Thanks for the bump. Just had my first pomegranate of the season -- fantastic.$1.67 each at Food Lion, large but not huge, POM brand.$3.49 at Harris Teeter, huge and almost perfectly round, POM brand.

11/7/2010 9:02:18 PM
all you do is rip one open and dump the seeds in a bowl. not much work at all and you don't have to wash them.
11/7/2010 10:29:08 PM
Got two from a small local grocer on Friday for $1 each. Broke them down today, and they are yum.
11/7/2010 10:32:29 PM
I bought a POM brand one from Food Lion today (same price as was quoted earlier).About to crack her open.

11/8/2010 10:28:29 AM
<3 pomegranates
11/8/2010 10:41:59 AM
they stain everything, dammit
11/11/2010 2:24:08 AM
i got pomegranate juice all over myself, my wiimote, and the coffee table while trying to eat a pomegranate and play the new Bond and drink a beer all at once.
11/11/2010 5:56:49 PM
They were 2/$6 at Harris Teeter last night and didn't look like the usual exceptional pomegranates they have. Not sure what the deal is...
11/21/2010 9:30:54 AM
My best friend's parents have a pomegranate tree in their yard, so I just got the hookup with four of them. Yum!
11/21/2010 2:43:58 PM
ate some pomegranate today. joie did all the work though.
11/21/2010 2:46:12 PM
picked up 3 at the market today for $1.50ea. i'm about to break into one, will report back with results.
12/11/2010 8:44:55 PM
sam's has POM brand pomegranates already dismantled/peeled/shucked/??? for $7. there's 2 containers with a LOT of arils...but they looked pretty old & some were rotten. maybe your sam's has fresher ones.
12/12/2010 8:57:22 AM
I saw some for $1.50 at Target a few days ago...didn't grab some then but need to get a few next time I'm there.
12/12/2010 12:35:49 PM

12/12/2010 2:07:32 PM

12/12/2010 10:47:22 PM
MMM pomegranates. When do these things get out of season?
12/12/2010 11:15:40 PM
i fucking LOVE pomegranate juice and gingerale. yum!
12/12/2010 11:21:12 PM
I don't understand the fascination with these things.Tastes like bitter shit.
12/13/2010 2:14:25 AM
^ Weak ass baby.(and what kind of poms are you getting that the very slight bitter taste overpowers the vastly stronger sweetness???)
12/13/2010 4:17:48 AM
I don't know if I have ever heard a Pom described as "bitter" Poms are ridiculously sweet. And ridiculously delicious.
12/13/2010 10:12:04 AM
Anybody have experience growing pomegrantes? My parents have three trees but they never fruit, just flower. They've tried hand pollinating and planting other flowers to attract bees, but nothing seems to work. I told my parents I think they just need to trim the hell out of the trees so that there's only a few flowering branches but so far they haven't taken my advice
12/13/2010 10:21:09 AM
Had a delicious one this past Sunday. The gf did all the work though, and it looked extremely cumbersome. I like them, but will only eat them if someone else does the work.
12/13/2010 10:27:57 AM
bttt
11/5/2012 7:46:08 AM
Gracias...I'd like to thank TWW for obsessing over these things... I mocked the obsession in the past, but I have been converted. I've gone through 6 over the past week and a half (well, consumed 3, removed the seeds of 3 more last night)
11/5/2012 8:34:38 AM
worth the effort
11/5/2012 3:26:48 PM

God damn how come no one else ever discovered this method???https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=jJ7dk9nDR-kVery easy and unmessy... I feel like I can eat one a day now!Anybody seen that method or tried it?
11/7/2013 4:57:50 PM
