I'm not much on salvaged bikesthat bikes been trashed once already
10/13/2006 10:02:05 AM
^^ they only showed one rear pict but the subframe on it might very well be tweaked. i couldnt tell from the one pict. it's a good starter bike since if you drop it your not going to cry. also a naked conversion would be cheap. unless you wanted to fix the upper fairing..let me find a new fairing that you can put on when you get better at cycling...\http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Suzuki-SV650-Upper-Headlight-Fairing-SV-650_W0QQitemZ230036396713QQihZ013QQcategoryZ35583QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItemthat ones not that bad but still kinda beaten up. your best bet would be to convert it to naked if you wanted it to look good good. then run a dual head light setup.. the worst part of converting it to naked is finding new guages that will mount up nicely. how far away is the bike. i dont feel like lookin on a map [Edited on October 13, 2006 at 2:59 PM. Fairly new, low mileage, not too expensive, might be a good one for her.
10/13/2006 4:17:01 PM
yeah it would be a great bike for what she wants one for...but if she thinks she could keep up with the scooters she might be in a little trouble

KAWASAKI NINJA '03. 250cc, 9k mi. Exc cond. $1900 nego.? what do you guys think about this?
10/13/2006 10:46:24 PM
you'll get tired of it too soon, you need to come up with a budget and work from there, not just cheacking out everything and not being able to decide, you need to think about engine size, performance class, and price
10/13/2006 10:48:48 PM
well I want something between 1000 and 3500... preferably a sports bike and speed not really an issue because when i get comfortable I'll wanna be hot headed... what about this?http://adcache.cycletrader.com/5/9/5/85928395.htmI also need something i can actually touch the ground with Been having trouble with that [Edited on October 13, 2006 at 10:51 PM. 10/13/2006 11:08:03 PM
looks poorly maintained, its not a very fast or good handling bike, and i wouldn't pay more than $500 for it in that condition[Edited on October 13, 2006 at 11:12 PM. Reason : cracked covers, rust dents, etc., not what you want to get into]

i don't like seeing stickers and nig mods on a bike, cause those are the people that have no idea what they are doing, dont have the money to fix it right after they screw it up, and just sell it, and its been laid down at least once on the side shown[Edited on October 13, 2006 at 11:17 PM. I bought this bike recenty with the hope of converting it back to stock. The bike is definitely road ready now and is very fast. It will need a back tire soon as well as a chain. I was planning to do this and sell this bike next spring after I converted it back to stock but Winter is approaching and I would just like to sell itin a nutshell, something expensive is wrong with the bike and it would cost more for me to pay someone to fix it than its worthThere is normal surface rust on the exhaust headers and chain.and there is no such thing as normal rust on a chain except for a negleted bike[Edited on October 13, 2006 at 11:29 PM. Ha ha I want something moderately fast... Its not too big of an issue... I am looking at a Suzuki bandit 600 and that looks nice... I also wouldn't mind a Ninja 250... but the green one on craigs list is ugly... yuck!
10/14/2006 12:12:11 AM
moderately fast is all in the eye of the beholder. some people might think a ninja 250 is fast. hell i was givin my sv gas today and it slid me back in the seat, gave me a smile .if it were ME i would stay away from 500's and 250's. but you might get on a 500 and feel like it was fast.i know when i got my gsxr i was riding around the parking lot at 15-20mph in 1st gear and i felt like i was going so fast. i also remember feeling like if i cracked the throttle too much i would take off like a rocket and fly off the back. i also remember hitting the front brake to hard and busting my balls .oh yeah on my second night out some kinda 300m supercharged try to race me. i was like hell yeah cept i didnt have my shifting down. i beat him in 1st but then he passed me when i got stuck in neutral doh!lol i also remember practicing for 1 week up and down beryl road and then on the first night of having it out on the real streets laying it down in front of igor [Edited on October 14, 2006 at 12:17 AM. I just don't know.. I want something I can put my feet down on...
10/14/2006 12:20:57 AM
if you getta 500 you might be able to put ur feet down on without modification. otherwise most 600's even that bandit will need to be lowered.
10/14/2006 12:23:39 AM
i wanna big bike damnit
10/14/2006 12:24:57 AM
My bro has a Bandit 600S and it's a good bang for your buck bike. I will say that it's fairly heavy (500 pounds) and sits high so it's more difficult to balance though. I actually dropped it in the grass tonight.
10/14/2006 12:40:36 AM
lol just buy 50 dollar lower links for the rear and slide the fork tubes up in the front. lowered.. done. wear some higher boots to let you flat foot while learning. after a while ull get used to balancing the bike on one leg. i think duke can only tippy toe.
10/14/2006 1:33:55 AM
^ forks up in the front will give her about inch if that. the bars you have might have to be changed to make about 2 inches her feet need to be flat on the ground( at least one)Do you have the stock bars?
10/14/2006 2:07:09 AM
dont get a katana.dont get a ninja anything.you can lower the ride height yourself or have it lowered if it is too tall
10/14/2006 2:52:59 AM
^^pm sent.. i gotz da stock bars
10/14/2006 1:16:46 PM
I actually rode the 250s they provided us and really liked my footing... i don't want to get something i wont have any control over Kinda is upsettin when people encourage you to get a bike that i can't even hold up... prolly much less ride... this is my life people!!
10/14/2006 8:33:02 PM
a firend of mine has a bandit 600 you could sit on and see how it feels to youthat sounds kinda dirty
10/14/2006 8:38:22 PM

10/14/2006 8:56:56 PM
i was thinking that too.. but is it something i might be able to control?
10/14/2006 8:58:45 PM
look at that 250 ninja up there, squirt. thats a decent price (possibly evenhaggle it down to 2000) and they are easy to resell
10/14/2006 8:59:51 PM
600cc's impossible no female rider ever has taken control of one.. evar(no offense you probz just didnt want to drop it, which i greatly appreciate! ) by the way you seemed really scared to sit on my sv and your looking for something to put your feet down on you should rock a gs500 (yeah or a 250 but fixing fairing is a pain ask jbazz). that would be a PERFECT bike for you. if you drop it, no harm done and parts are readily available for them at very cheap prices if u did break something. hell i rebuilt a r6... finding replacement parts is EXPENSIVE. same with rebuilding my old school hawk. gs500's are still being made today![Edited on October 14, 2006 at 9:03 PM.
