, Shonn Greene, Donald Brown, Jerious Norwood, BenJarvus Green-EllisK- Nate KaedingDef - PittDef - San Fran(Yes we play two d's)
9/6/2009 10:05:36 PM
how did you get RB fucked? you have some decent studs in Gore and Parker there and some sleepers like in Greene?[Edited on September 6, 2009 at 10:56 PM. Reason : d]
9/6/2009 10:55:47 PM
14 person league...had our draft.tell me what you think...I got shafted on RBs the more I look at it and am trying to trade for Pierre Thomas or Matt Forte, someone along those lines...tell me who you think I should propose in a trade to get another decent RB?PPR, 6 for all TDs and 25 for QB yards.1. (14) Calvin Johnson2. (15) Tom Brady3. (42) Marques Colston4. (43) Antonio Gates5. (70) Jonathan Stewart6. (71) Jamal Lewis7. (98) Beanie Wells8. (99) Jerricho Cotchery9. (126) Torry Holt10. (211) Neil Rackerspretty sure I took Beanie Wells too high, I wanted Edge and Hightower but tehy got gone before I could get them
9/6/2009 10:59:41 PM
i guess you can get by with Jamal Lewis and Beanie Wells
9/6/2009 11:13:06 PM
9/6/2009 11:24:04 PM
^he didn't say thomas for forte
9/6/2009 11:51:46 PM
I meant he will have to give up better players to get Forte than he would have to give up to get Thomas
9/7/2009 12:18:26 AM
oddly, i'd rather have Thomas. I think he will be a better back and as you say, I can give up less for him.luckily the guy that has him also has Reggie Bush, I want to do a Lewis for Thomas trade but i doubt he does that.[Edited on September 7, 2009 at 1:19 AM. Reason : g]
