you guys are right...online is fun as hell...after getting really pissed off during the middle of the No Fighting In The War Room mission on Veteran I decided to go online and I ended up playing over an hour...I'm at like level 8 or 9 or something so I'm working on getting the silencer for one of the submachine guns...pretty cool though that there always seem to be thousands of people online ready to play

I'm loving multiplayer, I just need to unlock more cool stuff.

I hate it when I see the kill cam and realize that my guy it rocking a Freddie Mercury moustache.

Whenever I see the kill cam, I go out of my way to kill my killer whenever I respawn, even if it means passing up other kills along the way

I actually had somone lined up with the biggest machine gun, shooting the entire time and he actually had time to aim with the damn sniper rifle and kill me. WTF the dick was 5 feet away.

a lot of the little 5 star general bitches do nothing but play this game 24/7 - so their twitchy little hands are perfect for jerking the curser onto your head and pulling the trigger

but its always fun to gut a 5 star and laugh at his pre-teen ass

Try some of these things and see if they help you a bit.

- Light machine guns are considerably more accurate when fired from a prone position.

- Watch the radar carefully, even if UAV coverage isn't up. If one of your teammates spots someone, it'll show up on the radar. The same is also true if an enemy opens fire and they're not using a silenced weapon.

- Your greatest contribution to your team is to stay alive. If this means sitting out on the periphery of the action and taking shots inwards, then go for it. I have a significantly higher amount of airstrike and helicopter support kills while playing as a sniper than I do any other class. Not all maps are good for this (i.e. Vacant), but some are excellent.

- If you're not moving across an "uncovered" area, remain crouched while you walk. Stop before rounding the corner of a building if you have a suspicion that an enemy could be on the other side. Post up and be ready to shoot. More kills in this game come from one person simply being more ready to get an accurate shot than the other person.

- If you are moving across an uncovered area, run like hell for the very nearest cover - preferably something concrete. If you have to go a roundabout way to get someplace, that's better than getting shot and losing that 6-kill streak.

- Claymores are awesome in this game. Once you unlock them, find really nasty high-traffic places to lay them (especially in Domination games). Don't die with Claymores still in your inventory - use them!

- If you like shooting from the hip, then the MP5 may be a good choice. Pair it with Steady Aim, Stopping Power, and the red dot sight and you have a surprisingly good gun for close quarters.

- Don't be afraid to let your teammates go first! It always makes me laugh when my teammates try to run down an alley, get gunned down, and then I come in behind them with a grenade and take out the guys who shot them. When you see someone on your team get shot, watch from where the shots came and then go take out the shooter if possible.

- ^ Because of this, don't fire indiscriminately. Muzzle flashes and tracers can give away your position real fast.

i totally disagree. i feel that the greatest contribution to your team is to score points. albeit you have to be alive to score points, but being alive doesn't mean that you are in fact going to score points.

yeah i've probably played like 6 hours or somethin...i recently found out that the larger death matches award more points or at least can hypothetically award more points since there are more people

I need to keep working though...gotta unlock that Barrett .50 and Desert Eagle

I've gotten about 1k xp a game playing headquarters or hardcore search and destroy. (do you still get +50 xp per kill on normal search and destroy?)

cool i oughta try that...i think all i've done so far is deathmatch, team deathmatch and capture the flag (as well as the larger scale versions of those)

13-kill streak is my record so far iirc

Well, those of us who don't fare so well in close quarters are only going to serve as "gimmies" for the enemy team and will run their score up faster. I'd much rather plant my Claymores somewhere nasty and then go sit on the edges of the map with my sniper rifle and see if I can work my way up to call in helicopter support. I'm certainly not saying don't try to earn points; I rather mean just don't make yourself an easy victim for the enemy team. My best round I've had yet as a sniper was a 17 kill streak and only 2 deaths in the whole round.

I feel like it's a pretty steep learning curve. It took me a couple of days to get used to MP and get my kill:death ratio over 1. Just rank up fast and get the weapon upgrades.

For me it really took finding a weapon that I like and then figuring out which perks helped me the most.

^^finding a weapon and perks that suit you is key.

but even more crucial is getting used to the maps i think. i got the game a week ago and was absolutely terrible, but now i usually finish within the top 3 (depending on if it's a map i know or not)

I made colonel around 5 this morning.

'Shipment' is an insane MP map. If you turn on deep penetration and spray randomly you can get kills. You can also toss grenades across the map and get a kill half the time. My favorites are probably 'Crash' and 'Backlot'.

I'm starting to think that my connection is screwing me online. I can't count the times that I've blasted somebody, but then they shoot and kill me. When it goes to the kill cam it doesn't even show me getting a shot off. The difference is only about a quarter second but its driving me nuts.

i'm having a bitch of a time fighting from the barn to the LZ on "Heat" on Veteran...after I get pass the part of survival and it tells me to get down the hill, there are too many enemies and I can't seem to trigger my squad to start moving after me.

i remember that part...it was tough but i think i did more running than shooting...if you can get back down to ground level near that gas station from the beginning its fairly easy...i think getting from the barn to the platform is tougher than the platform to the LZ

you should be able to get a couple checkpoints along the way
