Here comes the positionless offense.

God, i hope ASU beats Illinois and faces Duke in the 2nd round of Maui Invitationalthose would be program defining wins.but we'll save that talk for the ****OFFICIAL 2007-08 Sun Devils Thread*****
10/18/2007 4:17:36 PM
http://www.eastvalleytribune.com/story/100469Herb just landed his second top-100 recruit for the '09 class6'3" point guard Jared Cunningham from California ps, it's not too late to join the Raleigh-area Sun Devils Basketball Fan Club. we will be meeting at Sammy's or Woody's on game nights (depending on who is having the better beer special that night). please wear Maroon or Gold. also note that if there's a Pack game that night, no worry. there's a 2 or 3 hour time difference and we can catch the 2nd half of the Sun Devils game. PM for more details[Edited on October 25, 2007 at 10:46 PM. Reason : .]
10/25/2007 10:43:57 PM
I can't remember a time under Herb's tenure where he landed so many top recruits and then didn't do anything with them. Things are looking up at ASU!
10/25/2007 10:45:25 PM
Don't go there. Your definition of nothing is bad.
10/25/2007 10:51:27 PM
asu's basketball ranking will be the reciprocal of their football ranking.meaning they will be really awesome.
10/25/2007 10:54:09 PM
^^ English plz?
10/25/2007 11:15:10 PM
Finishing top 4 in the ACC, the best basketball conference, year after year is not doing anything?I will never understand why most of you all hated Herb so bad when he was clearly superior to Chuck. I said that all along. But I am not going to start that argument.
10/25/2007 11:16:40 PM
Landing top notch after top notch recruit and doing no better with them than he did...is indeed, not doing anything.
10/25/2007 11:18:12 PM
See that is what I don't get. Sure the recruiting was good, but not great. Herb got 4 McDonald's All-Americans will he was here. Hodge, Sherrill (Who wasn't THAT good), Wilkins (who transferred, also wasn't that good), and Costner who played exactly 5 games for Herb. UNC and Duke bring in 4 McDs a year. His recruiting was usually in the 20-50s range, which if you take the time to look, is where we ended up being ranked.
10/25/2007 11:21:28 PM
Fair enough. Glad he's gone.
10/25/2007 11:25:42 PM
Didn't he quit? Why the fuck is there a 6 page thread on our old coach? Are you gonna send him a fucking Christmas card too?Sign it "we miss and love you?"This is pathetic and completely passive agressive. Is the end goal to hopefully one day have some proof that Herb Sendek is better than Sidney Lowe?
10/25/2007 11:27:39 PM
This is just a thread for people who are losers to make themselves feel better.Just be thankful that no one listened to these idiots.

10/26/2007 2:13:53 AM
wow, you people really oooze class
10/26/2007 9:34:44 AM
too long did'nt read.but i will say that herb sucks. give it up idiots.
10/26/2007 9:48:04 AM
Hey, I know, let's show our dissatisfaction with how our fans treated Herb and ride his nuts into the sunset!!
10/26/2007 10:28:45 AM
i'm not saying to lock this threadi'm just asking people to not post in it
10/26/2007 10:31:45 AM
10/26/2007 10:32:20 AM
you spell caliber like a tarheel faggotsuspend
10/26/2007 10:33:12 AM
this discussion has gotten out of hand.face it, there are people who like Herb and want to see him do well. he is a former NC State coach, will always be linked to NC State and should always be able to be discussed on an NC State board.if Damien Wilkins had a breakout year for the Sonics and was an All-Star, would we not be able to discuss him here since he left NC State? are we really that obtuse?
10/26/2007 10:55:43 AM
would we spend 6 pages talking about somebody who transferred to georgia?i dont wish ill will on sendek...but why dont you create a "Florida State defense" thread to ride amato's jock? did you pull for our basketball team because you went to NC State or because of Herb?
10/26/2007 10:57:17 AM
a little of both
10/26/2007 11:10:54 AM
well i think the reason that you're getting some amount of negative feedback for this thread, is because most of us pulled for State's bball team because we were state students/fans...same reason we pull for State in any sport...regardless of who the coach is...and i was not one of the herb haters either...i supported him while he was here cause bitching about wanting him fired is just wasting your breath...but he's gone now...so good luck at asu herb...but Sidney is the fucking man in Raleigh right now
10/26/2007 11:15:46 AM
I wish Herb all the best too. I liked Herb. I was sorry to see him part ways with NCSU.BUT- its kinda wierd and a little bit gay to actively go out of your way to root for the Sun Devils and catch all their games.... Because of ONE MAN. If I happen to randomly run across an Arizona State game on TV- I will root for Herb without question. But thats the extent of it. Joining the Sun Devis Fan Club and vehemently rooting for them is not normal.
10/26/2007 11:52:12 AM
10/26/2007 12:15:32 PM
^true...i guess i shouldve said more specifically, creating FIRE HERB threads every day in sports talk didnt do much good...its when the big ballin rich alums who donate money to the program started to get frustrated...not just us average joe students
10/26/2007 12:18:27 PM
I root for Herb to win at ASU because I like him. It doesn't consume me but I hope he has success there. It's just hypocritical to see the same people who bitch about how BC doesn't give any credit to TOB for getting them to where they are and then in the same breath refuse to give any credit to Sendek for getting our program to a level where Sidney could step in and continue to build momentum.Lets face it, if Sidney took over the program where it was when Herb took it over, we wouldn't be looking at a Top 25 ranking preseason in his 2nd year. Debate that all you want, but it's the truth. I'm perfectly happy where our program is and who our leader is, but I also think a lot of our current position is thanks to Herb Senek.[Edited on October 26, 2007 at 12:21 PM. Reason : crucify me now]
10/26/2007 12:20:37 PM
^winner
10/26/2007 12:29:11 PM
I happily acknowledge the program's improvement with Sendek...however
10/26/2007 12:30:46 PM
If Sid was the coach, Jeremy Hyatt, Ishua Benjamin, Al Pinkins and Tim Wells would have led us to the promised land!!!The talent level was so disgustingly low his first few years that Adolph Rupp couldn't have taken the team to a Top 25 preseason ranking. Sorry.. that is an opinion, yes. Now quit playing semantics and tell me do you think that team, no matter who was coaching, would have been a preseason Top 25 team even if you add in a Hickson type recruit? If you say yes, then stab yourself in the Adams apple.[Edited on October 26, 2007 at 12:47 PM. 10/26/2007 12:46:06 PM
NyM410 FTW!I was going to come in here and say NCSU with Herb = BC with TOB. Both are very respected coaches who brought their programs out of the shitter. Then we look exactly like BC when we bash Herb. If you cannot acknowledge what Herb did here, then you obviously don't understand sports or basketball.
10/26/2007 12:51:48 PM
Yeah but as said before it's really creepy and kinda pathetic to follow his exploits as an extension of NCSU. He's not even alum, just an interchangable part of our coaching history. So what, he's out, who gives a flying fuck in a barrel about him now - why dont you try talking up NCSU basketball instead of acting like Miller Safrit for the fucking shitty ass Sun Devils and Herb goddamned Sendek.Or better yet, go post this trash at ASU message boards, I'm frankly sick of seeing this steaming pile of no charisma, chopping wood, mr. mediocre, herb ass sendek bullshit floating to the top. It wasn't hard to bring our program back from Les Robinson days, it sucked so bad it had no where to go but up.
10/26/2007 12:54:02 PM
Jimmy V was fired. He is just another interchangeable coach in our teams history. I better not see any more threads devoted to him.Yes, that is as idiotic as I intended it to be. No matter what people want to think, Herb is a part of our basketball past and as it is right now, a large part of our basketball present.
10/26/2007 12:56:06 PM
10/26/2007 12:57:10 PM
LOL, nice example with BC They seem to be doing pretty well now that TOB is gone. Likewise, NC State BBall is in better shape with Herb gone. Recruiting is up, and our team played with more heart last year than they ever did under Sendek.
10/26/2007 12:57:44 PM
^The comparison is to show how both respective coaches got there program to the point is at. READ please. No shit BC is doing well. Are you going to tell me that TOB had nothing to do with that? Just like Herb got us to where we can talk about doing well like we are in basketball.
10/26/2007 1:00:31 PM
Not to mention it actually looks interesting again instead of watching paint drying or our positionless soup of a scheme jacking 3s as we spin round and round in boringness. And to compare TOB with anything right now is stupid, wait for a couple of years before you judge what he will do, it's so retarded to try to claim you know how he will do. And Amato was a jackass, so I'm very glad he is gone. Very glad.
10/26/2007 1:01:15 PM
They aren't doing any better than they have in the past. They always start out fast and then blow their shit at the end of the year. This year, they just happened to be able to take advantage of a wild season where no one will likely be undefeated. Nothing more...I think NC State will be better in the longrun but I can't be 100% sure. Right now, the success BC is having is attributable to the program that TOB built. Just like, right now, the success that NCSU MIGHT have, is attributable at least in part, to the program that Sendek helped to rebuild. In my opinion, what TOB did at a school like BC is far more impressive than what Sendek did here... but that's just me.Actually the paralleles b/t TOB and Herb are pretty fascinating. Both took over teams with nice history who were killed by probation and scandal. Neither was ever appreciated and both moved on while the programs they helped build are still reaping the rewards.^ what the teams look like really has nothing to do with success or reality. Also, no one is making predictions on what TOB or Herb will do... at all. Comprehension as to what our point is would be nice. I don't think anything I wrote was too difficult to understand in all honesty.[Edited on October 26, 2007 at 1:04 PM. Reason : x]

Maybe you guys could find and win some of Herb's pubic hair on ebay. That way you can rub his pubic hair all over your face when you post in this thread about how great he is/was.
