I contend that the war on drugs puts more crack heads in the street than there would otherwise be

if crack were legal, addicts would very quickly overdose and die or get the help they need

it's that they might not be stuck in a 1950's attitude about drugs

Don't know if it's been mentioned here yet. But one important thing in drug testing is that it gives the company affirmative defense in litigation. So if some dude all doped up operating a bulldozer runs over and kills few other coworkers. The fact that the company drug tests will play to their side in court.

If in the same situation, the company does not drug test, their chances of winning in court is way worse and they're more likely to be held liable for the accident.

we had to let go a guy two weeks ago because one of the GC's overheard him talking about smoking and growing pot at his house.

boss called him in and told him what he'd heard and that he didn't care what he did away from the job as long as it didn't adversely effect his work. But from policy he needed him to consent for a drug test.

The guy just said "well...i dont think i'm gonna do that. It's been a pleasure workin for ya for the past two years and i'll see ya on the flip side"

I actually know a guy who used that as his strategy....he said he couldn't go, and they made him sit there and drink water until he could, but he drank so much so fast it was diluted enough for a pass....and they couldn't say anything about it being all water b/c they made him sit there and drink it.

when i was getting urine tests done for Accutane i remember one specific time i went first thing in the morning and hadn't drank anything and only peed once when i woke up. She called me a day or two later asking if i could come pee again because sometimes when you pee early in the morning and catch that first stream coming out its hard to really get a good test result.


well im going home for the day. my fate is with LabCorp now hahaha.
