Thanks to an advertisment playing during the Simpsons marathon my wife wanted to play this again so I downloaded Reaper Of Souls and reinstalled the whole thing. Haven't played in a year or two so I'm quite enjoying all the changes. I deleted all my old characters and started over, but apparently I was Paragon 5 back when I stopped playing.

I like the patch so far. The new gems are pretty sweet, and I like how there is incentive to keep playing to improve them. Saw the new sewers tileset in one of my rift runs, and it looks good. Still haven't gotten a goblin to drop a portal yet despite killing a ton of them. Yay RNG.

Bounty legs are 100% drop on t6 atm... just so everyone knows. Not garunteed a RORG obviously, but you're garunteed one of the act specific legendaries.... soooo go get them while you can before the decide 100% is a tad too high

are people running greater rifts solo or with a group? is there incentive to do one over the other?

I know you have to get to progressively harder level rifts if you want to still be able to update your legendary gems.

pretty much the only reason to do group rifts is for the group rift leaderboard. think theres one for 2,3,4. otherwise don't think any reason to group up for them.

also i was doing t6 bounties last night (guaranteed leg from bounty bag from the act specific loot table) and got a goblin portal to the loot zone. its INSANE. got like 65 million gold and a ton of imperial gems. the chest at the end after da boss had a loot esplozion and got 2 legs from it as well.

pretty sure Ramaladni's Gift and the treasure goblin portal are the two rarest things in D3 right now. I killed SO many goblins last weekend when they were showing up in pairs... not one portal.

I got a legendary gem (hoarder) from an Expert level goblin portal. Gold has been trivialized.

Make a gold find set, do T3-T6, seek out goblins, get portal, equip gold find set + hoarder gem...

never worry about gold again.

Arreat Crater port is short and usually spawns a gob.

they can be in your gear, but if they are, you can't upgrade them on a diff character.


IE if i rift on dh i can upgrade all but the 3 gems in my monks gear.

I have not tried to gear a level 70 in a while, and I know there have been numerous changes over the last year. Is trying to grind out the Ring of Royal Grandeur still a thing? Is it still done on Normal for speed?

Since 2.2, T6 bounty caches have a 100% chance to drop a legendary. So essentially you have a 1 in 5 chance of getting the ring now when you do A1T6 bounties.

i've kinda been thinking about playing this again, too. haven't played since release, and did have a good time with it. i loved diablo 2, but this game didn't have the same staying power with me...i just couldn't get over the lack of skill points/attribute points that seemed to cause a lack of individuality. has that been addressed at all?

Post Level 70 you start earning Paragon Levels which give you points to further increase several attributes.

I don't think so. My understanding is that it increases with difficulty, but I was only running it on T1 at the time solo. With the additions of the Seasons and the Cube, this is the most fun I have had playing Diablo 3 in a long time.

T6+ bounties, you get a guaranteed legendary of that particular act to drop from the cache. So essentially its a 20% chance anytime you finish a bounty set. It's pretty common these days, and when you join split bounty groups you can mow thru em fast.
