ANSWER THE QUESTIONWHAT THE FUCK IS UNREALISTIC ABOUT EXPECTING A QUARTERBACK OF A DIVISION IA SCHOOL TO BE ABLE TO THROW FOR MORE THAN 36 YARDS AGAINST A DIVISION IAA PROGRAMOh, that's right. You can't.Let me steal a page from your playbook: arog20012001pwntTHAT'S ONE EVEN MARCUS STONE CAN UNDERSTAND[Edited on September 4, 2006 at 7:21 PM. Reason : .]

you seem to have missed the point.there is nothing unrealistic about expecting him to light up a DI-AA school, but did he need to? we won the game, that's all that matters. besides, its the first game of a new season, give the guy a break.haha, i seem to have struck a nerve with this nerd.
9/4/2006 7:23:47 PM
I wouldn't say you've struck a nerve, though I do find your idiocy perplexing.I honestly didn't think that, in this day and age, people could be this inept, but you've done a great job of proving me wrong. So I tip my hat to you, sir, and look forward to what further excuses you'll make for Marcus Stone, the scourge of Division IAA secondaries![Edited on September 4, 2006 at 7:30 PM. Lets end this fucking argument right here. I don't know how much stone sucks, and neither does anyone else, because we ran like 6 plays the entire night. Reserve judgment until after Akron and SMU, or at LEAST Akron.
9/4/2006 7:32:02 PM
^^you're ridiculous...what do you suggest we do? throw the other untested QB's in? maybe you could play QB for us? please dude, get real...^exactly, thank you.[Edited on September 4, 2006 at 7:32 PM. Reason : .]
9/4/2006 7:32:05 PM
i'm not jumping into the debate - does anyone have a vid yet of the app QB vomiting while in the shotgun, then again on the way to the huddle? that shit was hillarious

Cause we ran 6 plays the entire night...and only threw the ball 13 times in the first place. I know he sucked last year, but he got the job done. He can not suck as bad this year as he did last year, but word is that he has improved. I dont believe it based on that game, but lets let them open up the playbook in these next two games before we jump on him. Chances are that he's going to suck, but I'll wait until next weekend to find out.

I dont think anyone is saying Burke is the next great NC State QB.I think we're saying that Stone is the current shitty NC State QB.
9/4/2006 8:40:27 PM
Charlie, I'm not disagreeing with you, because I know Stone blew last season. All I want is to wait a game before we start really going to town on him, because I dont think we saw enough plays the other night to figure anything out.And thats simply because the coaches say he's better...may be true, looks like its not. I meant nobody knows based on yesterdays game alone. [Edited on September 4, 2006 at 9:46 PM. Reason : ]
9/4/2006 9:44:32 PM
all i want is to see the ball get some air under itis that too much to ask?everytime we come to a third down i already know that Stone's gonna run the ball in some way shape or form and not make a first downi wished they'd just surprise me more often
9/4/2006 9:51:04 PM
i'm still wanting to wait on stone, but if burke was in i guarantee he wouldn't throw as many picks as stone. the guy is supposedly amazing with his judgement, he only threw like 6 picks and 50 td's his senior year.

Well, the difference this time is that Davis knew the offense all along. To Stone's own admission, he didnt know the offense very well last year, and he says he's better, and the coaches say he's better in that department. He's always had the physical tools, but its mental with him. With davis, it was opposite. I think its easier to get better in stone's situation from season to season. Like I say though, who knows based on that shit game the other night.

amato was talking in his presser today about quarterbacks coming out of HS that have "it" and quarterbacks coming out that need some work. And he said "We have a quarterback on our roster that has "IT""...............and its not stone, so who do u think he was talkin about
9/5/2006 1:20:27 AM
is that a serious question?
9/5/2006 1:28:54 AM
no, its a rhetorical question
9/5/2006 1:41:41 AM
AJ Davis played only the first quarter or something didn't he?
9/5/2006 11:40:31 AM
I thkink everyone can agree tha Stone didn't do very well last year, and the App state game pretty much showed that he hasn't improved at all. When a pass play is actually called, Stone either dumps the ball off on a little shitty swing pass or just gets scared and runs. I think most people were expecting him to just take a little more time in the pocket this year and make a forward pass every once in a while.
9/5/2006 11:57:10 AM
7 of 13 for 36 yards. Wow. How many run back yards did the guy that got the INT off Stone get? Probably negated our whole passing game with that one turnover. That said. A 'W' is a 'W', so I won't complain.[Edited on September 5, 2006 at 1:59 PM. Reason : -]

9/5/2006 2:05:19 PM
6-1 is shitty huh
9/5/2006 2:06:17 PM
Typical NC State thread. I love the school and have lots of pride. All I heard at the game was this sucks and that sucks (coach, athletic director, defense, offense, QB, etc.) Put on some god damn red and go to the game and cheer. Stand up, be loud, and be better fans than UNC and any other school. If you don't want to cheer, then leave. I think we have a lot of things to prove but we won. Marcus isn't Vince young but how would we know. He's 6-1 and was 7-10 at halftime. We're not going to throw vertical b/c it exposes the playbook and people (BC, South.Miss) will cover for that. Give them a chance.
9/5/2006 2:12:33 PM
Okay so we're not going to throw vertical because it exposes the playbook.I guess the coaching staff has a tough choice then...Should we save all our plays for when the conference season starts? Should we hide our playbook and get our ass kicked by Akron next week?Or do we risk using some plays vs Akron in hopes of winning the game...?[Edited on September 5, 2006 at 2:16 PM. Reason : z]
9/5/2006 2:15:50 PM
We run the same playbook and if we are down or tied at halftime, we throw something in. Now by saying this, I'm not promising execution.
9/5/2006 2:18:38 PM
we don't have a playbook that involves passingnorm chow took some of it with himphilip took the rest of it
9/5/2006 5:49:25 PM
I'm thinking Akron could beat us with 8 in the box, so here's hoping Stone learns to pass. The game might not have been on TV, but I think not completing a single pass in the second half will tend to make the rounds.I feel sorry for the receivers, but if that's how we'll be for the year we might as well go with a military academy triple-option offense.
9/5/2006 6:19:20 PM
hooray for penalties
9/9/2006 4:18:06 PM
did that constitute the "stone breakout" that someone asked about on page 5?
9/9/2006 4:24:37 PM
anyone got a screen shot of that last play?
9/9/2006 4:25:25 PM
Please get a shot of that last play!
9/9/2006 4:29:18 PM
You don't need a screenshot. The ball clearly broke the plane.
9/9/2006 4:33:07 PM
i dont care anymoreChuck Chuck

In the post game, Chuck said that stone in the 4th quarter is how he looks in practice. Aint that some shit.
