this movie kicked ass.

just got back from seeing this movie. It sucked
10/31/2005 11:38:39 PM
Watched it with ^, it was creepy and gory...but in all-it sucked.
10/31/2005 11:49:15 PM
i just watched it - i was impressed - when the needles scene happened i can imagine a lot of people leaving
10/31/2005 11:53:50 PM
better than the first one, but that isnt hard to do. pretty decent horror flick though
11/1/2005 12:47:39 AM
more action-oriented than the first...i'll put them both on the same level; disturbing, but not that scary.anyone else think it was funny/stupid/racist/etc. that the scene with the most "jump factor" was when that amanda chick turned around and jonah (the black guy) was standing right there. god, i hope his name was jonah.
11/1/2005 1:24:17 AM
oh i forgot, i went to the Sunday 10:10 showing at crossroads and when i was leaving there was a guy and girl standing blocking the left right exit, apparently the girl had gotten literally sick and had started throwing up because of the movie....felt bad for herI've heard of people getting motion sickness and throwing up (i.e. Blair Witch Project) but i think this is the first movie I've ever seen/heard of someone becoming sick just because of the movie content[Edited on November 1, 2005 at 1:45 AM. curius what SAW I would have been if it didnt have to be cut for an R rating. 18 seconds.Theres an extra few seconds of Dr. Gordon cutting off his foot and Amanda playing with her cellmates guts. also; The color was made more even and the sound was altered because the MPAA had problems with the tone of the original cut shown in SundanceSAW II probably will get an uncut release.[Edited on November 1, 2005 at 3:37 AM. I think she didn't go for the trap door immediately because she didn't want to make it obvious that she was the real Jigsaw. If Xavier had broken in, it would have been pretty easy to smack him a few times with the bat.
11/1/2005 7:20:59 AM
of course. that would not be playing by the rules.
11/1/2005 7:30:37 AM
I thought the movie kicked ass...it wasnt scary, but it wasnt supposed to be scary, its billed as a gory, thriller which it isI'd definetly recommend this movie
11/1/2005 4:43:25 PM
SHE ISNT JIGSAWSHE IS HIS APPRENTICElolbut really her first test is the man when he wakes up in the room at the end of the movieK?k

mani dont know if I want a Saw 3i cant take the fast cut MTV editing another year
11/1/2005 5:19:44 PM
i think its funny they used the name of this guy's character as the main character
11/1/2005 10:47:16 PM
freedle
11/1/2005 10:48:17 PM
i hope to god that she doesn't wind up with AIDS or hepatitis in the next one. that would just push it a bit too far.
11/1/2005 11:12:40 PM
just saw it at 8 tonighti just remembered a quote that i dont think has been mentioned in the thread so farjohn told eric "when you're trapped in hell, only the devil can lead you out" or something like thatso i guess that could have been a bit of a hint at amanda leading daniel out?but that's probably obvious bc im usually slow
11/1/2005 11:20:30 PM
i think he told that to the guy who put them all there, Obi i think.they should have done more with him, and let that Fox reject get shot in the face.
11/1/2005 11:23:56 PM
^yea.....i think its something else
11/1/2005 11:24:09 PM
11/1/2005 11:25:17 PM
ok for some reason i feel like he said it when they were about to leave right before Eric pushed the elevator buttonill have to watch it again, there were a lot of flashback things to get organized
11/1/2005 11:26:33 PM
that was it. sort of a dead end there. i guess that would have shut the gas off?
11/1/2005 11:26:42 PM
too many easy outs
11/1/2005 11:27:58 PM
^7 (dweedle) The quote about the devil leading you out, or whatever was on Obi's tape and when he's in the furnace we see a flash of a shutoff valve that has the devil pointing at it and it says "release" or something like that. The only thing that I can't figure out is why Obi just sits there in the corner when he sees the shutoff valve. It's like he wanted to die there. Any thoughts on this one?
11/2/2005 12:18:18 AM
^ What someone mentioned to me was that the knob would have required him to cross the fire to reach it (at that point, the fire hadn't reached him yet).Another assumption was that he feared it was a gas line and would've only made the fire worse. In that situation, though, either of those would've been better (either live or die faster).
11/2/2005 12:26:41 AM
oh damni dunno why i couldnt piece that together well maybe because i thought john said it to eric but now i remember
11/2/2005 12:31:57 AM
The devil quote was definitely on Obi's tape. As to why he didn't turn the knob, I guess he didn't see it, didn't get the connection, or there was just too much fire to cross. You know, with 8 people and a house that big, you would've thought they could've found a weak point somewhere.

josh#'s - what do u think of my theory?
11/2/2005 2:34:51 AM
yes -- i think the case for the first guy being the informant is quite good. we know that jigsaw treats people differently, dr gordon gets the shaft in SAW I, but adam basicaly was given the chance to unlock himself and walk out. he was fucked with for just being a shadowy photographer. so its not true that the people in the benign roles of the puzzles have to have done somthing bad. then again maybe jigsaw just has something against photopraphers.drug addicts or self mutilators seem to get fairly easy puzzles. dealers, asshole cops and bad family people; not so much. so id say, yes i see nothing conflicting with the idea that a few of these people were addicts in addition or apart from being set up by the detective. if they were just nobodys who had been set up, you would think they would get smaller and easier puzzles and some of them would have lived[Edited on November 2, 2005 at 4:26 AM. I just saw this movie, and it's amazing. I dont get why Xavier felt he had to go kill everyone....all he wanted was the # on the back of their head.
11/3/2005 11:02:14 PM
I figured Obi didn't turn the knob because he was already tricked to turn on the furnace and lock himself inside, what's to keep the knob from being something worst?^My best guess would be because he thought as soon as they figured out what he was doing, they'd all be fighting for that needle in the safe
11/3/2005 11:12:05 PM
makes sense
11/3/2005 11:23:19 PM
haha - that's funny as hell - Xavier didn't even have a # written on the back of his neck - it looked like to me, after he cut that fat off the back of his big dumb neck. he was embarassed. so he put that shit in his pocket haha.
11/4/2005 12:08:53 AM
^^There's something worse than being burned alive? Knowing jigsaw's style, if it wasn't actually a shutoff, it would be something to speed his death along a bit.
11/4/2005 12:11:13 AM
maybe obi's jewish
11/4/2005 12:12:45 AM
if a guy gets the crap beat out of him with a toilet bowl lid again, i'll watch it
11/4/2005 12:20:37 AM
^yea...i rewatched SAW I...again... and te camera angle and editting of when zep gets beaten by a toilet bowl lide is so memorable
11/4/2005 3:20:58 AM
maybe Obi was still hoping that they would be able to open the doors still and didn't want to tempt killing himself faster by turning the knob. I was thinking that it would be something to turn the gas up and burn him faster.
11/4/2005 8:05:50 AM
i just thought the valve was on the other side where the flames were really raging. going in there would be certain burnination so he just clung to the far side and hoped for the best.either way i liked this movie better than the first one because it felt more cohesive. there were a lot of little things that bothered me in the house, but not enough to ruin my fun.just in case no one else said them (since im not reading that massive thread):1. oh no tiny little locks on the door, how could we possibly get in with this giant nail bat.2. find a window much? he cant have boarded all the air holes perfectly, just air it out enough to live an extra hour.3. convenient for their to be 2 identical abandoned houses and that one of them magically led to the middle-of-nowhere tunnel from the first (from a bedroom looking place no less). i havent seen number one in a while so i could be wrong about that though.other than that, die paige from degrassi you spoiled sport you.
11/4/2005 9:03:52 AM
there weren't 2 houses, it was only one house. The video feed they were getting wasn't live, remember? He was playing the tapes from the house. It had already happened and the boy had been taken out and transported to the safe in the warehouse where all the cops had been questioning jigsaw. I guess the dead people and stuff were removed before the cops got to the house.
11/4/2005 12:29:31 PM
11/4/2005 12:44:56 PM
i was thinking the cumulative effect of the gas was what was killing them, not just breathing it. i dont know much about nerve agents.i thought it was 2 houses cuz i didnt see any dead bodies in the house when the police went, but when he was alone 1 or 2 minutes eariler they were all over the place. seems like it wouldnt be hard for the popo to find him if they went to the same place either.
11/4/2005 12:50:52 PM
there were 2 houses, one where the swat team goes and finds an empty house except for video equipment broadcasting a non live feed.the second where donnie walhberg goes and walks through where there are still dead bodie and the lights are all off.the movie shows walhberg in the house before the swat team gets to theirs, the lights being off pretty much clues you in to the fact that the video wasnt live before the movie explicity says it. the lights being off also tells about walhbergs character a little bit and the loss of rational thought when in extreme situations. it would be easy to tell (by walhberg) with the lights being off and the length of time that the dead bodies appear to have been sitting there that the video feed he has been watching wasnt live and that something else was up.
11/4/2005 1:47:08 PM
^^well...the nerve agent really is a plot device. bottom line is, its a movie. in reality, they would never get access to a good nerve agent nor its antidote. good nerve agents cause near instant paralysis, and the writers made it look like a supremely rapid TB infection for the scare effect.[Edited on November 4, 2005 at 2:04 PM.
