The Chargers season will be over in either one week or two.I don't think they'll beat the Patriots, but if they do I definitely don't see them beating the Ravens.Even still Philip had a very strong first season and the Chargers will have most of their nucleus in place. So Looking ahead to next season:Patriots: Could easily be the best team in the NFL... they have a shitload of cap space to address their WR concerns and add to their defense.Indy: Should improve their defense and keep their offense in tact.Cincy: Should improve their offense as Carson regains confidence in his kneeBalt: They may suffer from Super Bowl letdownDenver: Should be improved with a new running back and Cutler with more experienceSan Diego: Should return their nucleus but will suffer from a more difficult scheduleLooking at all these factors the Chargers will have a tough time duplicating their regular season success. They still look like a 10-6 or 11-5 team though that could even get a first round bye if things go well. Most likely they win their division and host a first round game as a #3 or #4 seed... With a year of playoff experience they should definitely be considered serious contenders next season.

well rally's got it all figured out
1/7/2007 4:25:53 PM
Patriots will grab Terrel Owens
1/7/2007 4:56:08 PM
The Patriots aren't gonna come into the Q and beat a healthy Chargers team. Its just not gonna happen. The Chargers are all but unstoppable at home, and they are gonna score a lot of points on that Patriots D. Tom Brady is gonna have to pull a miracle out of his ass if he wants to do anything against the Chargers D, because Merriman and Castillo are gonna be in his face all day.34-13 Chargers.
1/7/2007 5:50:02 PM
i don't know why merriman is talking shit about maryland beating nc state during philip's tenure. if i'm not mistaken, merriman only played in two of those games and his impact was minimal.

this might be old but...How did they loose that game? They were dominating man. I was relaxing on the couching icing this one untill it was tied late in the fourth and the Pats had the ball. Was this pinned on Rivers?
1/18/2007 12:25:19 AM
i think the general perception is that it's pinned on the kicker and on Schottenheimer, but i could be wrong.
1/18/2007 12:29:42 AM
^^ http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/6370214?FSO1&ATT=HMAExcept when mentioning the fumble, this guy only has praise for Rivers.
1/18/2007 12:32:35 AM
The loss was blamed on:Eric Parker (drops and fumbled punt)Drayton Florence (headbutt and bad coverage)Marlon McCree (Fumble on the interception return)Marty Schottenheimer (going for it on 4th and 11, using a challenge on McCree's obvious fumble)Vincent Jackson (not dragging his foot in the endzone, dropping 2 other passes)Clinton Hart (dropping what should have been an incredibly easy interception)Rivers was faulted for his interception and clock management in the end of the game, but people don't blame him for the loss.
1/18/2007 12:37:07 AM
This was in another thread and I thought it belonged in here...Rumor is, Rivers has withdrawn from the Pro Bowl due to a reinjuring of that foot against the now hated Patriots. Sucks ass...the man gets elected to his first Pro Bowl and can't even participate.http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2739779[Edited on January 23, 2007 at 8:43 AM. so does it still count as a pro bowl selection, if he can't play
1/23/2007 8:48:23 AM
yeah, many players have been selected for the pro bowl and were unable to attend due to injuryhe'll still be a pro bowl qb
1/23/2007 8:58:19 AM
maybe he just didn't want to be coached by belichick. let's see how many of the other chargers come up with reasons to not play. i'm just kidding of course.a guy posted this on the chargers.com board:
1/23/2007 9:10:04 AM
I remember last year like all 3 starting AFC QB's were injured, and they had to go with the 3 backups. They were still better than the NFC QB's

Wikipedia says that his teammates are nicknaming him "The Fourth" because of the following reasons:1. Statistically the best 4th quarter QB in the NFL2. Drafted 4th in the 2004 Draft3. If you look at his shortened nickname, P. Riv, it could be seen as PR IV.I had no clue about all this shit coming together, but I guess it kinda makes sense.
