Yeah well parking in ValPark Does Not do wonders for my "Oriental Blue Metallic" paint or whatever. Luckily, I'll be done with summer session in about a week, and won't have to go park there again til August 24th...

^thats great
6/16/2006 6:25:18 PM
a '95 m3 is on my "first 10 cars to buy should i win the lottery" list, but i don't like that so many people have m3's, especially on t-dub.
6/16/2006 9:09:03 PM
The only one I want is an E30 M3. A little rough around the edges...oh yeah.
6/16/2006 9:11:15 PM
^^M3s certainly aren't unique cars... Out of curiousity, why would you want a 95?
6/17/2006 12:57:30 AM
the man knows 3.0>3.2
6/17/2006 1:14:15 AM
don't you start that mess again s52 ftw
6/17/2006 1:32:25 AM
while we at estoril blue...there is a nice coupe '98 75k, near DC area. 13k asking. needs rear brakes. bone stock. been thinking about it for some time now.
6/17/2006 1:34:42 AM
^^^ also, i want the obd-i instead of the obd-ii, and the 3.0 has a better top-end. the only advantage of the 3.2 is that they have an additional ~10 lbs of torque and it peaks at the bottom-endish (better for drag racing, but not for road racing). the '95.5+ m3s are also geared slightly shorter, but it's a pretty negliable acceleration gain. besides, i wouldn't be keeping the m3 stock, so the only thing that really matters to me is the obd-i.[Edited on June 17, 2006 at 2:02 AM. 6/17/2006 1:48:15 AM
sorry but all 95s are geared the same, no 95.5. 95 is a 3.15, 96+ is a 3.23, so 96+ are geared shorter. Also the m50 manifold is easily put on the 3.2 with a total cost of 200 dollars or less, and in every way is better than the 3.0. OBD1 is not even a issue anymore, I can show you plenty more OBD2 cars making more power than you will ever make with the 3.0 OBD1.
6/17/2006 2:56:36 AM
ah, i was under the impression since bmw implemented the obd-ii about midway through the '95 production year (hence the "'95.5" i came up with), that it would also have been when they made the other changes, like with the differential.eitherway, i still want a '95.
6/17/2006 3:31:30 AM
obd2 came in 96. You are better with the 3.2 as it doesnt have valve retainer issues, it has more displacement (more power), and it has graphite coated cylinder walls (rings dont wear out as fast).
6/17/2006 3:37:21 AM
valve retainer issue was only on early build 95s.
6/17/2006 8:57:45 AM
Which is more than 50% of 95 m3s.

Sorry but this car is worth 8k at most.http://raleigh.craigslist.org/car/172530684.html1995 BMW M3, 5-speed, limited slip differential, 172k, black on black, luxury package, sunroof, all power, onboard computer, leather. This is an early build '95 M3 with a known valve retainter failure. Valve retainers, valve springs and new exhaust valves were put on the car. $2700 repair bill, have the receipt. Radiator at 140k, recent water pump, tires with 80% thread and a brand new full size spare. Car runs and shifts strong. The clutch is strong and will probably last the lifetime of the car. Engine has no problems, oil was changed every 3000 miles. It does not burn or consume oil. Car is still tight and composed. Areas needing attention: A/C is dead (compressor clutch needs to be replaced ($200 part) and ABS light is on ($75 fix at dealer). Car was involved in a single vehicle accident (no frame damage, rear bumper and part of the quarter panel was replaced) Body work is flawless. Leather seats show very little wear with a car of this year and this mileage. New intake boot and new front struts. Car has a dinan chip and X-brace. Have all service records including the original window sticker for $41k+ Price: $10400 negotiable. Possible trades will be considered. [Edited on October 19, 2012 at 8:52 AM. Reason : no cell #]

^no mention of suspension overhaul.makes it doubtful that it's "tight and composed"
6/20/2006 8:14:11 AM
yeah i know right....my '95 M3 with 140k and original suspension is lacking. i can't wait until i've saved up enough $$ for coilovers.
6/20/2006 9:07:50 AM
^wanna buy my H&R Sports and Bilstein setup? i *might* upgrade to coils in a bit.and since you wont track or autox your car youll be fine w/ good shocks/springs
6/20/2006 10:43:01 AM
that could be a good intermediate step until i can actually afford to track my car. so how many miles are on your current setup? is it stock height and how much $$ are you asking?
6/20/2006 10:45:15 AM
about 20k on the shocks/springs. bilsteins live a long long time so theyd be good as long as your car. i'm kinda talking out my ass, but id probably sell it all for.. *goes looks up prices*well the shocks new are $660 and the springs are $260ish. so thats over $900. I'd sell it all for $600? I still have my reciepts somewhere so one could exchange em if anything happens w/ the lifetime warranty.the setup is good and i really have no reason to upgrade. it performs better than i can drive, and it does beautifully at VIR and autox. very neutral.. im almost afraid to screw it up.but id like to be able to play w/ spring rates and corner balancing a bit. plus i need to spend more money so i can beat callahan. oh and its a little lower than stock. about an inch drop. it looks perfect to me. if i get COs i'm going to measure the heights as they are now and copy em. you can come drive and check it out if you want anytime. id also like to try your ltwfw and s50 out[Edited on June 20, 2006 at 11:01 AM. Reason : fdfdf]
6/20/2006 10:58:19 AM
^^^^^^price is negotiable, so obviously i dont think it is worth 10400. oh, and ask me if i care how much you think it is worth. on TWW it is probably worth $500. suspension is not original. new shocks and radiator 30k ago.
6/20/2006 11:41:29 AM
and no AC and ABS light on? Why would the ABS light be on if it just needed to be reset? sounds like a bunch of hidden problems to me. Not to mention it has been wrecked.
6/20/2006 12:02:59 PM
you buying it?
6/20/2006 1:09:22 PM
I'm actually considering making an offer on it...Ahmet
