looks like A-Rod is gonna miss a couple (more) games
4/29/2008 3:55:19 PM
as long as dude doesn't take anything away from lyon, ill let him sit happily on his ass on the FA list.
4/29/2008 3:56:25 PM
tonight we'll see if Cueto can get his shit together like in his first 2 starts
4/29/2008 7:53:30 PM
Cueto with a stellar 1.2 innings and 7ER outingglad i didn't waste my waiver
4/29/2008 9:37:54 PM
bye bye cueto. thanks for fuckinup by ERA for the week.
4/29/2008 10:13:35 PM
i just dropped cueto for scherzer...he's pitching in relief right now...1.2 innings 4 Ks so far
4/29/2008 11:10:54 PM
4.1 innings 7ks no hits. And the astros are a pretty decent team. I'd say he was well worth the pickup even if he just spot starts here and there.
4/30/2008 6:58:13 AM
oliver perez can lick my nuts...he might be the 2nd SP i drop this week (fuck you too Johnny Cueto)
4/30/2008 3:10:31 PM
Haha, I'm happy about it - I have McLouth, Nady and Doumit.
4/30/2008 4:17:35 PM
if you have mclouth you've been happy the last week at leasti played against him last week...i think he had 2 homers on sunday...luckily taco phillips hit 2 homers of his own sunday to give me a narrow edge in that category]
4/30/2008 4:18:17 PM
Yeah my teams sick as shit. Cliff Lee <3
4/30/2008 9:16:24 PM
i'm pissed...somehow my roster mysteriously changed and it put dice-k on the bench! he's throwing a gem tonight too...
4/30/2008 9:40:21 PM
ugh, it seems like my whole lineup went cold at the same time, as arod goes to the dl, coul be a rough end of the week
4/30/2008 9:42:46 PM
Lee finally gave up some runs, but he still got the win
4/30/2008 10:05:54 PM
scherzer to start against philly on mondaynot gonna pick him up yet, want to see how he handles one of the better offenses in the majors first
5/1/2008 2:15:19 AM
What are the chances he gets 2 starts then next week?
5/1/2008 2:18:44 AM
I'll start scherzer monday probably. The rest of my pitching is good enough that it shouldnt hurt me too bad if he gives up 7 or something.
5/1/2008 7:50:39 AM
also you guys might want to keep an eye out on matt kemp...had a rough start to the year but seems to have settled in at the no 3 spot in the lad lineup, potential 20/20 guy
5/1/2008 9:00:12 AM
i fucking hate waiversscherzer is on waivers until tomorrow and I've got the 8 out of 12 waiver spot
5/1/2008 9:24:20 AM
^^haha i just picked up Kemp yesterday since today was a short day...he went 1/5 with an RBI but also had a stolen base so I'm up in that category 1-0 this week (apparently me and my opponent are slow as shit since nobody had a steal until Thursday)
5/1/2008 3:42:43 PM
Yeah I got Kemp 2 days ago in my TWW leaguedecent today like you said, and 3/5 yesterday with 2 steals and 3 rbis yesterdaydude hit .342 in almost 300 at bats last year so he's shown he can produce[Edited on May 1, 2008 at 3:47 PM. Reason : steals are gold in fantasy...runs and rbi are good, homers are really nice, but steals are alpha ]
5/1/2008 3:45:54 PM
I'm doing a roto 5x5 NL only league and I had top waiver priority... used it on Max..
5/1/2008 4:03:44 PM
5/1/2008 4:05:51 PM
i'm 6 out of 12, but get him tomorrow...::crosses fingers::
5/1/2008 4:07:08 PM
And the hits keep coming. First it was Harden (not too surprised there). Then Smoltz goes on DL with no timetable to return and as a reliever at that. Now Tulowitzki goes on DL (although he hasn't done much) and out until the AllStar break. And BJ Upton strains his shoulder swinging. I've picked up Jhonny Peralta to take over Tulo and I had Kinsler on my bench who can play 2B should Upton be out for a while. But my pitching is getting lit up. I have to go 4 relievers and 3 starters now: Young, Snell, Shields, Papelbon, Nathan, Capps, Gagne. We start any 7 pitchers in this 10 team H2H points league.
5/1/2008 8:40:18 PM
^ i feel ya, had harden, soriano (rafael) & arod on the yesterday & only 1 dl spot in my league, so had to drop soriano for quentin to get some production into my lineup
5/1/2008 10:48:32 PM
Is Vlad Guerrero going to start producing? I mean he has always had low walk and high K totals but now he isn't hitting for average or power....should I still hold on to him or trade him while he still has come credibility?
5/2/2008 2:09:42 AM
5/2/2008 12:30:58 PM
Ouch though Philly and Chicago are two of the best offenses in the N.L....Not sure if I would take that risk....
5/2/2008 12:54:23 PM
yeah but his stuff is still new, so nobody really knows his pitches yet..theres always the chance that he has a couple great outings, then once the league gets to know him, he falls off the map like Johnny Cueto might've just done recentlyplus he did a good job pitching to Houston...struck out the likes of Tejada and Berkman among others (Lee popped out...he struck out Bourn twice but lots of pitchers can do that)besides, Chicago and Philly might have two of the best NL offenses, but Scherzer has THE best NL offense behind himmaybe i'll be wrong, but i'm gonna start him both times next week, unless he gets completely embarassed on Mondayalso Carlos Guillen is about to have 3B eligibility after one more start (today)...good news for A-Rod owners like myself
5/2/2008 1:12:54 PM
5/2/2008 5:49:12 PM
so I can add Yiovanni Gallardo to the long list of people on my team who went on the DL this year. Torn ACL and probably out for the year. Here's the list:Yiovanni GallardoJJ PutzEric BedardRafael SorianoAlfonso Sorianoand Victor Martinez was out for a week toomy lineup is great but my pitching is absolute shit. Anyone have any recommendations on another SP to pick up? And by another SP, I mean someone so obscure that no one in a hardcore 12 team league would think about them.[Edited on May 2, 2008 at 6:18 PM. Reason : yo]
5/2/2008 6:16:46 PM
Adenhart of the Angels will probably get 2 or 3 starts before Lackey comes back if you're looking short term. He had very impressive stats in AAA.Homer Bailey is another name although he didn't do too well the first time around. He's dominating AAA again and will get called up soon enough.Watch out for Kershaw too for the Dodgers when he gets called up.[Edited on May 2, 2008 at 7:47 PM. Reason : .]
5/2/2008 7:45:25 PM
Vlad Guerrero with another 0 fer... Good thing I had Carlos Lee, Tejada, and Mauer today.
5/3/2008 1:20:50 AM
It's a long season. If you can sit Vlad for a little bit I think that would be best. You don't want to sell low and buy high (give Vlad while hes hitting shitty, only to end up hitting over .300) and I think Vlad will be ok. The power and speed may not be what they once were, but I think he's still a good 30-20 guy with a .300 avg.
5/3/2008 3:53:51 AM
woot carlos guillen has his 3B eligibility
5/3/2008 12:01:53 PM
My league is by week H2H so should I start? Pick 5: Two Starts One StartDustin McGowan vs CWS and @ CLE Bedard vs TEXJair Jurrjens vs SD @ PIT Hamels @ SFMax Scherzer vs PHI @ CHC Haren @ CHCFausto Carmona @ NYY vs TOR Halladay @ CLE....What do you all think, stick with the one starters or put a two starter in their place? I am extremely loaded at pitching but picking 5 this week is tough...
5/4/2008 2:49:30 AM
Jair, Hamels, Scherzer, Halladay, Bedard
5/4/2008 12:10:50 PM
Adrian Gonzalez is tearin shit up...just hit his 4th homer in the last 5 games
5/4/2008 1:57:06 PM
^if he didnt play half his games in petco, he wouldve already been a household name
5/4/2008 3:05:47 PM
My team is killing it this week. 63 runs, 18 hrs, 61 rbis, 7sb and batting .321. And only half my guys have played today (they are 6/25, 2 hrs). Its a 6 man league, but pretty competitive.
5/4/2008 4:13:53 PM
How long til Owings gets Util eligibility? I wonder how they would do that if he did start playing the OF or 1B on occasion...just put him in there twice? Or would people that already have him as a pitcher just get to play him too?
5/4/2008 7:00:08 PM
If he gets free bases on shitty ass calls I'll pick him up...
5/4/2008 7:00:57 PM
Pick 4 to start next week:Josh HamiltonNick MarkakisCarlos LeeTorii HunterMatt Kemp
5/4/2008 9:01:18 PM
Josh HamiltonNick MarkakisCarlos LeeMatt Kemp
5/4/2008 10:23:25 PM
this is shaping up to be my best fantasy baseball season ever...last week i was 10-0 and this week i was 8-1 to give me a total record of 41-6-2 so far this season in a competitive 12 man league! i had 11 stolen bases this week too...THANKS ICHIRO!
5/4/2008 11:46:04 PM
I am doing fairly well and was highest scoring team overall this week but I am a little bit nervous about putting Scherzer in the starting lineup this week....if Braun and Vlad start hitting I think I will win our league.
5/5/2008 12:07:07 AM
You mean if Vlad starts hitting. Braun has started picking it up.
5/5/2008 7:16:42 AM
somehow I am in first out of 12 teams even though Rich Hill was a complete letdown, Gallardo was on the DL for the first month and is now done for the season, JJ Putz has been complete shit, Bedard, Alfonso Soriano, and Rafael Soriano have all been on the DL.Here's my team...Hitters:Víctor Martínez(Cle - C,1B)James Loney(LAD - 1B)Chase Utley(Phi - 2B)Garrett Atkins(Col - 1B,3B)Jeff Keppinger(Cin - 3B,SS)Adam Dunn(Cin - OF) Kosuke Fukudome(ChC - OF)Alfonso Soriano(ChC - OF)Willy Taveras(Col - OF)Brad Hawpe(Col - OF)Miguel Tejada(Hou - SS)Joey Votto(Cin - 1B,OF)Pitchers:Jered Weaver(LAA - SP) Carlos Silva(Sea - SP) George Sherrill(Bal - RP) Brandon Lyon(Ari - RP)J.J. Putz(Sea - RP)Erik Bedard(Sea - SP)Shaun Marcum(Tor - SP,RP)Scott Olsen(Fla - SP)Brian Bannister(KC - SP)Tim Redding(Was - SP) i just dropped hill to pickup Redding and dropped Gallardo to pick up Hawpe[Edited on May 5, 2008 at 12:00 PM. Reason : my pitching staff is complete shit but somehow I've been winning pitching categories]
5/5/2008 11:46:45 AM
i'd drop bannister for someone else before his next start...look at his game log and how he has collapsed.
5/5/2008 12:33:34 PM
