Its on the website under advanced search. Its the most useful investing tool that I've ever used, but I think that you might have to be a fidelity client to use it.

so you believe in buying at the 52-week low? i always thought it's better to buy if it reaches the 52-week high. if it went up to the high, then obviously the company is doing something good, and it may go a bit higher. on the other side, there's a good reason why a stock would drop to the low, and more than likely drop below it

why not just pick some companies and do fundamental analysis to create a valuation

No, but if bad news results in a large drop in stock price, many times its an over reaction and the stock recovers by several percent within a few days/weeks (at least with larger companies, I haven't tried applying this to penny stocks). I'll find one and watch it, then buy when the price drop levels out.

Two things people are talking about
Yuan
North Korea's Nuke Test

Traders are hesitant to put on large positions in front of these events. Slow friday and monday.
Unemployment # beat by 100k yet no reaction? Priced in, or Asia is preventing any new buying.

i dont think it was priced in, but you're right about the Yuan and its iminent float

North Korea is an interesting piece of conversation even on the corporate investments/real options side

The first hint of the Ameritrade/E-Trade merger was around April 28th.

It's kinda a moot point to play stock market elitist when you are dealing with lemonade stand change. But I guess tdub would be the place to do this. God help if you are actually moving real money and still posting here.

^^hindsight...

actually, stay away from Boston Scientific

if by real money you mean a couple of thousands worth per trade, averaging a trade about every other week...

otherwise, it is lemonade stand money. i know i'm an amateur right now, no delusions about that.

Taste it, That trade is free money. The best part is If the EU crisis continues we could see another 5% -10% depreciation. Look for shit like this. These are the nice ones.

Actually it's Jim Cramer - but that's unimportant. I watch it, he's a damn madman... A crazy genius. I'd be curious to know what his blood pressure is.

I just bought Blackboard (bbbb) yesterday and today it went up .46! I used Blackboard when I took an English class from Wake Tech online earlier this summer. It seams like a good company and business model.

I got some dow diamonds so dat my teef be blingin.

Seriously though, I use McVean as a commodities broker. They've done pretty well with the portion of my assets that I've given them. I'm up ~5% in 2 months, which isn't bad. Of course I lost a lot when mad cow disease was found last week.

currencies fall under the comodities umbrella. i haven't found any affordable (and non-sketchy) groups that enable currency trading.

do you deal with a person or is it mostly online?

^^^ They handle the account for me and send weekly emails regarding my account status. As I understand it, they have a small team of analysts that meet all morning and then do their trading. They also send out a really good economic update every week, which is a big help with my personal stock trading.
