Also, fuck that host. They made a horrendous decision to have his little segments immediately follow the show on commercial breaks/show end. Earlier in the season there was some traumatic event that happened and everyone was all "whoa, what just happened?" and in shock, and go to commercial..."LOL WOW LOOK AT THAT, HOOPADOODILY DO". Totally killed the moment.

What? Are you saying that seeing the commercial for the show (after the show) killed it for you? Or the host of the show after the show was talking about what just happened during the commercial?

V Thanks. It doesn't bother me as much as the number of commercials but I can see how it's annoying.

after big moments at the beginning of the show, hardwick comes on and is all LOOK AT THAT, we're on twitter at #LOOKATTHAT

i will admit, it is a little jarring. i do like the nerdist podcast though.

I'd rather Kevin Pereira host it

Pro-Tip guys: record the show on your DVR, watch it later and use the button on your remote that looks like >>. It may take a few minutes to get the hang of it. But you can totally use the >> button to fast foward through the commercials.

Hint: this works for other shows as well.

I watched live for the first time during the last episode and followed along online using my touchpad. It was pretty neat although it would lag at times. They show some pretty sweet stills of killshots.

i record it & just start watching it about 20 minutes in. that way you don't catch up with live tv & you don't have to watch commercials, but you're not going to be too far behind for internet chatter.

I watched Sons last night and conveniently would pause it for 30-40 seconds at a time to get something to drink, take a leak, whatever...then by the time it got to a commercial, I'd hit the Live button and it would be about to come back from the commercial break

First half of the episode was slow and boring, but it definitely picked up. I have a very baaaaaaad feeling about Glenn and Maggie right now. I am glad Michonne finally joins the main group. Next week would be gut wrenchingly intense.

Don't you get it? They are already dead. Everyone is already dead. Everyone is the walking dead.

But yea, they are about to get fucked up from that preview. I hope Michonne and Rick go to Woodbury to rescue Glen and Maggie. Would be better if Daryl joined, but I doubt they would leave the prison in Oscars hands as the only real protection. Would be awesome to see a Governor vs Michonne and Rick vs Merle showdown.

Michonne could have easily helped them but just walking up behind Merle. I'm kind of disappointed she didn't help. At first I though, well... she doesn't know them. But she ended up going to the prison anyhow, so why not just help when should could have really done something?

I fully expect Darryl to be the one who kills Merle. However it happens or when, my money is on Darryl.

That whole phone thing was a complete waste of time, I mean, where are/were they going with that? Why would Rick's hallucinations tell him they'll call back in 2 hours to let him know if they will let him join? Is this a creative way of saying Rick was thinking about suicide and now he's okay?

Also, why didn't Herchel say something about the phone being dead?

I was hoping Merle would come back into the group but it doesn't look like that's going to happen.

The phone was dead, the phone thing was done in the comics to dramatize Rick dealing with Lori's death, the way they did it in the TV episode was a bit ham-handed and didn't really come off the same way. I'm just glad the TV show didn't spend that much time on it, because it was a part that really dragged on in the comics.

Agreed, I'm thinking Maggie will which will turn Glenn into a bitter badass. Also, I'm thinking that Rick/Michonne/Darryl (dream team!) will be sneaking into Woodbury in the future with Darryl eventually having to face Merle, Michonne facing the Governor, and Rick having to talk Andrea down from shooting all of them.

Hershel is sorta like the wise old sage. He knows Rick is going through some heavy shit and is kinda losing it. He's smart enough to know that telling Rick he's crazy is not a good idea in the current Ricktatorship.

I'm guessing he'll express his concerns for Rick's mental health to someone else in the group and some lame drama will ensue.

or perhaps they'll end the rick-is-going-crazy thing right here. i doubt it.

They kind of had to do the phone thing, since it was a big deal in the comics, however how/when they did it was very different. Either way, Rick is one zombie child away from being the Governor right now. The preview for next week seems to clearly have Rick, Daryl, and Michonne in the woods, probably going to Woodbury. This is a bit silly, since they are not leaving much protection back at the prison. Carl and Oscar are going to have to hold down the fort I guess.

Oh, and I keep forgetting to mention that Merle reminds me of Larry the Cable Guy.

Actually that does fit the scene since he offered to stay and wait for the people to call back but then didn't. It was like he knew that Rick needed to work it out for himself.

btw, how long was Carol in that room? She can't have been missing for more than like a day. If she heard Darryl and Oscar out there why didn't' she just say something instead of trying to push the door open? I can't imagine that she was gone long enough to be dehydrated to the point of not being able to make a sound.

Made for TV drama. Would you want Carol to just pop out and be like, top of the morning to ya, ole chum. Is it time for tea and biscuits? Oh and I've been hiding in this closet for a few days, turning my knickers into my personal loo. Has anyone seen TDogg?

Axel was in the generator room the entire time this past episode.

So what exactly did they bury if Carol was still alive in the lower levels of the prison? If they didn't have a body, why waste the man power that could have been used getting the place fixed up or even just clearing off the fences?

^my theory is that the virus turns people with IQs higher than 100 into walkers outright. That would explain why people in zombie movies make such poor decisions.

They buried the same thing as they did with Lori. Nothing. The graves were more symbolic in nature and a form of closure for the group. Regarding Carol, they just all incorrectly assumed that she had been killed and eaten. I still am puzzled as to why they didn't immediately look for her in the aftermath of her disappearing, or even talk about her. Like the entire group just wrote her off.

I get that the walkers at the end of the episode weren't interested in Michonne because she was covered in zombie guts, but that scene reminded me of the Key and Peele sketch about the racist zombies.

Also, the whole telephone scene with Rick reminded me of the "I Know You" stranger mission on Red Dead Redemption.

yeah, i guess you're right. i was thinking about how daryl and maggie went on a run for formula right after the baby was born and then glenn and maggie went on the run in this last episode, but i guess it's all the same day.
