so my friend back home says its the second best after the first onei told him 2 is the pinnacle of the series and that no one else i've talked to really liked it
6/11/2009 1:01:47 AM
the real terminator fans who get it the way i do say Terminator 3 was the besti've only seen 1/2 of this one so i cant comment on it yet
6/14/2009 12:15:21 PM
Well, I don't think T3 is the best, but I certainly do think it's significantly better than this one. Given that the whole story is based upon a time paradox, Salvation is so full of holes that it honestly makes me feel like I could turn on the whole franchise. T1 and T2 were exceptional, and T3, while still having a few problems, was good to me. I just can't yet find any explanation in Salvation as to how the machines have any idea about the significance of Kyle Reese and that one point is a big no-no in the storyline.

what if they sent a machine back who observed that kyle reese was john conner's father, that robut then told the future machines of who to take out
6/14/2009 6:51:59 PM
I dunno... that seems like a pretty big stretch to me. Sarah and Kyle had a one-time fling while on the run from the first T-800. It'd also contradict the first movie where Kyle explains that no one knew who John Conner's father was. I think there was also a scene where you see the Terminator searching through it's data on Sarah Conner and it indicates that the father was unknown. I'll have to go watch it again to be sure.Apparently, this is McG's answer to this question:http://moviesblog.mtv.com/2009/05/27/mcg-talks-terminator-sequel-commons-music-timeline-and-more-fan-questions/... this is a really stupid answer.

Building on the foundation of "resistance wouldn't exist at all with just one guy taken out of the equation"...I'd rather see the terminator go back to colonial times to take out the 12th generation ancestor of whoever it is. The terminator would then be subsequently taken out by a bunch of Ewoks.

haha, I've thought of shit like that as well.NOW WE'RE BACK IN COWBOY TIMESGOIN AFTER ORVILLE CONNOR.

Rewatched it on cable last night with the gf because she's had a hard on for Sam Worthington since Avatar.I actually got back into it until we got to the giant robot with a gun for a head. What happened to the land HKs that they had in the first two?In the first chase scene POV shot they showed that the mototerminators had pretty kick ass navigation and sensory equipment. Why the fuck would they not be able to see a cable across the road? That seems like a pretty major design flaw, so major in fact, that the entire resistance strategy would quickly turn into attrition via cables across the road. Also, the "haha, you lead them right to us!" plot twist at the end was played out when Return of the Jedi came out.
