2/17/2006 6:07:43 PM
I don't know why. It's not like Dan Quayle's English teachers apologized to him.
2/17/2006 6:08:42 PM
Aha. This guy is tough. 78 years only, gets shot, and recovers within a week.
2/17/2006 6:14:11 PM

2/17/2006 8:48:10 PM
something he shouldn't have to apologize for. it wasn't his fault the media turned on Cheney.[Edited on February 17, 2006 at 9:13 PM. Reason : peppered]
2/17/2006 9:12:52 PM
AND IT WASN'T HIS FAULT CHENEY TURNED ON HIM
2/17/2006 10:26:28 PM
^^ It's like saying "I'm sorry you were hit by that train."I realize it is none of my fault, but I am still sorry it happened.

2/17/2006 11:50:37 PM
I call BULLSHIT!!!ATTN Liberals: He got hit by a 28 guage (if you are curious about what that is plz pm me ) at 30+ yards with #8 shot... That contitutes running a dog out of your yard. He was "peppered" not "shot." Credit your media for being experts on firearms of any sort. Pussies don't know how small or rare a 28 guage is and they don't it's power(lessness.)The only danger was that the old man could have an eye out out, that didn't happene... so he and Cheney both should be eligible for the next personal hunter safety courses.[Edited on February 18, 2006 at 12:15 AM. Reason : hunter safety much?]

I think those pics are doctored. I watched the press release and he didn't look that bad. I don't think he would be that messed up from bird shot from such a distance. (The original article I read said 70 yards-I see different figures here.) He's alive, shit happens, people live, some die, life goes on-leave him alone. Just because he's the Vice President doesn't mean he can't make mistakes too-the guys alive, so it's all ok.
2/18/2006 12:52:08 AM
yeah, I'm sure FOXNEWS doctored the photos making him look worse.dumb bitch
2/18/2006 1:00:45 AM
Now Woody, would I make up something this good? Sure it's from a biased source, but it's still true. Most of the main-street liberal press ignored or down-played the story. This from the Wall Street Journal:
2/18/2006 1:14:56 AM
When do motorcades containing US senators stop at checkpoints? The security guard obviously didn't know what was going on ("I didn't know if we had a terrorist"-- don't you think he should have known?), and for all the driver in the motorcade knew, the cop was a terrorist. You do understand why someone driving a senator wouldn't stop when some random guy tries to wave them down, right? You're acting like Hillary was at the wheel. Pulling the proverbial trigger, if you will.oh yeah, OMFG (HILLARY) CLINTON DID IT!!1
2/18/2006 11:29:20 AM
seriouslyhave you ever been to dc when a prominent member of the house or senate comes rolling through?and as the first lady, wouldn't she have had a secret service detail?this just doesn't add upand guess who i trust more: the wall street journal (THAT LIBERAL RAG)ps:

Fuck Halo, ^That is what I was saying-I never said that FOXNEWS doctored the photos, and if you aren't retarded than you know that they have released pics before from not so reliable sources.
2/18/2006 11:22:03 PM
every photo by every news service has been photoshoppped at least a little
2/18/2006 11:24:29 PM
^I am not saying that that is not true.

And the assertion that it's a bunch of liberals originated with what exactly?
2/19/2006 10:34:31 PM
2/19/2006 11:25:44 PM
wtf did you just say

2/20/2006 7:10:05 AM
2/20/2006 9:39:27 AM
^ that is what he is talking about. The types of people that go into/are good at media are the types of people who think a certain way. John Stossel did a 20/20 special on it. When polled members of the media proclaim liberal views and when asked why proclaim "It's not just my opinion, but commonly held fact."John Stossel said it wasn't on purpose, it was simply group think.
2/20/2006 9:59:11 AM
um, I don't really think that group think applies to people who are spread throughout the country and are constantly connected to people outside their own groups. presidential administrations, for example, often start group thinking, because they're cooped up together in the white house, etc. oh, and I believe that the mccarthy era is when the whole "liberal media" thing got seriously started
2/20/2006 11:43:06 AM
Two points: People in the media tend to hang out with and be friends with people in the media (they work together, after all). People in the media tend to watch a lot of the same media. The New York Times is distributed nationwide for a reason. Secondly, people in the administration fly all over the country, meet a far larger swath of people that most media people which never leave their desks, and yet they still suffer from group think for the simple fact that "they tend to hang out with and be friends with people in government (they work together, after all)."
2/20/2006 12:43:48 PM
But in order for groupthink to be a factor they would need to not expose themselves to alternative views, which they do all the time. In fact, it's part of their job requirements.
2/20/2006 12:48:31 PM
2/20/2006 1:19:08 PM
^ Well, in the same sense that Cheney never leaves his desk. ^^ Not really. Just as exposing Kris to normal people has not affected his outlook on life, exposing a reporter to conservative nutjobs doesn't change their outlook. When all is said and done, the reporters go back to the water-cooler after awhile and are right back talking amongst other media people.
2/20/2006 1:27:13 PM
^ and ^^, exactlyThe administration, when it meets other people, rarely goes beyond meeting heads of state. There was a story a while back in which Bush & Co. went to korea for several days but ate at outback steakhouse twice while they were there. They isolate themselves from everything, even local culture, when they visit other countries.
2/20/2006 1:27:15 PM
Just to be LoL...outback steakhouse is an australian restaurant. They were taking in local culture as Australia is a south Pacific nation. Duh.
2/20/2006 2:37:56 PM
they have outbacks in korea?the president eats at outback?can i get a link plz
2/20/2006 2:42:03 PM
I was just looking it up myself...
2/20/2006 2:44:04 PM
2/20/2006 2:49:51 PM
So did they eat Korean food during the other 5 days there?Because I got the shits after 4 days of straight Indian food.
2/20/2006 2:51:59 PM
i get the shits after 1 meal of indian "food"
2/20/2006 3:03:03 PM
unknown, but the point stands. they still went to outback twice in korea.anyhoo
