What to do when trackerball is stuck??So my trackerball will only allow me to go side-to-side and up...but won't let me go down (which is a pretty big pain in the ass).It did this the other day, I took it to the cell phone place, she took out the battery, it reset and started working (although that makes no fucking sense to me whatsoever). So it worked good for a couple days...now it's happened again. I did the battery thing again a couple times...no dice. Was there something she did that I'm missing?? And are there any other options? I got it just over a month ago, so I can't get it replaced right away...have to get it sent off for repairs if I take it back.

Any way to make messages that are HTML based show up in HTML?
7/27/2008 6:11:55 PM
upgrade to the 4.5 OS. It's only available beta right now I think but that's one of the things that it adds. I haven't done it yet but most people are happy with it & have 0 to minor issues (can't remember any off the top of my head but there are a few).

What is the best/cheapest e-mail hosting that will give me push capabilities to my blackberry? I own the domain name that the email is attached to. For some reason my company has not decided it is worth investing in Microsoft Exchange Server.

installed 4.5 last night on my 8310...maybe i just didnt notice this til now or maybe its a new feature but before im 110% certain my trackball and keyboard would light up all the time when i touched them...but now it doesnt light up unless im in the dark...is this a new feature? i was almost concerned that my backlight was dead but im 100% sure it now only lights up when it senses a low light situation, can you confirm? internet research says so

I keep my 2 BB batteries charged. I wake up this morning, and both are completely drained. W. T. F.?And my BB that's been disconnected for months, all of a sudden has a voicemail... [Edited on August 19, 2008 at 7:12 AM. Reason : .]
8/19/2008 7:03:53 AM
^ They must have both snuck out and gone to the goat after you went to sleep last night.
8/19/2008 10:05:53 AM
^I believe you would be correct. If I have server-side filters on my email, so some e-mails are sent to different folders, how can I get them to still be sent to my BB?
8/21/2008 5:04:40 PM
^If you have a BES Server there is an option on the server side under user properties under the Redirection tab that says "Redirect: Inbox Only or Selected Folders"...that might be what you're looking for
8/21/2008 5:17:33 PM
nope. just using the regular bb email
8/21/2008 5:31:36 PM
ttt, so if I'm not using BES, is there a way to see E-mails within folders?
8/22/2008 4:54:17 PM
i'm not sure myself...i'd say to look through all the options and tabs in your webclient setup
8/22/2008 4:57:58 PM
just talked to my carrier. Can't do it I wonder if NCSU has BES... time to find out
8/22/2008 5:18:17 PM
I saw that someone above posted that they're blackberry was deleting all of they're text messages.Unfortunately, mine, for the past three days, has been deleting all of my emails/text messages/phone calls every 2 hours. Which is a massive problem when I'm only on the blackberry, and not at my computer....I've heard that it could be a memory problem, and I don't know how much is normal, but I have 19090084 bytes free and 64749568 bytes occupied....The weird thing is, I haven't added any new applications in the past little bit, but in the past two days it's been deleting every few hours.Any help on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated!!!!
8/23/2008 9:21:11 PM
^that issue has been covered ad nauseum. search for memory leak on blackberryforums.com
8/24/2008 7:06:19 AM
problem solved - I'm getting a new blackberry from the office
8/24/2008 1:04:04 PM
^Haha problem not solved. Memory leak is an easily fixed issue. The new BB you get will do it too.
8/24/2008 6:24:00 PM
i thought that it was a more typical problem with the 8700 series, not the newer ones??and all the solutions that i found involved doing a hard reset once a week or so....
8/24/2008 8:30:32 PM
^It affects the newer ones especially. I have a Sprint 8130 that had memory leak bad when I first got it. I did the fixes on bb forums, and its fine now. And I don't do a hard reset unless I am adding or deleting a program.
8/24/2008 10:01:48 PM
thanks for the heads up. i haven't heard about anyone else in our office having problems, so fingers crossed that there aren't that many problems when i get....i may be back if there are

question:an off site user needs to synch up a shared contact list...he has outlook on his system, he has BB desktop software on his system, and he's connected via VPN to the network that contains the mail store...upon explaining to him how to map the right folders and set a unidirectional transfer (so he gets the shared list, but doesnt send his stuff to the shared list) he explained that Outlook was not one of his choices when selecting a mail client in the BB Desktop software Configure Synch setup, even though he has MS Office installed on his system, and he is able to use Outlook through the VPN...his first option is "" and his second option is "Outlook Express"...no Outlook...he only has one MS Exchange Profile on his systemany ideas?
9/2/2008 3:17:36 PM
so basically if a client is using Outlook 2000, they need to downgrade their Desktop software to v4.2 or earlier in order for Outlook to show uphttp://supportforums.blackberry.com/rim/board/message?board.id=BlackBerryDesktopSoftware&thread.id=1983]

if I have sprint should I get the Curve, the 8830, or wait until Jan for the Bold?
9/6/2008 10:13:36 AM
you should immediately get rid of sprint.
9/6/2008 10:39:16 AM
out of the question since I am on my Dad's planit is either sprint for free or other service on my bill
9/6/2008 11:06:20 AM
I finally got BES setup with my mailstreet exchange account. (sucks my company does not provide these things, they have some ancient pop3 system)Anyway I love it. It is so nice not having to constanly sync the phone everywhere I go. And the e-mails come up withing 5 seconds flat (instead of 10-15).
