I'm not convinced Melvin Gordon isn't a better option than Gurley for us anyway. Guy looks like a Jamal Charles clone, hair and all. Also, it would not suck to draft WR Greene from FSU in the 3rd round. He seems like the perfect receiver for what we need -- a speedy, shifty guy who runs great routes and has awesome hands.[Edited on April 1, 2015 at 9:54 AM. Reason : ]

i'm convinced people who think gordon>gurley don't actually watch football.

Nobody is worried about Gurley's knee??

After the Thomas Davis miracle, I believe anything is possible......well, when it comes to knees and the panthers.[Edited on April 1, 2015 at 10:53 AM. Reason : but I also thought Lattimore was gonna bounce back at the 49ers]

Modern medicine has come along way. Also Gurley has legit butterstick talent.
4/1/2015 10:51:14 AM
so talented that when he went down georgia just plugged in another of their 50 rbs and didnt miss him at all

Oklahoma did ok when Peterson broke his collarboneGuess he's not a good back either

Duke Johnson could end up being the steal of the RB group if he drops a few rounds.

Yeah if you want to talk injury prone, talk Keith Marshall.

Bpa is completely illogical outside of the first handful of picks and no one with any sense drafts that way at the end of round 1 in particular. This isnt fantasy football jesus
4/1/2015 6:14:57 PM
we shouldve taken teddy bridgewater last year BPA!!!!!
4/1/2015 7:46:33 PM
^^ I'm stunned you haven't landed a GM role yet. You've got this whole thing figured out.
4/1/2015 10:09:33 PM
Even if it were magically possible to identify the best player available at the end of the first round (hint: it isnt even remotely possible) teams would still draft on need. I guess no one was drafting bpa the year brady went 6th round.
4/2/2015 9:05:35 AM
I think teams have this thing called a "board" (hint: Gettleman puts one of these together), you may have heard of it, where they rank players overall and by position to monitor how the draft unfolds. It becomes pretty easy to determine the best player left on their board even, gasp, 25 whole picks into the thing.

wasn't face the one that said we should have drafted Troy Smith? how'd he work out?

In your example, you're valuing all positions equally. That is an even bigger recipe for disaster.
4/2/2015 7:25:27 PM
I don't think it necessarily means you're valuing all fields equally, it's just you're taking the bias out.His scenario has them ranked a #1 at a position vs. #4 at a position. Teams are more likely to rank players based on what round they think they're worth drafting. So in that scenario, it's the first round and you have a RB with a 1st round grade, OT with 2nd round grade, and WR with 2nd round grade. You're able to focus on getting the player you think is the best actual player and less on drafting a position because you need one.To say you think OT is more valuable than RB(think all teams would agree) and drafting based on that could really lead to some reaches. I mean if you think the guy is only good enough to be a 2nd round draft pick, why take him in the first-round over better overall players just because you need a position and have to reach. You're going to end up with less overall talented players on your roster that way.I still think we end up taking OT in the first round despite all that. I just like that we've plugged all our roster spots prior to the draft so we can draft the players we want over reaching for a player we "need".

just signed Charles Tillman to a 1-year dealinjury prone and old, but I'm ok with taking a mini, cost-effective risk on him
4/9/2015 3:58:17 PM
I like it and he seems like the perfect fit lockerroom-wise. Dunno if he'll see the field much in 4-3 or nickel packages but he could be a great influence on Benwikere and Norman from a veteran teaching standpoint. He's obviously a character guy (Walter Payton Man of the Year award, etc) but I remember hearing some Bears players say he was the consummate teammate and some of the younger DBs talk about how much he helped them, even when he was hurt last year.
