^we beat Indy in Indy that year.I wish the schedule makers would wise up and give us more primetime games after a non-playoff season. We always get 3-4 after a playoff year, and promptly suck it up. Then we get 0-2 primetime slots and we're lights out.[Edited on April 11, 2007 at 1:39 PM. Reason : .]
4/11/2007 1:37:54 PM
Didn't Dallas play @ Carolina last year.Seems a little weird
4/11/2007 1:48:34 PM
wtf, no monday night game? i figured us v green bay was a lock for that, since they always put that game on mnf
4/11/2007 1:49:23 PM
no monday night game????
4/11/2007 1:50:23 PM
8-8 record = not a lot of nationally televised games^^^cause we both finished the same place in our division...schedule format is already set in stone...nfl.com has all the rules
4/11/2007 1:56:24 PM
^^^^ this will be the 3rd straight year we play dallas at home[Edited on April 11, 2007 at 1:57 PM. Reason : 4]
4/11/2007 1:56:41 PM
Dallas absolutely owns us at home during the regular season, so that one is probably an L
4/11/2007 2:34:35 PM
i'm hearing the skins are in the market for trading down in the draft, how about this:Jenkins to the skins for swapping 1st round picks and the skins 2nd rounder next year (skins don't have one this year). If they really are looking to move Jenkins, the skins are looking for D-line help, and we'd most likely be high enough to get Landry at the 6 spot, plus an extra 1st day pick next year.
4/11/2007 3:13:04 PM
some good weekends for games. Spread out around nc state football I should be able to go to many of the games. I am excited!
4/12/2007 12:11:25 AM
so, the Cowboys game is on the NFL Network??thats fucking gay
4/12/2007 8:26:44 AM
Yeah the media is pissed at us because we went from darlings to dissappointment last year and many of them had thrown in their chips for us already. Thats fine. This team thrives in a comeback, non-spotlight role. Our schedule is much easier this year than last year IMO, so I just want to get to the playoffs like we're supposed to.

4/12/2007 8:54:51 AM
anybody know off the top of their head when tickets go on sale?
4/12/2007 9:43:44 AM
the date is probably not set yet, but it's usually in July for the regular season......season ticket holders get theirs earlier.
4/12/2007 9:46:10 AM
^^not sure but you better try and get your early!
4/12/2007 10:43:53 AM
Dallas game is locked for primetime so they cant steal it from us if we suckRemember, weeks 11-17 we could get our games moved to the 8.15 NBC slot if our game is sexier than the ones they have penciled in..Sunday, Nov. 18 Chicago at Seattle* 8:15 p.m. (NBC)Sunday, Nov. 25 Philadelphia at New England* 8:15 p.m. (NBC)Sunday, Dec. 2 Cincinnati at Pittsburgh* 8:15 p.m. (NBC)Sunday, Dec. 9 Indianapolis at Baltimore* 8:15 p.m. (NBC)Sunday, Dec. 16 Washington at N.Y Giants* 8:15 p.m. (NBC)Sunday, Dec. 23 Tampa Bay at San Francisco* 8:15 p.m. (NBC) Panthers not eligible with Dallas game locked inSunday, Dec. 30 Kansas City at N.Y. Jets* 8:15 p.m. (NBC)So if any of these games look shitty a few weeks before they're scheduled, than they'll get bumped back to an afternoon game. It's more embarrasing this year since they publicized the penciled in games, so everyone will know a game has been bumped off primetime.I think FOX and CBS get like 5 games each to protect from being stolen by NBC[Edited on April 12, 2007 at 10:56 AM. 4/12/2007 11:01:10 AM
need to get at least a 2nd round pick for him.
4/12/2007 11:07:27 AM
i'd like to see them trade up to get landry plus a mid round pick.
4/12/2007 11:11:17 AM
just a 2nd round pick? For Jenkins? I thought he would be worth more than that. For all we know he could leave and have 4-5 more pro bowl seasons. Thats not too far of a stretch, the guy is talented even if he does lack discipline and motivation. A coach like Shanahan might get him moving again...What could the Broncos offer us besides a pick this year? IMO Jenkins is worth a 1st round pick plus $$ at least....
4/12/2007 12:19:54 PM
The Broncos already have about 19 defensive linemanIncluding the entire Cleveland Browns line from a few years ago
4/12/2007 5:42:16 PM
wasn't he like the highest rated player a couple of years ago based on some stats, or did i just make that up?
4/12/2007 5:46:51 PM
^^^ he might have been worth that 2 knee surgeries ago...
4/13/2007 12:50:01 AM
I've seen Kris Jenkins twice in real life. Both times, he was hammered. If we can somehow get the Rams 1st rounder for him (13) we could grab one of the top two safeties, and possibly get Patrick Willis with our first rounder. Wishful thinking...Nelson/Landry, Willis > Jenkins[Edited on April 13, 2007 at 1:12 AM. Reason : ]
4/13/2007 1:10:52 AM
We gotta hold on to Jenkins and at least see if those knees are rehabbed IMO. If he can come back and 80% of his potential is there then he is worth holding onto.[Edited on April 13, 2007 at 8:48 AM. Reason : .]
4/13/2007 8:44:25 AM
Jenkins already said it would be "awkward" coming back now that he knows they're shopping him around.....don't expect him back, unless the Panthers get some unbelieveably low offers for him.
4/13/2007 9:25:25 AM
^from what I read, chances are he'll be back.
4/13/2007 9:26:54 AM
4/13/2007 9:38:08 AM
Yeah, I wonder if that is a passive plea to be traded though? Hes not the kinda guy to say something like that outright. I can definitely see why the panthers want to move him now. I also think that this probably has been going on alot longer than we knew about, but it just recently hit the fan when the press caught us shopping him to the Rams. All that stuff about him being in the best shape of his life is to be expected from his publicist. /hype
4/13/2007 12:24:21 PM
I think the not showing up for the offseason workout program had a lot to do with it........he had like $175,000 coming to him for just attending it.
4/13/2007 12:28:19 PM
get him outta here. we just resigned kindall moorehead to a 1yr deal, and we have quality guys like damoine lewis and jordan carstens. if we could get denvers #1 pick @ 21, that would be awesome. possibly snag patrick willis or reggie nelson @ 14, then greg olsen @ 21. or a dream scenario would be to leverage those 2 picks to get mr calvin johnson @ #4!
4/15/2007 11:01:40 PM
I can't imagine us getting a first rounder for Jenkins. I could even see a second rounder being a stretch.
4/15/2007 11:03:27 PM
Jenkins for Briggs. Bears are about to need DT help with Tank being in trouble, and we need a LB.If not then I think a high 2nd and maybe a 4th rounder would be adequate. Doubt any team is willing to part ways with a 1st rounder except perhaps the Colts.
4/15/2007 11:47:49 PM
They need to trade jenkins and their 1st rounder to move up plus a late 2nd early 3rd rounder.
4/16/2007 9:13:38 AM
^^ That sounds like a hell of a deal. Briggs plus a healthy TD and Morgan would be a nasty set of linebackers.
4/16/2007 10:54:45 AM
Oh yeah. Briggs is unhappy in Chitown and Jenkins unhappy in Charlotte. A win-win situation, eh?^
4/16/2007 12:12:36 PM
4/17/2007 4:54:29 PM
Briggs for Jenkins?? I'd be down for that. Are there any rumors that this may be true or are you just throwin it out there?
4/17/2007 6:00:23 PM
I was just thinking it made a lot of sense for both teams, no rumors or anything that I've seen. Maybe someone should contact the Panthers and Bears with my idea, haha.
4/17/2007 6:29:09 PM
i'd love to see briggs line up for the panthershowever i think the bears would almost be crazy to do itnow on one hand, its not that crazy if he says he wont sign with chicago...gotta do something with himand i love jenkins...but briggs has been a much better defender over the last season or two than jenks...who knows if jenks will get his shit together or not
4/17/2007 6:38:12 PM
It would be awesome to get Briggs, but Carolina doesn't have the cap room to sign him to the big deal he wants. If we do trade Jenkins we need to get more picks for him not another big contract that will take up cap room
4/17/2007 8:09:31 PM
^ i was just thinking that. if chicago already has an offer of 7 mil for next year, how much more would we have to pay him not only for next year but the next 5-8 years
4/17/2007 8:23:14 PM
There's a low in any trade talks right now, but I think once we get closer to the draft we'll see if there is a team that really wants JenkinsESPN is saying that the Panters might try to draft the TE Greg Olsen from Miami. I think this would be a great pick because he's got great hands and he's big enough to offer an extra blocker for our running game.
4/19/2007 2:37:36 PM
I can't figure out all the hype surrounding Greg Olsen. He just seems like another workout wonder to me. He never lived up to all the hype and expectations placed on him at the collegiate level. I mean based on workout number he seems like a freak at the TE position, but I just don't think he's worth a top 15 pick for any team, especially one with as many pressing needs as we have.
4/19/2007 3:37:33 PM
we oughta trade down a few spots and get the best safety available
4/19/2007 3:48:03 PM
Laron Landry will probably go in the first 8 picks or so.
4/19/2007 3:51:02 PM
nelson and griffin are solid
4/19/2007 3:51:59 PM
Olsen's last two years statistically speaking:2006 40 receptions 489 yds 12.2 yds/catch2005 31 receptions 451 yds 14.5 yds/catchZach Millers last two years (closest TE competion)2006 50 receptions 484 yds 9.7 yds/catch2005 38 receptions 476 yds 12.5 yds/catchWhile, there stats are pretty similar, Olsen gives you a much bigger deep threat, and is considered the only tight end in the draft that can really stretch the field. Our new OC comes with a system that puts key emphasis on the receiving capabilities of the TE. See Kellen Winslow.Miami TE StatisticsJeremy Shockey: 2001 40 catches 519 yds 13.0 yds/catch2000 21 catches 296 yds 14.0 yds/catchKellen Winslow:2002 57 catches 726 yds 12.7 yds/catch
