10/24/2005 8:12:18 PM
what is the attendance like at canes games this year?
10/24/2005 8:13:42 PM
wow, I'm actually digging thisI used to hate hockey
10/24/2005 8:17:54 PM
As for attendanceOpening night against Pittsburgh was 18,787, which I think is a sellout, and then against Washington it dropped to 10,968. No idea about tonight; looks like some sections are pretty full, while others near the front have a lot of empty seats.
10/24/2005 8:20:17 PM
is it my TV or the broadcast that is fucked up?
10/24/2005 9:27:37 PM

I just got home from the game. It was awesome! Gerber played a great game. I couldn't believe how many shots we gave up while we were on the power play. Luckily Gerber stopped all those shots!!! 44 Saves is amazing! Good game! The attendance looked better than at the Washington game. They will post the official number before long.
10/24/2005 9:58:22 PM
10/24/2005 10:14:23 PM
Senators may very well be the best team in Hockey, but we sure are fucking strong.
10/24/2005 10:18:49 PM
damn right we are...gerber played suprisingly well.... i was afraid after that first game with him in net
10/24/2005 10:22:23 PM
i heard attendance was right at 10k, but that was not counting gameday walkups#1 in the southeast, canes are a force
10/24/2005 10:44:34 PM
Official attendance was a shade over 12K.
10/24/2005 10:48:07 PM
10/24/2005 11:09:19 PM
^Gerber venturing out to play the puck scared me a bit. Actually made me quite nervous. I am just glad more bad things didn't happen while he was out of the net. I remember one time he played the puck and gave it to a Senator who almost before he got back in net took a shot on goal. That really scared me. But he did make some great saves and he got the W! So I'm happy
10/25/2005 12:39:37 AM
i thought gerber was gonna get a trap violation a few times..
10/25/2005 12:54:26 AM
It could've been worse. Belfour got caught trying to come back from the corner and the B's poked it past him for an easy score.
10/25/2005 1:10:38 AM
I know what you all mean about this game. I was there 2 rows behind where we scored both 2nd period goals and behind Gerber's amazing saves in the 3rd period. That had to be the sickest game i will see for a long time. Im pretty sure they said attendance was around 12 thousand and change...I thought it was less because the crowd was pretty quiet throughout the game until we started coming back.
10/25/2005 12:01:59 PM
After the first few minutes of the game I thought, "Oh no, it's another Storr" (great stats on previous teams, horrible once they get to Carolina). SO glad that I was wrong on that one
10/25/2005 1:50:00 PM
Storr only had great stats in two seasons in the '90s. Gerber outplayed Giguere all through '03-'04.[Edited on October 25, 2005 at 1:54 PM. Reason : ;]
10/25/2005 1:53:14 PM
storr sucked everywhere.
10/26/2005 12:25:34 AM
They announce which goalie was going to start tonight?
10/26/2005 10:54:31 AM
No word in the preview on the Canes site, and Cam is no longer listed as DTD, but I'd be willing to bet that Gerber will get the nod again. We'll find out at 6:22, I guess.
10/26/2005 11:05:40 AM
Disappointed that I didn't go Monday, but I'll be there tonight. Go Canes!
10/26/2005 11:47:55 AM
328 bringin' the ruckus
10/26/2005 12:00:05 PM
119 tonight...but gotta represent the black and gold!I'm hoping it's gerber tonight, I think the Bruins have a better shot at winning against him. Especially if he continues his puck wandering ways.[Edited on October 26, 2005 at 12:13 PM. Reason : ...]
10/26/2005 12:12:34 PM
^yep... he looked like ass against the sens. Only made what, 44 saves? Get the fuck out of here w/that bullshit
10/26/2005 12:15:37 PM
BS my ass. Of the 2 goalies, Gerber is currently the weaker goalie. And his propensity to come out and play the puck doesn't help matters any. Not to mention he had a shaky start in the first period. The second goal he allowed was entirely his fault for not keeping that short side covered. Anyway my point stays the same, of the 2 goalies I would rather face, the Bruins best shot is against Gerber. BTW did you see the game against TB?
10/26/2005 12:53:38 PM
^^ yeah i agree that Gerber is prob the worst of the 2 goalies but you have to understand that he came of and injury and was prob pretty nervous at the start of the last game But looked really solid the last couple of minutes of playEither way you look at it i wouldnt want to face Carolina now[Edited on October 26, 2005 at 1:11 PM. Reason : doh]
10/26/2005 1:11:27 PM
Depending on what time I get out of class tonight I am going to do my best to make it to the game. The N&O has Gerber listed as probable starter. I think he will probably get the nod as well. C.Ward will hopefully start on Friday. But we'll all find out in a few hours!Go 'Canes

10/26/2005 2:47:13 PM
Gerber had a shaky start, but the second goal wouldn't have happened if he hadn't flinched at Spezza. He had the short side completely covered and then he moved his knee and opened up.Ward has more talent, but Gerber is coming off a hot game so you HAVE to go with him. If he wins, or even if he plays great in a loss, you have to go with him again on Friday.BTW, just for comparison's sake:Martin Gerber - 3 GP, 2-1-0, 2.31, .928Cam Ward - 7 GP, 3-1-1, 2.53, .910Andrew Raycroft - 8 GP, 3-4-1, 3.30, .896 Hannu Toivonen - 3 GP, 1-1-0, 4.49, .869
10/26/2005 3:02:41 PM
It's important to note that the Bruins haven't played any softies (Re: caps x 2) yet which DEF. help GAA
10/26/2005 3:32:55 PM
Fine, forget the GAA (BTW, if the two games against Pittsburgh aren't softies, then what are? At least the Caps have won a game).Neither Bruins goalie is above 90% in SV%.[Edited on October 26, 2005 at 3:44 PM. Reason : d]
10/26/2005 3:42:53 PM
I'm not sure I'd consider the Pens to be softies since their record could just as easily be 5-4-0 if their OT games had gone the other way. With the exception of their season opener, they've been in every game they've played in.
10/26/2005 3:51:37 PM
I think you can skew it both ways. I've only seen 3-4 of the Pens games, but other than one, it's the Crosby and schlubs show (much like the Caps and Ovechkin). All that still doesn't explain why Raycroft and World'sWidestButterfly (what is it with Finns and flexibility?) can't stop nine of ten.FWIW, practice today indicates that Hannu will start.[Edited on October 26, 2005 at 3:58 PM. 10/26/2005 3:57:07 PM
That wouldn't surprise me....they want to keep razor fresh for tomorrow against the leafs.
10/26/2005 4:09:20 PM
who has center ice?
10/26/2005 7:54:20 PM
we're going to oooooooveeeeeeeeertime
10/26/2005 9:27:02 PM
