yes it has blu-ray, who wants to start the bidding?
10/10/2006 1:43:31 PM
ill bid its perceived value. 25 bux.
10/10/2006 2:15:13 PM
With the lack of consoles at launch (400k)...whats the motivation for third parties to develop games?
10/10/2006 2:18:24 PM
not only will the ps3 be superior to the xbox360 but it will also fetch more money
10/10/2006 2:21:58 PM
man is this thread still around? forgive me...i've been so busy playing my xbox 360 for the last 11 months...boy it sure is a great game system
10/10/2006 2:24:01 PM
yes it is great to have a 360...i love mine but i need some money so its time to find a ps3 to sell
10/10/2006 2:24:54 PM
Wii all the way!
10/10/2006 2:35:17 PM
I have 3 PS3's if anyone wants to buy 1 for a nice premium
10/10/2006 2:39:58 PM
one thing you should remember is that Xbox360 was the FIRST and ONLY system out last year. the prices may or may not be as high as you all think considering there are 2 viable alternatives to the PS3 this xmas.[Edited on October 10, 2006 at 2:53 PM. Reason : you'll get above retail, but 2000? we'll see.]
10/10/2006 2:53:10 PM
Guy already has one of the ps3's with bid of 940 on ebay.... so i mean if nothing else people are going to make some profit off of it [Edited on October 10, 2006 at 3:01 PM. Reason : Bid still going up ]
10/10/2006 3:00:38 PM
i think i'm gonna list one on eBay even though i dont have itthen if i cant produce 1 30 days after the auction, i just refund the money
10/10/2006 4:24:22 PM
thats not a bad idea, put one on ebay for 5000.00 when they pay use the money to buy one for 1000 and keep the rest
10/10/2006 6:00:23 PM
haha i like how someone is trying to sell PLAYSTATION3.PS3.ebay.seller@gmail.com on ebay.
10/11/2006 12:59:49 AM
the ps3 package isnt even going to have an hdmi cable included, only composite according to this article...http://ps3.ign.com/articles/738/738409p1.html
10/16/2006 10:31:45 AM
^that's the least of my worries, considering you can get an HDMI cable for 5 bucks...
10/16/2006 10:40:33 AM
i guarantee most everyone will buy into it and buy sony's $100 cable...all the moms and dads buying them as presents, its just another way for sony to make money....the way i read into it is that its not a regular hdmi cable but a special kind...like how you cant just get a composite cable for 360, you have to use the official composite cable that has composite on one end and the 360 connector on the other...but who knows, maybe its just a simple hdmi cable
10/16/2006 12:46:17 PM
WII FTW
10/16/2006 12:48:40 PM
we did win WWII.
10/16/2006 12:49:48 PM
^^^ it is just a standard HDMI cable... there are not other kinds. What I mean is, it is in the HDMI spec that the connector has to be the standardized HDMI plug.
10/16/2006 12:51:35 PM
11/2/2006 8:42:34 AM
but why would you want to buy the 499 tard version anyhow
11/2/2006 10:50:22 AM
^^ howid rather have it an option to buy (which the add on makes it the same price as ps3) than to have it included that i prolly wouldnt use
11/2/2006 10:53:27 AM
^^I would just rather chalk up another $100 to get the 60 GB HD anyway.
11/2/2006 10:55:00 AM
yeah, if you know anything, you would have read by now that basically what sony is doing with those 25gb discs is making games that use about 4-5gb of space, and then they tack on 20gb of high def cutscenes and whatnot...there has been quite a few articles on it.theyre the same price though...ps3 - 599.99 (w/blu ray)360 - 399.99 + 199.99 (hd-dvd; optional) = $600
11/2/2006 11:08:04 AM
and thats barring a price drop/package deal somewhere.somebodys gonna offer the 360 and hd kit for like $50 off somewhere
11/2/2006 11:09:57 AM
besides the point, im not buying movies for $25+
11/2/2006 11:11:31 AM
^Well, most of those Collector's Edition DVDs out now are right around that price range as well as some seasons of TV shows.
11/2/2006 11:13:42 AM
yeah, but im not one for buying alot of dvds, only the ones that are necessary...im just trying to make a point that it having blu-ray built in is not a selling point for me
11/2/2006 11:23:56 AM
OK. Well, the first PS3s will definitely have bugs, so I'll probably wait a little while before I get one. I'm just glad you can transfer your PS2 saves to the PS3 with an adaptor. I have like 30 PS2 games that I'll probably keep so it's a selling point.
11/2/2006 11:35:14 AM
PS3 isn't going to be able to keep up with the graphics it is trying to process, there are still going to be long load times for almost everything you do.
11/2/2006 12:04:34 PM
11/2/2006 2:35:48 PM
look on this site...they had such articlehttp://www.gamesindustry.biz/index.php
11/2/2006 2:55:02 PM
11/2/2006 4:46:44 PM
so has anybody gotten a PS3 yet? thoughts?
11/2/2006 5:08:58 PM
I HAVE ONE AND IT'S AWESOME I LOVE IT!!!!!111
11/2/2006 5:23:24 PM
awesome...he must be like hiro and able to live in the future
11/2/2006 5:31:50 PM
^^^considering there are currently two different next gen formats, and the "new format" that DVDs are moving to hasn't been standardized yet, the PS3 is hardly an "all in one product" But if one were wanting to move to BluRay, $600 for a player and game console vs $900 or whatever for a player is a pretty good deal. Especially if HD-DVD ends up being the VHS of this generation because then you won't have a $1000 paperweight. At the same time, if HD-DVD loses out, than you're not automatically paying extra for something you can't really use.
11/2/2006 5:39:31 PM
11/2/2006 8:09:28 PM
yeah i was just being disagreeable for the fuck of iti'm prolly gonna get a ps3 cause i got a lot of ps2 games...doesnt mean its the better one
