When Carl was talking about names for the baby didn't he say something like "What about Sophia? I'll have to ask Carol."? I'm pretty sure he said something along those lines...that would lead me to think that they don't know if Carol's alive or not.
11/12/2012 12:15:58 PM
Was it because Rick found the round that Carl fired? Didn't look like it went into a body. What if she wasn't dead when that zombie started eating her.
11/12/2012 12:21:02 PM
Did anyone else notice the zombie baby in the crib when Daryl and Maggie broke into the child care place? They clearly didn't put much emphasis on it, but there was something moving around in one of the cribs...
11/12/2012 12:33:28 PM
This episode was pretty jacked up in so many ways:Governor has a zombie daughterGovernor has MMA fights, but with zombies instead of a cageGovernor has a journal, where he's been practicing drawing tally marks for a few dozen pagesRick loses his shit and goes banana sandwich on any zombie he finds with the worlds sharpest axeLori's body is missing, and presumably was eaten whole by ONE fucking zombie, bones and everythingDaryl is playing mother goose with baby bad assMichonne leaves Andrea with some cold blooded departing wordsThat episode had some good action, and really brought a lot of new twists to light
11/12/2012 12:35:34 PM
^^^^If Carl shot her, then she was dead and would not turn. Zombies don't eat each other once they turn, so either she was not killed by Carl and eaten while somewhat alive, or Carl gave her a headshot and the zombie ate the carcass.Either way it was a bit silly the way they showed her just a puddle of blood as gone. No bones or anything and one fat zombie. He found a slug but he didn't find a ring or anything else.[Edited on November 12, 2012 at 12:49 PM. Reason : ]

How could that zombie eat her skull and other larger bones (like the pelvis), as well as her clothes. I call bullshit on that one. I think Lori is a zombie, and the bloated zombie was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. Maybe she evened turn right as the lurker was just starting to eat her. There have been other zombies in the past who were half-eaten, turned, and crawled away, such as bicycle girl zombie from s1e1.
11/12/2012 1:08:03 PM
11/12/2012 1:27:13 PM
Yeah I thought it was just the bullet shell, not the slug.
11/12/2012 1:29:48 PM
11/12/2012 1:30:15 PM
Greg Nicotero straight up said last night on The Talking Dead that Rick found a bullet casing with a flattened area. More than likely it passed through Lori's head.Nicotero also straight up said the bloated zombie ate Lori. He had her hair hanging out of his mouth.
11/12/2012 1:41:19 PM
Then where are the large bones, like the skull? That's dumb writing.
11/12/2012 1:54:22 PM
STRAIGHT UP!

^Thanks. I don't watch The Talking Dead, and I honestly did not think about the exact scene as it was happening. I just knew that Lori was gone. I did not go into the "Where is her clothes? Where are her bones? Did that one zombie eat all of her and just has a full stomach?" etc. Our discussion on here had me second guessing the meaning of the scene, but I got the general idea that she was dead, and TTD obviously said, yea she's gone.
11/12/2012 1:59:42 PM
I never watch the Talking Dead, but if that's what they said then I guess that's what happened. So thanks for posting that and clearing that up. The way they showed that bloated walker it was pretty obvious, IMO at least, that he ate Lori. When showing the walker's face you could see long hair (like from a woman) around the mouth...maybe it was just me but the camera seemed to focus on that. Making me believe that Lori was eaten.[Edited on November 12, 2012 at 2:03 PM. Reason : Didn't read all of ^^^^'s post...so yeah...never mind.]

I still hold to the idea that I don't believe anyone is absolutely dead until I've seen a body or see something to suggest they are definitely dead. Haven't seen a body for Carol, and haven't seen a body for Lori. I saw T-dog... that guy is definitely dead. As far as I'm concerned, anything is possible for the other two.
11/12/2012 2:22:31 PM
the previews for next episode imply that Carol might be alive
11/12/2012 2:23:23 PM
my $$ is on Carol being alive. as for Lori, she dead.
11/12/2012 2:33:02 PM
Yeah, I'm leaning toward Carol being alive. Lori... idk, I think we could potentially see her as a zombie. I'm just not convinced she's dead (no clothes, bones, etc.). They didn't actually show Carl shoot her. There's a lot up in the air there.
11/12/2012 2:41:15 PM
Next week's episode has me thinking....Why do we have to assume that the prison scenes are happening in tandem with the Woodbury scenes. With Michonne stomping off into the woods, is it possible that she will be the one who was looking at the prison from behind the trees at the end of ep2?3? Maybe she's just hanging back, observing these new people. Maybe Michonne saved Carol when she went running off. That would be a great twist IMO, but we will see.
11/12/2012 2:54:21 PM
ya know, that is a really interesting point you bring up. there is no time reference found anywhere, so for all we know you could be correct in thinking that Michonne leaving the commune happened before the events at the prison we just saw last night let alone 2 weeks ago.
11/12/2012 3:07:44 PM
maybe carol found lori and is nursing her back to health with her uber medical knowledge
11/12/2012 3:14:15 PM
nah, there's a time reference. Andrea has said several times that they were out there for 8 months. Which is akin to what the other group has said I believe... plus, Lori's pregnancy. It would only take a few days/a week's difference for it to still not be concurrent. But I think it's meant to be pretty much aligned. Why would we not assume that the person looking through the bushes was the prisoner who set the zombies free? They showed him using that same sort of camera "style" (positioning, movement, only showing part of him, etc.) for most of the episode he was in. Which I believe was either the very next episode or the one after it (due to a mostly Woodberry-centric episode).[Edited on November 12, 2012 at 3:19 PM. Reason : .]

I thought the "person in the woods" was the black prisoner that broke the lock that got T-Dawg bit. Still not sure how he escaped the yard when Rick left him there though.
11/12/2012 3:57:47 PM
Lori is as alive as Adrianna.
11/12/2012 4:03:38 PM
I don't believe that Andrew ever left the prison grounds, therefore not the person looking at the prison from behind the trees. There is not enough proof either way, so it's just one opinion vs another. I still like my idea.
11/12/2012 4:07:15 PM
i think the person peeping in the woods is the chopper guy looking for his head
11/12/2012 4:39:16 PM
11/12/2012 5:26:41 PM
Yeah I initially assumed that was his daughter...but after Michonne's comment and the notebook I wasn't so sure. On a similar note, what was the significance of the Governor underlining her name (she was Penny, right?) and then all the dashes in the notebook for several pages?
11/12/2012 5:32:24 PM
it was to show how crazy he is
11/12/2012 5:36:41 PM
I'm pretty sure it's his daughter. It wouldn't be too hard to tell for certain; they showed her clearly when he was brushing her hair and they also showed a photo of him, his wife, and his daughter.
11/12/2012 5:52:36 PM
I want cable. POUT!! SADFACE!!
11/12/2012 6:06:31 PM
my read was penny was his daughter and when she turned he snapped, Jack in The Shining style.forget the other names, but maybe other people that were lost along the way. which now that i think of it, a little symmetric to carl coming up with baby names.
11/12/2012 6:38:47 PM
11/12/2012 6:48:56 PM
So is Lori Rick's Penny?
11/12/2012 6:50:02 PM

11/12/2012 6:53:26 PM
It's his daughter - Michonne picked up a family picture of the governor and his family, and you could see the resemblance between his daughter in the picture and the zombie girl at the beginning of the show.
11/12/2012 8:51:25 PM
so happy that Lori is gone. She needed to go last season...and Daryl really likes helping the babies and kiddies out.

Several references have been made to his daughter. He looked at a picture of his wife and daughter before he went and stared at the heads. When he was talking to Blondie, he said he lost his wife 18 months before the outbreak in a car wreck, and it's just been him and his daughter, or something like that.[Edited on November 13, 2012 at 10:46 AM. Man, y'all need to watch The Talking Dead. Nicotero straight up says the girl is the Gov's daughter. He also says the hash marks are just an indication of the Gov's mental illness. He told a story about a friend who would constantly make hash marks on a pad of paper when she was nervous or anxious.[Edited on November 13, 2012 at 5:53 PM. Reason : girl, not girls]
11/13/2012 5:39:31 PM
i can't really take The Talking Dead, it's kinda annoying, especially the host.
11/13/2012 5:40:38 PM
i just discovered the host is the guy from singled out. makes me feel old
11/13/2012 5:41:34 PM
i'm not gonna watch a tv show about a tv show
11/13/2012 6:09:25 PM
I assumed the hash marks were days since his daughter died.also madnessbut mostly the first.
11/14/2012 9:23:54 AM
Even if Penny turn at the very beginning of the outbreak, it would be less than a year. I feel like there were more than 365 tick marks spanning over those pages. Honestly, that's what I initially thought as well, but I think it's just him going crazy.
11/14/2012 9:34:22 AM
that was a lot of back slashes.
