1/3/2008 10:38:35 PM
yeah are the radio people picking candidates yet? i'm curious on who they would pick...i really hate romney and huckabee.....thompson is an actor...seriously...we need a really good president...dont be a prick...that leaves mccain...who does actually care about the environment...and wanted the surge which may not have helped anything politically yet, but sure has been better for us....and guilliani...guilliani is basically a dem on a lot of issues and lots of repubs wouldnt want him in...that basically leaves mccain as the only viable republican candidate...ron paul doesnt count because he wont winwhy a republican would want anyone other than mccain makes no sense to me...i cant imagine someone "willingly" voting for romney, huckabee, or thompson[Edited on January 3, 2008 at 10:39 PM. 1/3/2008 10:40:41 PM

1/3/2008 10:41:56 PM

Huckabee & Jesus in 08
1/3/2008 10:49:49 PM
i'm going to have to start working on convincing myself that this religious nonsense makes sensebecause I don't want to be put up against the wall and shot in 20 years.
1/3/2008 10:52:44 PM
Huckabee is insane. No really he is. Even more so then RP.
1/3/2008 11:16:15 PM
i get that "cult leader" vibe from huckabee
1/4/2008 12:18:59 AM
I swear his eyes remind me of those from the doe from Southpark's evil woodland critters.

1/4/2008 1:13:37 AM
Iowa got CHUCK'D.
1/4/2008 1:20:39 AM
Huckabee and Ron Paul are two completely different types of evil.God help me if I have to decide between Huckabee and Hillary.
1/4/2008 2:10:00 AM
Ron Paul is evil that damned constitution is the work of the devil himself. The constitution helps the terrorists!!
1/4/2008 2:53:12 AM
seriously, i just don't get hating on Ron Paul, much less calling him any sort of "evil"!Huckabee...well, I think he's a good dude. He also makes me about as comfortable as I'm ever gonna be with such an overtly Religious Right spawned politician (my hostility is in no way directed towards Christianity--it's to allowing it to have undue influence in government)...I mean, that aspect still makes me uneasy, but he's about the least unappealing example of it I can think of....but I am totally not down with him being such a populist. it's the worst kind of GOP platform--social conservative, economic liberal/populist (other than him wanting to overhaul the tax system).still planning on mine being a vote for McCain or Paul.
1/4/2008 3:24:58 AM
i kinda want mccain to win, but he is kinda old...i dont want to vote for someone that might die cause thats like wasting a vote
1/4/2008 3:30:14 AM
look at all you cute little haters... this race is going to be fun.
1/4/2008 9:47:41 AM
I would have to vote for a 3rd party if its between huck and hill. Just cant support another bush, and really cant support more taxes ... so ...Bloomberg or Paul FTW.
1/4/2008 9:51:45 AM
Duke...
1/4/2008 11:16:15 AM
1/4/2008 11:30:56 AM
dear god, Huckabee is the LAST thing the country needs... socially conservative, ultra religous, and not being fiscally conservative. this is an awful candidate.we need fiscal conservatism.(but we still need to fund NASA.)
1/4/2008 12:03:10 PM
^ work for NASA?
1/4/2008 1:14:17 PM
we really need another fiscally conservative, socially liberal candidate

Maybe a Hillary v HuckaFuck in 08 will be a blessing for Paul and lead to a 3rd party candidate being elected
1/4/2008 2:06:35 PM
I know some of you would never understand this because Huckabee is a Christian (like every other candidate in the race) but maybe, just maybe, some people voted for him because they like his position on things?Wait no, what am I thinking, that would NEVER happen. People voted for him because he is a Christian cult leader!! Ofcourse!
1/4/2008 2:46:03 PM
The guy has nearly identical positions to Bush--who by the way has sub 30 approval ratings. I think it's reasonable to assume people didn't vote for him merely because of his positions.
1/4/2008 3:00:25 PM
dude doesn't believe in evolution
1/4/2008 4:33:19 PM
I know. how dare the man have a fucking religious belief. What an idiot!
1/4/2008 4:58:57 PM
Sorry, but when your religious belief has a track record of saying stupid things like 'the earth is flat' and 'gravity doesn't exist' you really should bite the bullet and trust science just a bit instead of denying things because 'they're not in the bible.'
1/4/2008 5:00:43 PM
who is the idiot here? The church NEVER said the earth was flat. you fucking moron.AND, you are missing the fucking point. HOW DARE MIKE HUCKABEE HAVE A RELIGIOUS BELIEF. WHAT DOES HE THINK THIS IS, AMERICA? How bout you come up with something better than "he doesn't agree with my religious beliefs," ok?[Edited on January 4, 2008 at 5:03 PM. Reason : ]

sorry, i would never vote for someone who doesn't believe in evolutionjust like i wouldn't vote for someone who does believe in scientology[Edited on January 4, 2008 at 5:15 PM. Reason : .]

How bout you come up with something better than "he doesn't agree with my religious beliefs," ok?
1/4/2008 5:17:20 PM
Religion is having faith in something that has no evidence. You want to say God set in motion a chain of events that caused the big bang, awesome good for you.Stupidity is believing in something when all evidence points in the contrary. You want to believe the Earth is 5000 years old and evolution doesn't exist, you're an idiot.
1/4/2008 5:17:51 PM
1/4/2008 5:18:39 PM
why, i don't need to. i can refuse to vote for someone for whatever reason i feelTHIS IS AMURICUH ISNT IT
1/4/2008 5:19:43 PM
While I'm not really a fan of Huckabee, there's a little more to his statement(s) regarding evolution. This is a partial transcript of his appearance on Bill Maher's show.
1/4/2008 7:00:52 PM
i just knew that fuckers going to start sounding sensiblea nice and reasonable guyWE'RE SO SCREWED
1/4/2008 7:07:53 PM
He sounds rather reasonable but i cant say that i agree with a consumption tax. it helps the rich and hurts the poor.(okay, that's super simplified, but by having a flat tax for everyone in the form of a sales tax, its a larger percentage of the lower class, and a smaller percentage of the wealthier class)[Edited on January 4, 2008 at 7:11 PM. Reason : asdf]
1/4/2008 7:10:30 PM
paging EarthDogg... maybe you should find the thread on the fair tax, it is not nearly as simple as a flat tax, there is a fair bit of populist mumbo jumbo mixed in as to keep the poor from getting taxed like everybody else. "Prebates" I believe. It would be nice to see the various tax shelters only available to the super rich be likewise available to us lowly common folk. We ought to be able to save or invest w/o thinking primarily about how to skirt the tax code.
1/4/2008 7:50:44 PM
all i got from that transcript, duke, is that he doesn't understand the difference between evolution and the origin of the universe. those are two separate discussions
1/4/2008 8:15:03 PM
1/4/2008 10:44:55 PM
re-read it, then...you are missing his two main points:1. his argument isn't for or against evolution--it's that he believes in God being the ultimate force behind the whole works, who may or may not have used evolution as his means. That is a position that I respect and have no quarrel with.2. His other point is that the early Presidential debates are not debates at all, but rather a silly format of asking questions that really call for a detailed, nuanced answer beginning with "it depends"--but requiring them to be answered with a little more than a simple "yes" or "no". That, and some of the questions asked are just stupid to begin with. Here I totally agree with him--it's politically-oriented stupid reality TV for America's ignorant masses, although the format might be a necessary evil in the early stages. The funny thing is that I think Huckabee is like to be better suited to that format than a serious debate with someone like Clinton or McCain (or Ron Paul).
