One of my favorite shows...But I'm concerned about how well it'll translate to a movie -- the 3rd season wasn't as good as the first 2 IMO because they knew they were finished so they were just trying to fit in as many jokes and crazy shit as possible. With that said, hell yes... I can't wait for this.
11/12/2008 8:59:22 AM
I like to think of the show as one long ass movie as it is. Doesn't make me as sad and pissed.

I want Paul Feig to direct it.
11/21/2008 1:08:55 PM
any movie updates worth mentioning?
1/4/2009 8:17:43 PM
this won't translate well at all, especially if they try to add all this epic shit to it.
1/4/2009 8:25:31 PM
They'd better hurry before the cast starts dying off and Maebe blows up.Music from the show:http://www.davidschwartzmusic.com/home.htm[Edited on January 4, 2009 at 11:05 PM. Reason : You want your belt to buckle, not your chair.]

From Comedy Central Insider(?):
1/5/2009 11:04:43 AM
They should just bring in a Michael Cera doppelganger, and not make any reference to it. Well, maybe a brady bunch Jan reference. Now that would be funny.
1/5/2009 11:16:13 AM
that's pretty lame of Cera if trueseems like AD is one of the main reasons he's had any major success right now
1/5/2009 11:25:28 AM
^
1/5/2009 11:27:03 AM
^^ ditto. they could bring by Super Dave Osbourne and be Cera's surrogate.
1/5/2009 11:29:58 AM
the more I'm thinking about it, it will really piss me off if this movie doesn't get done because of Ceralike to the point where I won't watch anything he's in because of it. that'll show 'em, right?
1/5/2009 11:48:31 AM
I don't see his problem, I mean it's the same character he always does, not like he's not already typecast
1/5/2009 11:55:47 AM
If Cera decides not to do the movie, the gags at his expense in it would be so awesome.
1/5/2009 12:20:35 PM
yeah, considering how meta the series got in the later episodes, they should be able to work around it and make it hilarious at the same time.michael cera is a douchefuck.
1/5/2009 12:24:27 PM
There were different Martas and different Eggs, so there can be different George Michaels.Hell, get GEORGE MICHAEL to play George Michael. In the first scene he can face the camera, say, "See, you ruined it," walk off screen, and then they'll throw up a card that says "George Michael died on the way back to his home planet."
1/5/2009 1:53:35 PM
Hes pretty much the worst character on the show and most movies where he doesnt have a great cast. Hell, get McLovin to play him hes not the show.
1/5/2009 2:02:38 PM
1/5/2009 2:55:12 PM
Maybe (I know I spelled it wrong) and Lindsay (possibly this too) were worse characters IMO. I hardly ever laughed at Maybe's lines unless it involved George Michael.
1/5/2009 10:24:23 PM
lindsay is the worst character imo. much much worse than george michael.
1/5/2009 10:32:56 PM
Personally I think that Carl Weathers would make a great George Michael.
1/5/2009 10:38:27 PM
i'm not sure if filming the whole thing w/ carl weathers playing george michael would be annoying or the funniest thing in years.probably the latter at first, and the former about halfway through.
1/5/2009 10:44:13 PM
actually now that I think about it Annyong would be a fun fill in as George Michael.
1/5/2009 11:08:23 PM
I can see it now. George Michael getting a stew on...

What producers are going to sign up for a guaranteed failure? It's pretty clear that the only people who are going to watch or enjoy this movie are the 20 people who watched the show.
1/6/2009 2:56:48 AM
lindsay probably had some of the best callbacksand i think years later, the callbacks may be what is the final piece that sets the series apartjust have him away at college and have it blatant that he's not there

So, you picked a random statistic and used it to conclude that AD would do well oat the box office. How about lets go with the obvious: Amazon.com sales rank is not a good predictor of box office success.Anyone remember Firefly? They went ahead with the movie because of great dvd sales. It was constantly in Amazon's top 20 DVD sales. Movie bombed.Amazon dvd sales don't mean jack shit.
1/6/2009 9:14:23 AM
it may bomb but that doesn't mean they shouldn't make it because I'm one of the 20 fans...I agree with you that it probably won't be a success at the box office which is why if Cera's not involved, it probably won't get done, considering he's really the only cast member with recent success. People actually recognize him now and a non-AD movie-goer might check it out just for him... what other actors on the show are like that? Jason Bateman? LOL
1/6/2009 9:19:52 AM
David Cross is pretty well known.
1/6/2009 9:44:10 AM
1/6/2009 9:51:10 AM
^^ I wouldn't think so for most peopleI guess he's pretty well known in certain circles but not enough to draw in a casual viewer like Cera.
1/6/2009 9:57:53 AM
Anyone who knows David Cross by name was already watching AD, because there's no way he'd be a regular on a network show that's garbage.
1/6/2009 12:17:40 PM
Most of the cast is B or C list celebrities.Jason Bateman was in Juno and some movie with Zach Braff that I can't remember. Will Arnett did some guest spots (I just saw him on an old 30 Rock episode pretty much playing a gay version of Gob) and was in that Will Ferrell skater movie.Cera has been in successful movies, but I don't think he is a "box office draw".Portia is that chick who married Ellen
1/6/2009 12:42:07 PM
Bateman was also in Hancock.I hope Will Arnett's character from 30 Rock meets Gob. Worlds will collide.
1/6/2009 12:47:56 PM
Tambour is pretty big as well

1. Alvin & the Chipmunks really wasn't bad.2. Doing six days on a movie for a quick payday is totally different than working as a regular character on a sitcom for three seasons. ]
1/6/2009 3:21:33 PM
yeah, one requires zero integrity.
1/6/2009 3:43:57 PM
I'd like to see George Michael do a chicken dance.
1/6/2009 4:50:06 PM
1/6/2009 5:02:24 PM
It really wasn't.
1/6/2009 5:03:48 PM
1/6/2009 5:31:49 PM
i'm willing to cut cera some slack for now and assume that they are still trying to work out the scheduling conflicts
