empty 12 guage hulls? $free, or close to it. a 100 pack of loaded 12 guage range ammo is $21-$22, and has 100-112 oz of shot, which runs $1 a pound for us reloaders.I used to reload shotgun shells, now the press and components stay put up just in case.

thanks. since no one reads the 49th post:

9x17 = 380
9x18 = short 9mm

I have about 50 rounds of 380ACP HPs that I don't need. I'd like to trade for 380 range rounds (~2:1) "

dangit. I just bought around 500 rounds for $0.50/round

that's a heck of a deal for HPs. I've seen them go for more than 3 times that.

walmart still gets 5.56 in by the case, still at $40/100 rounds, no need to pay more on the internet. That said, cmon folks, $.40 per round for 380 hollow points, 200 of them up for grabs, this is cheaper than BALL AMMO sells for at local gun shops.

Yes and if you notice my prices are right in line with, or slightly better than, Walmarts after tax prices. In fact that is where I got my ammo and I have some extra so I'm offering it up for sale if anyone is having a hard time finding some and wants to shoot.

Specifically the Federal 100 round packs would be ~42.80 OTD at walmart and I don't feel like dealing with $1 bills or change so I made my price $45. If you buy both boxes it is $85 saving you ~$0.60 over the Walmart OTD price(~$85.60). Same with the Remington, ~$10.70 OTD at Walmart, I just rounded up to $11.

With that said if some one really wants the ammo and wants it at cost after taxes and brings correct change I have no problems selling it to them for that. I was just trying to make things a little easier.

^ not going after you dude, the comment was directed at the aimsurplus link, as they and more or less all of the other suppliers are still high. Wolf steel case is the only cheap ammo out there on the internet, and then only at aim and 1-2 other places, and I STILL have on and off issues with wolf steel 223.

I too am a walmart shopper of doom, thus my current resale deal on 380 hollow points. I will be happy to swap 1:1 for 9mm HP ammo for any that are interested.

every walmart I go to gets 9mm 1-2 shipments a week

its still the same price as ever on blazer brass 50 packs and on WWB 100 packs

However, even with the new 6 box per day limit they are enforcing, they sell out fast. I have slowed down buying, though am still looking for primers as i have 50 pounds of 9mm projectiles, and 5-6k cleaned/polished cases waiting for primers.

^^do the walmarts you check tend to get their shipments on the same day, or does it vary?

I generally check the one in cary (tryon + kildaire, even though I've only ever seen 9mm there once in my life) and garner (401) which I've had much better luck with

hit them at 6-7 am on Mondays and Thursdays
the big shipment tend to come in on Sunday and Wednesday nights, with stock often not hitting the floor till 9 pm or later.
for the entire store
small ammo deliveries are during the day, often around 2-3 pm any any weekday

I just got 9mm at walmart brier creek yesterday. Left the rest, I'm not greedy.

They had 18 boxes come in.

I got a 50 rd box of WWB .357 SIG while I was there if anyone wants it, $25.

They still have one box .25 and .380 there. I would call first.

Alright...so I'm a noob to handguns and just got my CCW. I am very interested in purchasing a Walther pk380 but am worried about ammo. I know about shortages/hoarding and all that, but my question is does walmart even receive shipments of 380 ammunition anymore or does it just get picked up too quick? Are personal defense rounds of 380 available (ultimately, all I need are enough rounds to fill the clip...).

Thanks for taking pity upon my noob-ness.

walmart still carries most major calibers, including 380, but they do tend to sell out fast. you just have to keep checking and ask someone when they get their shipments and come as soon as they're putting the stock on the shelves

yeah, there should be several manufacturers of hollowpoints in 380. I like Speer's gold dots (I use 9mm though). Also, your gun doesn't have a clip, it has a magazine subtle difference, but good to know

A garand has a clip. It is one of 2-3 guns, excluding the strip fed early model machine guns, that are still around from the 'clip fed' designs.

yeah, I wasn't saying clips don't exist, just pointing out that what most people call a clip is really a magazine

a garand is clip fed, but the clip loads the ammo into an internal magazine

[Edited on June 27, 2009 at 6:09 PM. Reason : magazine holds bullets to be fired, clip makes loading a magazine easier]

the clip vs magazine argument is stupid and isn't anything new, who cares what word you use as long as everybody knows what you mean......i mean that is the purpose of language isn't it, so you can communicate ideas?

Quote :
"
CLIP
A device for holding a group of cartridges. Semantic wars have been fought over the word, with some insisting it is not a synonym for "detachable magazine." For 80 years, however, it has been so used by manufacturers and the military. There is no argument that it can also mean a separate device for holding and transferring a group of cartridges to a fixed or detachable magazine or as a device inserted with cartridges into the mechanism of a firearm becoming, in effect, part of that mechanism.

zapped102:

you can find 380 much easier now, compared to a few months ago. Walmart and a few other stores typically get a few boxes each week. You can also find it at online distributors as well. There is a ton for sale by regular citizens on guns related websites. If you're in a pinch and heading to the range, I can sell you some, but I can't say it will be the cost of walmart ammo, since I paid for it when it was hard to find ($.50-$1.00/round). I've also got some hollow points if you can't find any. I'll need to check to see what I paid for them though and to see if I can find them

as for clip versus magazine, I completely agree with legatic. It's a magazine, not a clip. Sure, people that know guns will know what you really mean, but it also tells them that you may not know much about guns at all. Real example: a congresswoman is clamoring for the AWB to be passed. She claims that the VT shooter was successful partly due to a high capacity clip. Two things wrong with that. 1.) You can tell she doesn't know what she is talking about because his pistols have magazines, not clips. 2.) The shooter did not have high capacity magazines, as all held less than 10 rounds.

legatic and wdprice3 - thank you so much for your help. I'm going to follow a couple walmarts to see when they stock and just buy what I able to. Now here's to hoping Walther starts delivering their PK380's.

Wdprice3 - I'll let you know if I want to purchase at least some hollow points. Considering the PK380 won't be out for a while longer so I can't use the ammo yet anyways, I'll keep trying to find a deal at Wallyworld.

And thanks for clearing up the magazine/clip thing. I will be sticking with magazine.

yes, there is a debate and not everyone agrees on what exactly is a clip/magazine. almost all of the people I've talked to in person (including cops and my firearms instructor for my job) maintained that magazines and clips are different things entirely

that doesn't take away from the fact that
Quote :

is a silly statement, and doesn't actually hold up if you think about it

let me rephrase that

it doesnt matter which word you use when large manufacturers and organizations recognize the words as synonymous

they must be smarter than the manufacturers labeling their products

and then try to convince them that they're wrong

7.62X25 ammo. I need some, and am looking to order 1-2 cases, at 1224 rounds a case. This is the 72 rounds boxes. I do NOT need a whole case, is anyone interested in splitting a case with me? I will split it up however many ways, price will be what I pay per box, no markup

score! i just found another 150 or so rounds of .45 acp that I had squirreled away. I knew I had some more ammo somewhere, but I couldn't find it until I moved into my new house and actually unpacked everything. I also thought it was only a few dozen rounds, so that was a nice surprise.

I'll still trade some +P Gold Dot reloads for regular FMJ range ammo if anyone wants any, though.

I have 500 rounds 9mm Luger 115gr full metal case. Factory loaded by Georgia Arms, using once fired brass. I bought it from Georgia Arms at the last gun show but have enough 9mm for now. I think it is identical to this on their website: http://georgia-arms.com/cannedheat9mmluger115grfullmetaljacket500pk.aspx. comes in the georgia arms milsurp ammo can with GA stickers/lot# on it.

figured I would post it here before the local gun forums. let me know if you anyone is interested.
