bttti am going to try and put an air filter in my car this weekend. cant get the damned hose off? anyone ever change one in a monte carlo before?
10/28/2008 11:20:20 AM
this was one of the ones i was looking for, and probably the thread.
10/28/2008 11:20:51 AM
^^ What hose? Air filters shouldn't require any hoses to be removed (At least none that I've seen). I assume you mean like a vacuum line right? You usually just open up the airbox, remove the old filter and put in a new one.[Edited on October 28, 2008 at 11:26 AM. Reason : ]

engine^yeah, im a car noob but i mean i've put in alternators and changed air filters in other cars. ive never changed the filter in this car, im guessing that is the vacuum line.once i loosen up the line and shimmy it off there isnt enough space to remove the top of the air box. i can open it slightly but but cant get the damn thing off after unlatching to install the new filter.http://images33.fotki.com/v1138/photos/1/135338/5489564/IMG_0003-vi.jpgthis looks very similar to my issue but my vacuum line is longer and segmented into two parts which isnt leaving me any slack to open the air filter box.[Edited on October 28, 2008 at 12:02 PM. That shit looks awful, it's a terrible position to put that airbox in.Btw, you're sure you've released all of the clamps right? [Edited on October 28, 2008 at 12:07 PM. Reason : ]

yeah, all i can see are those two and i have felt around underneath and couldnt find anymore.everything that i have seen on the internet doesnt really say how many they are but all reference the two in the diagram.thats pretty much my car, my year but a bigger engine.

Just got these dress shoes for an upcoming special occasion:http://www.kohls.com/upgrade/webstore/zoom_popup.jsp?productId=845524873695549 Gentleman, I have to tell you that Kohl's is simply the shit. It's the first time I've been to a department store in I don't know when that (1) I was able to get everything I needed (two belts, a wallet, and the shoes); and (2) they had my size (I wear a 13 shoe--you can find this size more these days than you used to, though). Of course, I don't go to these stores very often, so it's hard to make an accurate comparison. And I don't "shop"--when something wears out, I just go buy a new one. Very fast, very simple.

Omega Sports is having a shoe trade-in deal this month. Bring in any old shoes and you get from $5-$15 off any shoes in the store (amount varies according to sticker color). Usable shoes that you bring in are donated to charity.
