I love Firefox with every part of my body.[Edited on March 17, 2010 at 3:29 PM. Reason : Peace, we outta here.]

I haven't touched it in weekschrome is OK for now

Been using Chrome on my netbook. I use logmein a lot and the full screen feature on Chrome sucks ass compared to FF. Like on chrome when you fullscreen the ONLY option at the top of the screen is click to return to windowed. Whereas FF has a hidden dropdown menu with all the buttons. Plus the logmein plugin for chrome isn't as well integrated as with FF. Still use FF on my desktop though. With adblock and FF 3.6 i don't really notice a difference in speed compared to chrome. FF uses less ram than Chrome, but Chrome separates tabs into processes which works better when a site crashes. I like certain features of both.

This next-gen browser race just got very interesting...Dear Mozilla, Please Don’t Kill HTML5 Video!http://briancrescimanno.com/2010/03/17/dear-mozilla-please-dont-kill-html5-video/

Firefox has been fucking up the past week for me (going slower than normal, crashing multiple times, etc). Just an issue with 3.6.3, potential virus directed at firefox or should I just switch over to crhome?
6/7/2010 10:57:21 AM
i used to be a huge firefox fan, but i use chrome for day to day browsing now and really only switch to firefox for firebug when i need it
6/7/2010 10:50:25 PM
^ same. i love the speed, plus some of the tab features are pretty awesome.after chrome got extensions i was long gone
6/7/2010 11:37:59 PM
very cool...enjoyed the explanation of the thought process behind their UI design decisions:http://mashable.com/2010/06/25/firefox-4-tabs/

is anyone else having a problem with their flash plug in crashing? I haven't been able to watch anything on hulu today, but it worked fine before i went to bed
6/26/2010 11:24:14 AM
flash updated the other day. Get the update. Im surprised its not screaming at you to update as mine was until I did.
6/27/2010 8:07:32 PM
The latest stable release was on 10 June, which was quite a while ago; anyway the great thing about the latest version of Firefox is that if Flash crashes, it doesn't take the browser with it.

Installed, AdBlock Plus works, I like.
7/6/2010 8:41:16 PM

Firefox 4: We ripped off Chrome's UX and threw it into a much slower product.

Their format, huh?

It will be interesting if Firefox 4 can stop the slow death of Firefox as Chrome eats away at it's market share.
3/21/2011 5:55:36 PM
^ wasn't Chrome eating at IE's market share, not Fx's?
3/21/2011 6:38:01 PM
Speaking of slow death, it would be nice if FF4 took less than 20 seconds to boot

3/22/2011 11:16:50 AM
Well, it's noon and they're about 3/4 of the way to a million...So it's not looking good on the whole record breaking effort, though it does seem they're about about 7k a minute right now, which might get them close.
3/22/2011 12:03:48 PM
Dammit, if you right click a link to open it in a new tab, they swapped the order of the new tab vs new window positions. I'm opening new windows all over the place. Why change that?
3/22/2011 12:59:39 PM
^I noticed that too. I'm hoping Mouse Gestures Redox gets updated soon though I may go ahead and download the beta version.
3/22/2011 2:18:00 PM
^^ yup, very highly annoying
3/22/2011 2:40:34 PM
3/22/2011 2:44:41 PM
^That takes 2 hands
3/22/2011 3:52:12 PM
haha touche.
3/22/2011 3:53:40 PM
about:configbrowser.tabs.insertRelatedAfterCurrent change to false.is this what you're talking about?
3/22/2011 4:18:30 PM
no I think they meant when you right click on a link the open in new windows/open in new tab switched places.
3/22/2011 4:29:34 PM
I like firefox 4. Seems faster and got rid of several unnecessary menu bars, most of my plugins still work.
3/23/2011 12:41:50 PM
3/23/2011 12:56:55 PM
i like 4 so far. i've had a few websites tell me my browser was incompatible though. google body said this, & said i should use ff4 beta & gave me a link to download it. ummm
3/23/2011 1:41:11 PM
also a few extensions still haven't been updated to work with Fx4 final and still require Fx4 beta, I think Microsoft's HTML5 video extension is like that
3/23/2011 2:15:36 PM
okay sooooo my coworker here, who has the exact same computer & is using ff4 downloaded only seconds after i dled it, can use google body just fine, no errors. i can't get it to work in ff or ie. i keep getting a web gl error. what is that & how do i fix it?
3/23/2011 2:52:51 PM
try fishing around in about:config for settings related to WebGLAlso IE9 does not support WebGL, and it also doesn't work well with Chrome Frame
3/23/2011 2:58:28 PM
Just downloaded FF4 and I like everything except the new "awesome bar." I used to be able to type a key word(s) in the bar and it would take me directly to the site (tww, espn, amazon, etc). Now it just pops what I typed into a google search and takes me there. Anyone else notice this or know of a way to change it?
3/23/2011 4:04:58 PM
The phrase "Awesome Bar" isn't new: It has been kicking around for about 3 years, since Firefox 3 was in beta.
3/24/2011 2:30:02 AM
I think he meant the new version of the awesome bar, and it was in quotes because he was being sarcastic. That's how I read it at least, lol.
