a pipe does sound nice right about now.i enjoyed a Rocky Patel Sun Grown last night. this one came from the humidor at Total Wine and it seemed to burn really wet. nice cigar, but i think the humidity in that humidor is a little high.

Try smoking around 63% humidity. Much more pleasant. 65% is my ceiling. I let anything I purchase sit at home for a month minimum to bring the RH down.

I usually do too, but I was headed to a cookout and my friend's FIL was in town. I didn't know this ahead of time or I would have pulled something out of of my private stash. But he would always have cigars for us when we'd go this place before he moved, so I wanted to return the favor.

Haven't been smoking in a long time. I had a cheap little humidor that has been outside ideal range humidity for a while... some older cigars in there. Wondering if they can be doctored back or if I should just toss them. Once it starts getting chilly in the evenings is when I really think about a cigar or pipe. Prime weather for me.

Same here. My humidor is all out of whack...have a few cigars in there that i'm wondering if I can bring back from the dead...

Get a small cooler or something. Abandon the desktop humidor. Go get MiMi Kitty Litter from WalMart. Or any other unscented kitty litter made of silica gel. Holds humidity like a champ.

yeah, i've seen a lot of people moving toward the insulated cooler route. but to be honest, the best things I have found are the Boveda humidity packs. Sure they cost a few bucks more, but after i (correctly) seasoned my humidor a couple years back I have had great results holding steady between 67-70 all year long with the 72 degree packs. they usually last a solid a 3-4 months before completely drying out.

On a whim invested in a corn cob pipe and am looking for suggestions for a good tobacco to get started pipe smoking on. I went into RJ's in Brier creek yesterday to pick up some Cohibas for my buddy's birthday, but the guy behind the counter wasn't that helpful in the pipe tobacco territory. Help me be cool TWW

I'm in the same boat. From what I could read/find, I started with 1Q...most every place stocks it as their "house brand" or whatever. It smells good and has a decent enough taste to get me used to it....But I'm still underwhelmed with the selection I've smoked so far. Maybe i'm just not a smoker...
