"[Nathan's children]They would have some powers I would assume. "

In the preview for next week, it seemed like Angela told him that he was "given" his powers and not born with them. Probably through DNA manipulation, like Tracy.

Quote :
"Ummmm what? Sylar has Claire's power. Going nuclear didn't kill Peter, I don't see why it would kill Sylar.

That said, I don't have any particular reason to believe that he causes the Earth to blow up. They made a reference to somebody causing an Earthquake in Sydney (it was a newspaper headline)...maybe that power used by multiple people, or one particularly skilled person, would do it. Or who knows."

I don't even know why I said Sylar would be out of the picture. But what I meant about the world ending was the picture that Sylar painted. It literally showed the world exploding.

Quote :
"So maybe I'm missing something but why does Peter need Sylar's power to 'save the world'? Apparentely Sylar understands why."

Sylar's power is to see what is wrong with things and fix them. Peter is thinking that if he has Sylar's power, he will be able to see what is "wrong" with the world that is causing it to explode and use Sylar's power to "fix" it.

Quote :
"I really liked how Peter was losing control and wanted to take FuNathan's power, very cool"

He already has Nathan's power, he doesn't need to look at his brain to get his power. He just has "the hunger" as Sylar put it.

That picture has showed up several times -- on a building near where Mohinder injected himself, on a rock out in the desert in Africa, in Sylar's painting, possibly more.

Basically . . . I'm not sure it's really dependent on something needing to be fixed, though. As Sylar puts it, his power is "seeing how things work," obviously on a level that is superhuman.

Who says that's his only power?

I like to think that all 3 brothers have the same power, just different understandings of it.

When Parkman was in the desert he should have just read the dude's mind while he was painting. It probably would have saved him that crazy acid-trip.

I don't like where they are going with Parkman. It reminds me of the Hiro + Japan crap. He needs to get back, and start controlling people like he was finally figuring out.

Yeah, Parkman is generally pissing me off. Normally, he's one of the characters I enjoy most. But at the moment they seem to have abandoned not only his newfound mind-control abilities, but his ability to read minds at all. His insistence on repeatedly asking questions instead of just looking into the dude's head is annoying.

It's made all the more aggravating because they could've explained it away in a couple of lines of dialogue -- "The power started corrupting me, I was doing bad things -- making people do stuff they didn't want to do -- so I've decided to renounce using it." Something along those lines. But they skipped that, so now it just looks like the writers are either too lazy to implement his power or too stupid to remember he has it.

we've only seen him read minds accidentally, on the willing, or people obviously concealing something.

I don't think it's out of character for him to not automatically mind rape every person he comes across.

On at least one occasion he mind-controlled Molly intentionally (even if it was only to get her to come back to the table to finish breakfast).

He did the same thing to his boss at the police station in Season 2.

We've also not seen him show a great deal of control over the mind-reading ability, which begs the question, "Why hasn't he read African Dude's mind, even accidentally?" He passively read Nathan's mind throughout season 2, even though Nathan was being forthcoming about everything.

I'm not going to raise a huge fuss about it either way, but it still seems to me that they could've explained his total lack of use of mind-reading over the course of four episodes better than they have.

That's true, but once he started to suspect that's how it worked he made an active effort to "test" it on Molly.

^^The way I remember it is that his father explained to him that Parkman's power was merely the beginning. It started with mind-reading, then control, then he reached the level where he could fully fabricate "prisons" like the one that he put Parkman in. After learning this and escaping, Parkman tried his powers out on Molly.

haha such a fitting power for a blk character. i am really pissed off ab them killing the magnetic guy so soon. all he did was open the doors and close the blinds. i think bc i enjoyed magneto from the comics so much i was just expecting him to make better use of his powers.

^ Induce current, refract light, jam communications, erase computer information slightly more covertly, etc. If telekinesis has some weight limit then there are things magnetic powers could affect that might be much too large to really do much to with telekinesis.

I think they just wanted to avoid having an obvious Magneto character.

There was a commercial in last night's Office that basically settled the question of who the new guy is in the next episode, and I would like to give myself points for calling it on page 5.

I think this article hits a lot of things head on about the new season. I agree with most of it, except for the thing about sterotypes.

Especially,
Quote :
"By contrast, I'm sorry, but Hayden Panettiere can't play a tough, embittered girl to save her life.
"

She is absolutely terrible in the villain role.

^^ there are things I could argue against in the article but it's probably blind fanboyism so I'm not going to.

something I did agree with is the "Mix in Standalone Episodes" idea. It's impossible to bring in new fans of the show if they try to watch an episode in the middle of a season. they'd be thoroughly mindfucked. but then again I don't really care if the show has new fans, but I wouldn't mind some instant gratification.

Have any other heroes exhibited abilities associated with some other sort of animal/creature (like Mohinder and this spider webbing or whatever it is he's doing to these people)? Of course, I'm ignoring Nathan/West and the flying.

Holy crap. I didn't expect Claire's Dad to propose that vortex dude murder Sylar.

I liked this episode. Finally started to pull things together. Hopefully the storyline will be a little more streamlined from here on out.

I still don't understand what Mohinder's deal is. He turned himself into Spiderman?

My first thought after he "sacrificed" Ando was of his little hand gesture when he said "I can bend time and space." He may have something planned, and it wouldn't surprise me if something happened at that moment which will be revealed later.

On the other hand, I could also see that scene as being a precursor to how the show will blur the line between good and evil, hero and villain. Hiro, so blinded by his desire to be a hero and save the world, stabs his own friend because he believes that it is the good and necessary thing to do.

Regardless, I think that Ando survives and this is the event that ultimately causes him to seek out powers of his own and bring about the future that Hiro saw.

I still want to know who Barbara (twin sister to Jessica and Traci) is and what ability does she have and is she still alive.

Also the puppet master and black hole abilities were sweet and fairly original. The show is getting very interesting and I like all the new characters and twists.

So is Linderman truly dead now? Nathan and speedster can only see him when Parkman's dad is nearby producing the illusion?

I also am curious how Level 5 hold the hero's/villains captive? It looks like Peter was able to portal himself in without a problem. Unless they make each room specialized to resist each villain.
