^^ doh, I knew that. I just liked the "hunger" as it overtook Peter
10/7/2008 2:37:12 PM
Nathan seriously got the shaft, both his brothers can do basically anything they want but all he can do is fly
10/7/2008 2:37:34 PM
^ from the preview for next week, it seems that flying is a lot more than he used to be able to do
10/7/2008 3:15:13 PM
Oh? I didn't see the preview. I might have to watch it.

I still want to know what's up with Linderman being around
10/7/2008 7:45:47 PM
When Parkman was in the desert he should have just read the dude's mind while he was painting. It probably would have saved him that crazy acid-trip.
10/8/2008 5:35:16 PM
I don't like where they are going with Parkman. It reminds me of the Hiro + Japan crap. He needs to get back, and start controlling people like he was finally figuring out.
10/8/2008 7:01:28 PM
Yeah, Parkman is generally pissing me off. Normally, he's one of the characters I enjoy most. But at the moment they seem to have abandoned not only his newfound mind-control abilities, but his ability to read minds at all. His insistence on repeatedly asking questions instead of just looking into the dude's head is annoying. It's made all the more aggravating because they could've explained it away in a couple of lines of dialogue -- "The power started corrupting me, I was doing bad things -- making people do stuff they didn't want to do -- so I've decided to renounce using it." Something along those lines. But they skipped that, so now it just looks like the writers are either too lazy to implement his power or too stupid to remember he has it.
10/9/2008 12:22:52 AM
we've only seen him read minds accidentally, on the willing, or people obviously concealing something.I don't think it's out of character for him to not automatically mind rape every person he comes across.
10/9/2008 12:52:16 AM
On at least one occasion he mind-controlled Molly intentionally (even if it was only to get her to come back to the table to finish breakfast). He did the same thing to his boss at the police station in Season 2.We've also not seen him show a great deal of control over the mind-reading ability, which begs the question, "Why hasn't he read African Dude's mind, even accidentally?" He passively read Nathan's mind throughout season 2, even though Nathan was being forthcoming about everything.I'm not going to raise a huge fuss about it either way, but it still seems to me that they could've explained his total lack of use of mind-reading over the course of four episodes better than they have.
10/9/2008 1:48:16 AM
10/9/2008 3:46:31 AM
^^If I remember correctly the incident with Molly and breakfast was where he discovered his mind-control.
10/9/2008 5:27:10 AM
That's true, but once he started to suspect that's how it worked he made an active effort to "test" it on Molly.
10/9/2008 12:24:32 PM
^^The way I remember it is that his father explained to him that Parkman's power was merely the beginning. It started with mind-reading, then control, then he reached the level where he could fully fabricate "prisons" like the one that he put Parkman in. After learning this and escaping, Parkman tried his powers out on Molly.[Edited on October 9, 2008 at 3:41 PM. Reason : .]

I had entirely forgot about the Parkman's dad.
10/9/2008 5:17:17 PM
his dad showed up in whatshername's dream too
10/9/2008 5:25:21 PM
^Mama Petrelli?
10/9/2008 11:47:28 PM
i'm not really understanding the "fear" guy. does he just turn a person's fear into his own strength?
10/10/2008 12:24:59 AM
[yes]
10/10/2008 12:44:12 AM
haha such a fitting power for a blk character. i am really pissed off ab them killing the magnetic guy so soon. all he did was open the doors and close the blinds. i think bc i enjoyed magneto from the comics so much i was just expecting him to make better use of his powers.
10/10/2008 1:00:54 AM
He would have just gotten destroyed by Sylar...There are few things his power can do that Telekinesis can't
10/10/2008 8:46:23 AM
^ Induce current, refract light, jam communications, erase computer information slightly more covertly, etc. If telekinesis has some weight limit then there are things magnetic powers could affect that might be much too large to really do much to with telekinesis. I think they just wanted to avoid having an obvious Magneto character.
10/10/2008 1:13:14 PM
There was a commercial in last night's Office that basically settled the question of who the new guy is in the next episode, and I would like to give myself points for calling it on page 5.

http://tv.msn.com/tv/how-to-heal-heroes/?GT1=28103I think this article hits a lot of things head on about the new season. I agree with most of it, except for the thing about sterotypes.Especially,

10/13/2008 1:16:15 PM
^^ there are things I could argue against in the article but it's probably blind fanboyism so I'm not going to. something I did agree with is the "Mix in Standalone Episodes" idea. It's impossible to bring in new fans of the show if they try to watch an episode in the middle of a season. they'd be thoroughly mindfucked. but then again I don't really care if the show has new fans, but I wouldn't mind some instant gratification.
10/13/2008 1:22:23 PM
^^I'd agree with that. But she is still hot.[Edited on October 13, 2008 at 1:23 PM. Reason : ^]

Heh. first Marlo now Bubbles. Plz to bring on Omar next.
10/13/2008 9:09:41 PM
Have any other heroes exhibited abilities associated with some other sort of animal/creature (like Mohinder and this spider webbing or whatever it is he's doing to these people)? Of course, I'm ignoring Nathan/West and the flying.Holy crap. I didn't expect Claire's Dad to propose that vortex dude murder Sylar.[Edited on October 13, 2008 at 9:46 PM. Reason : .]
10/13/2008 9:37:45 PM
ok, so hiro.....WTF
10/13/2008 10:03:23 PM
I liked this episode. Finally started to pull things together. Hopefully the storyline will be a little more streamlined from here on out. I still don't understand what Mohinder's deal is. He turned himself into Spiderman?
10/13/2008 10:09:39 PM
Hiro has something planned. There's no way he would have stabbed Ando like that.
10/13/2008 10:20:20 PM
Seems like the episodes are getting better and better, very interesting turn of events with Hiro and Ando; also, that puppet master teaser they showed for next week could be pretty badass.
10/13/2008 10:21:54 PM
who was that badass guy?
10/13/2008 10:28:43 PM
holy shitwell that answers that...
10/13/2008 10:31:24 PM
fuck mohinder
10/13/2008 10:36:26 PM
i'm looking forward to matt and his dad going at it againbtw, any ideas as to how the elder parkman escaped his mental prison? i'm guessing petrelli's power had something to do with it

I still want to know who Barbara (twin sister to Jessica and Traci) is and what ability does she have and is she still alive. Also the puppet master and black hole abilities were sweet and fairly original. The show is getting very interesting and I like all the new characters and twists. So is Linderman truly dead now? Nathan and speedster can only see him when Parkman's dad is nearby producing the illusion?I also am curious how Level 5 hold the hero's/villains captive? It looks like Peter was able to portal himself in without a problem. Unless they make each room specialized to resist each villain.
