def dont want Griffey..its time the Yanks start harvesting the minors a bit.
7/18/2005 9:39:19 AM
I know they dont need him but ive always loved Griffey and id love to see him in the pin strips. Hes gotta be a step quicker than bernie williams, as long as he doesnt tear anything. Still one of the greastest pure hitters, screw bonds dont ever come back.Go YANKEES
7/18/2005 9:45:03 AM
Thanks Bernie...routine pop up and you drop it...yadda yadda yadda, 3 more runs score for Texas, now a 10-9 Texas lead

7/18/2005 11:48:01 PM
nigga please...just b/c I don't post often in here doesn't mean I'm not watching the games.
7/19/2005 4:04:32 AM
watching ESPN tonight was sickeningyou'd have thought the yanks had won the pennant already
7/19/2005 4:06:59 AM
yeah, the announcers have been all over the Yankees jocks for some reason the last two games...its kind of annoying, even to me.
7/19/2005 4:55:55 AM
Old man Bernie is really starting to worry me. If we even want to think about winning the East's pennant we're gonna need someone solid out in Center. i mean not to mention our pitching woes, (Aaron Small on Wednesday?), but we should try to pick up some CF help and a new pitcher that is not Al Leiter.
7/19/2005 9:28:06 AM
7/19/2005 9:28:09 AM
i got my own solution to CF...Soriano!
7/19/2005 9:30:55 AM
Here is the the Yankees being in first place. Even with Bernies error.
7/19/2005 12:04:47 PM
Man I stopped posting cuz everytime I did post here after that big 10-game win streak they'd lose. And since I'm the most superstitious person...well, ever...I didn't want to jinx them anymore. This is probably my last post in the thread for another long while too.It is apparently too risky.
7/19/2005 12:21:48 PM
The 1st place New York Yankees
7/19/2005 1:42:30 PM
of course, it took buying al leiter
7/19/2005 1:49:33 PM
cause the minor leaguer who pitched against boston with an ERA over 9.00 and a record of 0-5 was definitely able to fill the gap of Wang.

9/29/2005 9:59:11 AM
A win tonight and another loss by the sox tonight we go into Fenway and with a 2 game lead....clinch the eastern pennant in their house. At the same time we are beating the sox....the tribe is winning putting the sox completely out of the playoffs.....what you call a WIN-WIN.....at least in a perfect Yankee fan world that is how it would be....but knowing these two teams it will probably be decided Sunday in the bottom of the 9th !! I LOVE THIS GAME !!!
9/29/2005 3:41:26 PM
A redsox fan a few cubes over at work today was talking smack to me how the Yankees are all bought and don't use the minors.... and just buy a new team each year. I told him that is the way of baseball these days....he disagreed, and then told me that the Redsox use thier minor league system and that is why they are world champs. I told him whatever, and that every team in the majors uses free agency and trades to build their team. He then challenged me to a bet (lunch) The bet was....who had more starters who started their career with the respective teams (Yankees vs Redsox) (incuding pitching rotation and closer). wins lunch.... so not knowing how it would turn out I reluctantly said ok. Here are the results....Hope this makes a little more sense...RedSox - Nixon, ViraticYankees - Jeter, Posada, Williams, Rivera, Cano, Wang, MatsuiI will admit Matsui is a stretch since he was already playing in Japan....but the Yankees have if nothing else won me lunch this year........ VaritekAnd didn't you leave out Cano?[Edited on September 29, 2005 at 4:27 PM. Reason : he came up through the minors]

Season's over; I can post here about stuff again. Cashman and Torre are back. Score. Word is Bowa's coming on as third base coach. I'd love it if Rags or Guidry could be pitching coach. That would be cool, but we'll have to see how it plays out. Don't know who's gonna be the bench coach. I'd like to say Mattingly, but he's just so good as the hitting coach. Maybe Paulie will come down out of the booth and sit on the bench. But that's just pure speculation by me. Gotta resign Matsui. Gotta get a centerfielder (Pierre, Hunter and Damon are the targets I'd guess). Need a set-up man for Mo (B.J. Ryan? Will Gordon come back?), and really, a bullpen that doesn't suck. Please don't trade away Small, Chacon or Wang. Brown's gone, thankfully, along with most of the sucky bullpen. I'd love to see Tino and Bernie back. I think we all know it won't be as every-day players, but I just can't imagine Bernie in another uniform. Hmm...can't think of anything else right now, especially since I'm supposed to be writing stuff for work. But it's time for the Winter Hot Stove!! Four months til pitchers and catchers report!

10/27/2005 12:09:47 PM
I am hoping Rags is the pitching coach.....not sure about bowa... he is a hot head and I hope George isn't using him as leverage to put pressure on Torre. Torre has proven that he can win regardless of having the biggest D-head in the world as an owner !
10/31/2005 9:45:32 AM
Well, Bowa's officially the third base coach, and Mazzilli is back as the bench coach.I'm reading Guidry is the favorite for pitching coach and Joe Kerrigan is the favorite for bullpen coach. Cashman just finished running the winter meetings in Manhattan, so there should be some contract signing news coming up in the next week or two. Matsui's gotta be resigned by Nov. 15 or he becomes a free agent, and we won't be able to negotiate with him until May. It's only been a week or two, but so far so good.
