and all this time i thought we didn't recruit North Carolina.

^what the heels slander us with changes with the wind, this year the hot button is the schedule, last year it was the out-of-state recruiting, it has been academics, facilities, campus, girls, etc. in the past.at least we just call them gay fairweather fans year in and year out....consistency is important

http://scout.scout.com/a.z?s=178&p=8&c=1&nid=2660414We just got a commit from DL Curtis Bryant. Bryant hails from South Miami Senior High School. He had offers from Memphis and South Florida as well and attended our camp.
9/4/2006 10:29:00 PM
oh no, we're ignoring all of the NC talent. we've got too many players from Florida.
9/5/2006 12:22:04 AM
i wonder who we'll get next. hopefully Culliver re-commits sometime in the future.
9/5/2006 3:46:52 PM
I hope we can get Rodney Cox. On Scout it lists us as the only school he has "High Interest" in. He's 6-6 216, and would probably make a great WR based on his size. Who knows, if the rest of our QB's stink we could possibly throw him in there since he has experience as a QB. I'd love for him to turn out like a Calvin Johnson or other protypical tall receiver.Does anyone know how we stand with WR Jay Smith? Haven't really heard much on where he's leaning as of late.

http://tinyurl.com/q24m5http://scout.scout.com/a.z?s=178&p=8&c=1&nid=2750352there's a teammate of Linwan Euwell's that would more than likely commit if we offered him. his name is Sam Battle, he's a 5'-10" 235 lbs . he's supposed to be one of the top LB's in the state. having him and Linwan on the same team would probably be pretty good, b/c of the already built in chemistry they'd have as teammates in HS.Sam is on the left, and Linwan is on the right in this pic

Brass, http://northcarolinastate.scout.com/2/565003.htmlhes visiting us for the thursday night FSU game. good to see he doesnt give a shit about missing class or anything. hope we can put on a good show for him[Edited on September 7, 2006 at 11:32 PM. Reason : .]

A lot of recruiting experts said if he was just 2 inches taller he would have been a 5* recruit at QB. Wilson will play both baseball and football here. Rodney Cox is definitely a WR recruit, or at least that's how they list him on the recruiting websites.
9/26/2006 7:58:57 PM
russell wilson is nothing other than a QB. He could be the best QB on our roster next year
9/26/2006 8:44:25 PM
all of the sudden we're overloading qbs like we've overloaded runningbacks, it seems.we will have next year a evans (rs jr), burke (rs fr), beck (rs so) and this wilson character as a freshman (not to mention marcus stone will still be around). hopefully ONE of those 4 will get the job done.
9/26/2006 9:15:41 PM
^If we're under the scholarship limit and not kicking kids off the teams like a school down the road, I could give a shit less if we load up at tailback and qb...those are two pretty damn important positions, and we still have room to recruit the other positions.
9/26/2006 9:18:28 PM
It's not really "overloading" to have three QBs competing, and a fourth redshirting. If anything, the last couple of years taught us some lessons about not having quality depth at that spot.
9/26/2006 9:20:47 PM
both our stock of qbs and rbs would do a lot better if we recruited an offensive line, but you know, gotta take what we can get.
9/26/2006 9:21:13 PM
Of our 13 commits, 4 are OL and 1 is a TE. some of the ones listed as defensive linemen may end up on the offensive line. also Micah Grimes a 6'5" 285 lb offensive lineman has us in the lead. he was at the BC game, and was quoted as saying "It was awesome."

OTs and DTs are crucial...glad to see we're getting some good ones

10/2/2006 3:39:44 PM
In that highlight video his o-line looked terrible in high school, so perhaps compared to what he's use to our OL does look good.

^I mean really, no matter what carolina does on the field/court, there is always someone in the media there to catch their fall, and make things seem better than they really are
10/3/2006 1:14:12 AM
I think we should recruit Offensive lineman as a top thing. Of course they are not flashy or whatever, but the key to a good team starts at the o line
10/5/2006 4:06:07 PM
like 10 posts up
10/5/2006 4:14:09 PM
^but they all are 3 stars or below. linemen should be recruited from the midwest too.
10/5/2006 4:18:18 PM
how many recruits have we gotten from the midwest?we have no presence there
10/5/2006 4:19:40 PM
i'd like to think that if they wanted to they could recruit from the midwest. chuck is just in love w/ florida.
10/5/2006 4:27:56 PM
How the hell could we recruit from the midwest? There'd be tons of competition and we have absolutely no connections there.

^just to back that point up a littleBurt Reed just committed to the Gators, and went from a 1* kid to a 4* kid overnight. no matter what happens on the recruiting trail, the scouts are going to assign stars based on where a kid signs. if he signs with Georgia, Miami, USC, Auburn, Florida State, Florida, Ohio State, Michigan, etc. he is going to be a 4* or 5* these days.look what happened to Justin Burke last year, He was a 4* kid as a junior, and to start his senior year, his stats increased, and he through for eleventy billion touchdowns as a senior, but after a commit to the pack, he dropped to 3*.this type of shit needs to be stopped....they should just rank the top 200 kids, and have the rankings stay the same the whole year, allow one change after their junior season. for all of the kids that are not ranked, or were not know about/good enough to be ranked, just call them "unranked" and let that be that. with the recruiting services, and ESPN's favoritism....if we keep going like we are going, there are going to be only 10 teams in college football that anybody cares about, and the rest of us might as well form a new Division II
10/12/2006 5:36:51 PM
^Yeah Toney went from 5-Star to 4-Star shortly after signing with us and they based it on his "poor performance" in some all-star game.
10/12/2006 8:36:36 PM
anyone with insider wanna post any NC States on teh list?http://insider.espn.go.com/ncf/recruiting/tracker/prospects?season=2007&action=login&appRedirect=http%3a%2f%2finsider.espn.go.com%2fncf%2frecruiting%2ftracker%2fprospects%3fseason%3d2007[Edited on October 12, 2006 at 9:02 PM. Reason : c]

^^wronghttp://scout.scout.com/a.z?s=178&p=9&c=8&yr=2005Justin Burke dropped from 4* to 3* after a state championship and eleventy billion yards and a 9-1 or better td-int rating.
10/12/2006 9:06:10 PM
Burke dropped a star during the summer before his senior year and a couple of weeks before he committed to us. The dude who ranked him 4* said he did so primarily based off of word of mouth without seeing any video (that says a lot right there) but decided to downgrade him after seeing his junior video. He didn't get downgraded because he committed to State, but the reason he did was just about as pathetic.[Edited on October 12, 2006 at 11:49 PM. Reason : Baker dropped a star on Rivals - 1 yard on 2 carries in the Army AA game]
10/12/2006 11:46:27 PM
hopefully jay smith saw vt tonight. bunch of thugs.
10/13/2006 12:21:25 AM
^^whatever the reasons, it is clear that certain schools get the benefit of the doubt when giving star rankings1*-4* with a florida commit is enough for me, and this happens time and again
10/13/2006 12:38:36 AM
^^^^On Rivals he went from a 5-Star to a 4-Star.
10/13/2006 2:05:45 AM
Looks like culliver is out, pretty bad article on the scout network where he lists Clemson and Florida as his top 2 and South Carolina as the dark horse....not even a passing mention of the Pack, maybe chuckie needs to cut out the free ticket train!
10/19/2006 12:50:30 PM
we'll be there in the end with culliver, no doubt. it'll come down to clemson or ncsu.
10/19/2006 12:53:09 PM
^go read the article, and I doubt you hold the same opinion afterwards
10/19/2006 2:11:19 PM
who knows what culliver is gonna do? hes named about 4 different leaders throughout his recruitment. One article doesnt mean shit
10/19/2006 2:23:18 PM
if he doesn't want to play here, that's fine. i'd rather have the ones who are devoted WOLFPACKERS than someone who doesn't care about the school. I mean, we were one if not the first school to follow and offer him to which he committed. After one great combine, all of a sudden other schools are interested, ego gets big, and he wants to go somewhere else??? We don't need that type of player.
10/19/2006 2:28:19 PM
To make everybody feel better, If I were a 5 star football recruit ranked #1 in the nation....I would have commited to the Wolfpack last July.
10/19/2006 2:43:25 PM
I read the article. I've talked to Culliver. I've talked to Garner coaches.. I have a pretty good idea of what's going on here. He'll end up at NCSU or Clemson.
