2/12/2006 3:26:34 PM
just watched the finale, and that was 2 hours of some of the funniest TV i've ever seen. And excellent show, and a shame it's probably going to be lost.

2/28/2006 3:41:59 PM
when i see something officiallike a commercialthen i'll get exciteduntil thenmeh
2/28/2006 4:06:38 PM
let's hope it's true!
2/28/2006 4:07:51 PM
It was a decent show for broadcast, but there's no way I'd pay to see it.
3/1/2006 7:39:19 PM
3/1/2006 7:40:12 PM
3/3/2006 7:25:26 AM
If it was on showtime, does that mean they would do it for a full hour, or at least 30 minutes without commercials?
3/3/2006 7:52:20 AM
wonder if they would turn up the inappropriateness too.and if that would be a good or a bad thing.
3/3/2006 7:59:33 AM
hmmm, yeah, part of the appeal was that they were really pushing the limits of broadcast TV, mostly by subtly diverting around being blatantly or obviously vulgar (that is, according to the FCCs rules by not using actual curse words). They made lots of subtle jokes that had double meanings, which I guess is why they could get away with it ("Who'd want to visit that musty old clap-trap" "...... ah, the cabin... right")It was also extremely funny when they bleeped out words like Pussy in some circumstances, but not in others. Which, if they were on Showtime, they wouldn't have to bleep it at all.....
3/3/2006 9:02:39 AM
yeah, i totally agree. But I think the bleeping kinda added to the charm. It's not like you can't tell what they're saying.I some other instances, like when Buster flips out talking bout his mom, the bleeping was the joke. I don't think it would be as funny if you could actually hear what he was saying.Let's hope they handle it ocrrectly. I'm sure they will.
3/3/2006 9:39:15 AM
yea i agree
3/3/2006 9:47:27 AM
Showtime has put two 12 episode seasons with a third season option on the table. Mitchell Hurwitz has another day or two to accept the offer or not. Here's hoping he takes it.
3/23/2006 2:47:08 PM
my favorite thing about the bleepingis that in addition to not audibly hearing it, you cannot visibly show the curse word eitherso you see the lengths they go to hide the characters mouthand that really does add to the humor
3/23/2006 4:08:41 PM
they could still keep to this idea. since this is loosely supposed to be a fake reality show/documentary, right?
3/23/2006 4:09:52 PM
At first it was, and then it moved away from that a great extent due to the plot.
3/23/2006 4:18:00 PM
when was it supposed to be a pseudo-reality show?
3/23/2006 4:19:18 PM
At the very beginning, it was a pseudo-documentary in principle, hence the names on the screen, etc.

Yea, that show was finished.
3/28/2006 6:36:56 PM
I'm glad honestlyi like the idea of the three respectable members of the family running away(well, if what george sr was saying was true, he's respectable)
3/28/2006 9:39:08 PM
Sucks, Any word on when Season 3 is out on DVD?
3/29/2006 7:02:14 AM
i thought they made it obvious it wasn't going to go into a new season, the way they ended itif it did, it would be an obvious money thing, and the show would be bad
3/29/2006 8:32:18 AM
seemed like they left it just open-ended enough to pick it back up if they decided to.oh well, RIP Arrested Development. This might've been for the better.
3/29/2006 9:03:45 AM
it was a great show while it lasted, I still have scrubs and south park
3/29/2006 11:03:24 AM
3/29/2006 1:32:32 PM
^^^^ Every season opened with Michael and George Michael in the process of leaving their family, so there's no reason a new season couldn't open with them halfway to the beach house on the yacht.
3/29/2006 4:07:33 PM
"Oooooh I wish you hadn't said Arizona"
3/29/2006 4:41:15 PM
btttSeason 3 for $20 on amazon.com, ships August 19th, I thinkshows still dead as far as we know, right?
6/22/2006 4:12:16 PM
All right.I've been watching the DVDs. At the end of the pilot episode and at the end of the "Meet the Veals" episode, what's the song that's played? The snippet they play is just "Whatcha tryin' to say to me?"I've googled and googled to no avail!P.S. "He just wants to see boys' linuses."
7/18/2006 3:09:40 AM
I think it's just an original made for the show
7/18/2006 1:29:37 PM
Yeah, that's what I kinda figured. But I thought I'd check to be sure.It sounded a little like Our Lady Peace, so that's why I thought it might be a real song. But I couldn't find anything.Oh well.Season three comes out soon, and that rules.C'MON!
7/18/2006 1:36:10 PM
I popped in disc 1 of season 1 today because of this thread. It made me smile when Maebe didn't enjoy kissing Steve Holt.
7/18/2006 1:40:51 PM
That's a CROWN you horse's ass!
7/18/2006 1:47:40 PM
The song in question is by Leroy and is called "Gonna Get Together."
7/18/2006 1:49:53 PM
I had a feeling if anyone knew, it'd be you. Sweet. Thanks. "If I have to take a chubby, well I'll just suck it up!""That's enough family time."

It's a video camera for when they put you in a naked pyramid and point at your Charlie Browns.

I really want Gob's magician theme music as my ring tone.
7/30/2006 2:39:51 PM
