earlier this month they released the wire soundtrack. it's pretty cool b/c not only do they have a bunch of memorable quotes, but some of the songs are pretty good.some noteable rap songs on there are:Masta Ace - Unfriendly GameBossman - AyoSharpshooters - Analyze
1/25/2008 9:53:19 AM
there is also a mixtape put out by a local baltimore dj and maybe a rapper too? i dont remember but i have it on my desktop at homeanyway it's music inspired by the wire from predominately local baltimore artists

1/27/2008 7:42:58 PM
isnt his name Gus?i forget toohe's also, if i remember correctly, one of the producers or directors for a couple of the eps...although i might have him confused. i know one of the main characters in the news room is
1/28/2008 12:54:23 PM
he directed the first episode of the series. i think he also directed the series finale

Damn! This is what happens when you try to holla at Snoop in New York Fried Chicken joint http://www.examiner.com/a-1181381~The_Wire_s__Snoop__is_a_witness_in_Baltimore_City_murder_trial.html
1/28/2008 2:50:21 PM
why would you "holler" at an openly gay lesbian in the first placedude deserved to be stabbedsidenote: I was in baltimore saturday night and nothing gives me a boner like going there during active seasons

Agent 0 in the car are you talking about the conversation where they basically both say they are very patient men? Only watched it once, thats the only dialogue I really remember, since they have to wait so long
1/29/2008 10:06:39 AM
no, its the second scene of them in the carthe second night they're listening to music and dude turns the radio to the clay davis feature on the radio show, then back to the music, but the music is louder this time
1/29/2008 10:09:12 AM
dunno i'll have to peep it out sometime again
1/29/2008 10:19:36 AM
ep 6 was a whole lot of plot advancement, but it's almost gotten bizzare with how out of control everyone is getting
2/5/2008 9:08:08 AM
yeah, its really starting to grind on me. It seems like things are gonna get so out of control that being able to it back together for one common goal/conclusion ain't gonna happen.Scott the journalist is driving me nuts, I'm ready for snoop to get a bullet in her brain, and i want the Wire team to get back together.
2/5/2008 9:14:39 AM
i still want to know how omar survived the fall
2/5/2008 1:49:11 PM
i still wish this season was 12 episodes instead of 10. 10 seems too short, especially with the way this season is going..also, where's poot?
2/5/2008 4:26:18 PM
yeah no kidding, season 5 was supposed to be Poot's rising and seriously, w/ 5 eps left they better get their shit together.
2/5/2008 4:28:05 PM
i havent watched the wire in a few weeks (since i watched ep 7)its all good though, torrents will be up eventually
2/5/2008 4:28:41 PM
this season is great, not sure what you guys are talking about
2/5/2008 5:55:41 PM
i'm pretty sure everyone agrees with you that the season is great
2/5/2008 6:04:57 PM
yeah no one is saying anything against the season being great, some of us are just impatient.
2/5/2008 6:51:46 PM
this season seems to be moving too fastand WTF theres only 10 episodes???? NO FAIR
2/5/2008 7:41:00 PM
http://www.washingtoncitypaper.com/display.php?id=34511Its a good read. Too long to post.
2/5/2008 10:29:09 PM
i thought that article fucking sucked. the "R&B music" thing is weak, and his "Wire-good"/"Wire-bad" analogy is stupid as well. i do think the pacing of this season feels different than the first 4, but there's a lot of shit they need to cover, and they have two less hours to do so. it definitely feels like the previous seasons had way more character development

that Masta Ace Unfriendly Game track is dope
2/8/2008 12:23:46 AM
this is one thread from being bumped to page 2 im gonna miss this show, wish they would keep up the pace from earlier seasons, but thats what so many series finale seasons do and in the end you are left wanting more. i think with the wire they arent just tying up loose ends, when they kill the series they are really killing it.i see mcnulty taking this thing into his own hands, and the reporter inventing his story, and think of bayliss at the end of homicide killing the ryland guy... hardworking people who think they are doing the right thing- getting the short end of the stick from the powers that be and imposing themselves on reality.
2/10/2008 7:27:29 PM
the last scene of the series is on Youtubesomeone spoiled the fuck out of this show by showing that scene. Now that I told you where the last scene is, dont go peeking
2/10/2008 9:24:20 PM
staying up till 12am to watch the next one on indemandhopefully it comes through at 12am like last week
2/10/2008 11:40:20 PM
they come on at 12:00 every week on Demand...
2/11/2008 2:51:59 PM
correct me if I'm wrong:last night at 9pm, HBO premiered episode 6 of this season...so episode 7 should be on demand tonight/tomorrow?
2/11/2008 3:06:36 PM
yeah, too bad i'm waiting on episode 8.. i ended up watching 6 and 7 on surfthechannel.comjust fast forwarded to the preview of episode 8....semi-spoilers..................looks like Scott gets called out for making shit up, Dukie gets a job, and McNulty lets Greggs in on the homeless scam
2/11/2008 3:38:55 PM
Scott should've been called out by the black editor dude when he tried to bullshit that Orioles opening day story about the kid in the wheelchair...why didn't he just say "yeah people are fed up with baseball and the steroids"...that guy is a doucheand yeah i'm waiting on 8 also...i watched 1 and 2 before the season started...then i waaaaited and waaaaaited and finally saw ep 3 and 4 on demand...then i watched 5,6,7 from torrent...the 8,9,10 screener dvd has got to be out or has got to be coming out soon[Edited on February 11, 2008 at 3:41 PM. 2/11/2008 5:23:57 PM
just watched whatever the most recently aired episode was...the things said at the co-op meet made me laugh
2/11/2008 6:00:19 PM
^^^^why the fuck would you even post shit like that with no spacing whatsoever?? it is one thing to talk about the ondemand eps, another to talk about shit that far. keep it to yourself.
2/11/2008 10:52:49 PM
the preview is on the newest ondemand episode.. i figure anyone that watched it would probably watch past the credits and see the preview
2/12/2008 12:24:13 AM
i hate this thread
2/12/2008 11:47:27 AM
have they aired episode 8 yet?
2/12/2008 8:49:26 PM
the one where mcnulty calls in as the killer is on demand. whichever one that is. about the last scene, lets just say the kid at the orioles game isnt the only one who ends up in a wheelchair!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
2/12/2008 10:12:48 PM
if anybody happened to just catch the end of the Heat Nuggets game, they were talking to Carmelo about the game, his matchups with fellow draft classman Dwayne Wade, etc, and then the announcer is like "tell them about The Wire!" and Melo said it was 90% real and the announcer said it was the best show on televisionfyi
2/12/2008 10:14:35 PM
^ good stuffbtw i liked the richard belzer cameo in the cop bar, complete with the "i used to run a bar, you know" line. who can count the homicide cast members who made it to the wire? luther mahoney from homicide used to be the ME on the wirebelzer (det. munch) in the above mentioned cameodet. meldrick lewis is now the "black editor guy"peter gerety is mcnultys favorite judgecallie thorne is mcnultys ex wifethats all i got....
2/12/2008 10:52:30 PM
i just found this and thought it was interesting:http://www.citypaper.com/bob/story.asp?id=11846i wouldnt pay someone for the tour, but it gives addresses, so it would be interesting to ride around and see the various places from the show.its funny that none of them are actually in west baltimore.
2/14/2008 2:29:02 PM
ill come up when it gets warmer and visit my brother and do it with you haha
2/14/2008 5:12:42 PM
Little snoopy is a good actress. I don't think ive ever seen anyone play a lesbian role more accurate than her. She makes it look so authentic.
