looking at the new mizuno mp-60's... trying out the 6 iron on the range this afternoon Also trying the nike cddi? the callaway x20 tour and one other.
9/6/2007 3:42:39 PM
has anyone hit the Nike Sumo Driver yet?I know it's been out for a while, but I am intrigued by the rectangular shape and enlarged sweet spot.Anyone?
9/6/2007 3:43:55 PM
Yeah I've hit it up at Golf Galaxy. It's not bad. Much heavier than the other drivers, though. It doesn't sound or feel solid, even when you hit it on the screws, but the little virtual driving range thing said it gave me the most clubhead speed and distance. I have an original Sasquatch Tour and I fucking love it. It'll be a while before I trade that bitch in. Go up to Golf Galaxy over off Buck Jones and just hit everything they have. They have a huge selection of used drivers.
9/6/2007 7:42:09 PM
looks like golf may be scratched today damn Rocky River is hosting the Mayor's tournament and pops doesn't feel like driving too far to play.guess a haircut will be the afterwork plan
9/7/2007 8:01:22 AM
so i'm trying to decide between the mp-60 and callaway x20 tour right now... leaning towards callaway.i love my cobra speed pro woods
9/8/2007 6:06:53 PM
went to the range today.went REALLY well. went back to my old swing and i was knocking them pretty well.ill stick to my old swing.
9/8/2007 10:52:46 PM

9/9/2007 9:10:20 AM

9/9/2007 7:01:59 PM

9/11/2007 8:24:55 PM

9/11/2007 8:36:12 PM

9/11/2007 8:44:55 PM

9/11/2007 9:02:57 PM
what are the hours?
9/11/2007 9:17:44 PM
Can someone tell what kind of condition Lochmere is in? My foursome is thinking about going out there Thursday.
9/11/2007 10:13:48 PM
shifts are either from 7-2 or 2-close
9/11/2007 11:35:22 PM
^^I just got back from therethe greens were awful, but everything else was alrightmy long game was pretty solid, but once i was on the green it was impossible to read, very very slow to moderate (depending on the hole, with no consistency) and trashed up... i had putts that were bumping the entire way to the hole- i had many holes where I got GIR and ended up with single-triple bog's because of itbut hey, it was still fun to be out there in this great weather (also, it was pretty crowded)next time I'm gonna stick to the original plan and go to eagle ridge
9/12/2007 2:30:59 PM
^or you could play some disc golf haha
9/12/2007 2:37:08 PM
^^ man you can never go wrong with Eagle Ridge...that's pretty much my home course now...$35 for a badass course and GPS? Awesome.
9/12/2007 3:19:05 PM
well, my rooommate wanted me to play lochmere with himi definately like eagle ridge though- even though it's one of the hardest courses i've played, it's kept in great shape, and yeah- those gps carts are pretty damn cool
9/12/2007 5:46:24 PM
Eagle Ridge is a stout test, 6331 yards just from the whites - I shot 75 there one time and felt like I deserved a 69 anywhere else
9/13/2007 10:22:03 AM
Eagle ridge is by far the most consistant course, its always fun/challengingAnybody have experience with a Cobra F-Speed driver? I currrently use a Cobra driver, thinking about upgrading
9/13/2007 10:33:10 AM
How about our own Timmy Clark leading the Tour Championship? He has yet to win in 2007, but Ill be pulling hard for him.
9/13/2007 11:44:56 PM
ive got the F speed. and i love it.real good driver. but there are better ones out there..i got mine for a deal because of a connection at a shop.now they have the LD series, which IMO is the same as the F speed but sounds worse.if you can find the F speed for a good price, its good to go. if not. taylormade
9/14/2007 12:51:12 AM
haha taylormade ftw- I still use an old TiBubble2- it's got a few years on it, but it still plays awesome- it's the last bag in my club that I'll worry about upgrading- still need to get a 3w, LW, and new irons before i'd even consider looking at new drivers (possibly even a new putter, but mine has sentimental value)
9/14/2007 10:59:18 AM
9/14/2007 11:33:46 AM
YES YES YES, Getting off in 15 minutes and finally getting to play today. The weather is perfect. Hope I'm on my game, the last time i had a slight hangover I hit 6/7 fairways and outdrove the others. but i putted like a downy.
9/14/2007 12:06:22 PM
played riverwood on sat. lost my score card on hole #7. not sure how that happened. was gonna play hedingham sund. but went to the range. just cant get my driver down pat.one week its good, the other its not.having more of the "its not" weeks.
9/17/2007 2:21:48 PM
played friday, got rained out on the back nine around 14. Wasn't playing well, so I wasn't too disappointed. My drives were all over the place and I refused to move back to my 3wood . Made some great shots with my 56 and 60 for some tough saves.
9/17/2007 5:12:59 PM
the mp-60's are sweet. i also go a mizuno wedge set 52-07,56-13,60-09 and those are absolutely incredible clubs.i'm all decked out now with cobra speed pro driver,3w and those irons i've been hitting ping eye 2's my whole life, which aren't exactly a forgiving club, so these mp-60's aren't a bad transition.I have never hit balls so on point before until i got these clubs...
9/18/2007 9:38:09 AM
I have 2 free tix to the SAS this weekend. If anyone wants them let me know.
9/19/2007 1:15:38 PM
I was out there yesterday actually. Governor Easley was there getting a lesson from a pro.The SAS has some really big names in it. Just about all off the big ones are here this week.

http://www.ritzcarlton.com/en/Properties/ReynoldsPlantation/Golf/Default.htmWhere I will be staying and playing october 4-6th for a company management retreat. ranked 5 of top 100 resort golf stays. I am pumped
9/20/2007 7:49:00 AM
ive seen this different ways..... so im setting up for a shot with my driver.. in regards to the right elbow, do you want it tucked into your side (or as close as possible) through your backswing and back down?
9/20/2007 8:31:01 AM
D'Oh. playing here http://www.cuscowilla.com/not at the Reynold's Plantation. Still baller as hell, I am stoked.^the last couple times i have played i've been keeping my wrist rolled over and more seperation with my right arm. The first two rounds i played I really hit the ball well, played last weekend for the first time in a month and didn't hit it nearly as well. I think its more about what is comfortable to you. I liketo have some seperation b/c it keeps my shoulders and everything in line and on the right plane. [Edited on September 20, 2007 at 8:59 AM. Reason : add]
9/20/2007 8:56:47 AM
yeah, i think i need to take a lesson or two to see if my swing is on par.ive pretty much learned everything from watching people. my iron shots are good. my driving is good every other week
9/20/2007 9:53:23 AM
9/20/2007 10:54:31 AM
yeah i def. feel a more restricted swing, but from what i noticed, they went straiter.if i dont have my elbow close, then i can get some big time leverage and hit it out of the park, with 1 out of who knows how many going strait.haha
9/20/2007 10:57:20 AM
haha yep....the same happens for me. Thats why I usally hit it farther when I swing normal rather than trying to knock the piss out of it.fucking golf
9/20/2007 11:00:11 AM
^^like slater said i don't hit the driver as well with a loose swing. I seem to have better consistency and accuracy when i keep it mechanical. Also my drives have more of a flat angle than my iron/approach shots. This may not stay on par with the teachings and pros but it has helped me. I tend to help or "lift" the ball when i swing loose.
9/20/2007 11:01:26 AM
Played Falls Village for the first time yesterday, really liked the course, its in DurhamI ALSO HIT MY FIRST EVER HOLE IN ONE on the 151yd par 3 16th
9/20/2007 11:06:21 AM
congrats on the aceim working on #4 right now *brag*
9/20/2007 11:07:05 AM
now this is pretty cool.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qepnIKoq0sothey need someone to re-vamp that place. but i can see the risks in it. big time
9/20/2007 1:20:29 PM
just bought a 60 degree wedge on my lunch break.
9/20/2007 2:29:54 PM
i got one from wal-mart.. $12.97 haha.the driving range up the street has a *i think* ben hogan 61degree. $25.i need to go up there and see how my walmart one compares to some bigger hitters. taylormade and mizuno.
9/20/2007 3:08:26 PM
i bought a cleveland. my parents had given me a gift card to dicks a few months back so i walked in and came out with that.i had been using my fathers on rounds i'd play without him and had gotten comfortable with it. He had a broken in golden bear 60 we found at the beach for 5 bucks.with the card the cleveland was only 25
9/20/2007 3:24:34 PM
9 holes today, 18 friday
9/26/2007 8:14:57 AM
hopefully I can go to the preserve todayshot a 94 at eagle ridge a few days ago, hit it real bad on the back 9, had a 43 on the front
9/26/2007 9:02:11 AM
last week a guy in the group in front of us threw a hissy fit and broke his club over a grill outside this common area next to the golf course. He then picked it up, walked back to his cart normally, threw the shaft in a fit of rage, walked farther, then threw the clubhead. Has to be one of the funniest things i've ever seen on a golf course. And I have a new 60 degree cleveland Tour Action (black). 12 bucks once I put the shaft in it.
9/26/2007 11:51:37 AM
well lets see...hit the irons and wedges well but putted like i was putting on ice. Drives were suspect, the fade crept back in but it wasn't as bad in the past. Overall it was ok, just good to get loosened up for friday's 18.That new 60 i bought is oh so sexy.
9/26/2007 8:48:49 PM
i played yesterday, and did alright- my driving was a lil suspect, but my putting was on the mark- i made more 10+ ft shots than i have any any previous round that I can remembergonna hit the range tonite and work on my new 3wood and my new hybrid and see if I can get the kinks worked out of my drive before my round tomorrow at eagle ridge
