got an awesome YES WE CAM shirt for Christmas that I'm looking forward to wearing all of the damn time

Our RB's were actually pretty solid this year. Stewart sucked obviously, but Deangelo was relatively effective. Tolbert although historically terrible in short yardage was pretty clearly effective as well. Given Deangelo's age, Tolbert's situational status, Stewart's injury history (and the fact that he might be washed up), and Barner's fumbling problems and ineffectiveness I think we have to add another RB next year. I'd let Barner go and take another 6th round or UDFA flyer on someone who we feel was overlooked. You obviously don't want to burn a high pick (first three rounds or so) on a position like RB when you're contending for the freaking Super Bowl and have other holes though.Considering we will be drafting near the end of the first round and next year is our absolute best shot at winning the Super Bowl before we have to hand Cam a $25M/year cap crippling contract I'd do the following:In the first three rounds either TE, G, or S. You can get a top notch TE, G, or S late in the first round and it's clearly a position of need. In the 2nd and 3rd you can still get effective starters. At TE we can't trust Olson's health and we'd be more effective with some 2 TE sets like we were with Shockey/Olson.At G we have a mishmash of crap and it's really frustrating watching Cam have to deal with so many busted protections. We have one the bottom Sack rates in the league despite Cam's ability to elude the sack. Not to mention our running game is pretty non existent up the middle at times. At Safety we could get a big impact player who could really help upgrade our secondary immediately.QB: Obvious no needRB: some need but a waste to take someone early we have gaping holes. Cam negates our need for an elite RB because he can get tough yards on the ground when we need them.WR: I don't want a rookie WR. We need to pick up a veteran WR via free agency who can play on the outside. Then we can move Steve Smith to the inside where he needed to move 2 years ago. I love the guy but he's not a #1 WR option anymore and he's too likely to get injured to rely on as a #1 WR. If he goes down our passing game is destroyed. All the more reason to get a #2 TE so we have other sets to use.T: Hope these guys can play out one more season b/c we don't have the cap room and we're picking to late to upgrade much via the draft.G: Needs to be addressedC: No needDE: Maybe need some depth but a 4th or 5th rounder could help. Where we're picking the guys would be too raw.DT: Same here with DE plus we're set.OLB: Could use one, but always guys on FA and 5th rounder could be serviceable.MLB: SetCB: Could use a good one, but we're picking so late I'd rather bring in a veteran than take a guy who might be a bust or have a huge learning curveS: Definite need. Take one or bring in vet.K: No needP: who caresKR: No needPR: Who caresLong Snapper: Really.[Edited on December 26, 2013 at 6:03 PM. Reason : a]

I agree with most of that. But I think corner is just as big a need as safety. And eventually we will need to draft a WR to be a #1 guy to replace Smith. Whether we do it this year or not, who knows.

i gotta say, that's pretty fucking awesome

I feel for TDLavonte David got robbed too.Not a single OLB in a 4-3 made it. They really need to distinguish between these 3-4 pass rushers and traditional linebackers on the ballot. It's two different positions really.
12/27/2013 10:31:18 PM
Hopefully none of them actually go to the pro bowl.
12/27/2013 10:55:20 PM
That's cool Hardy made it, but he just got a hell of a lot harder to resign. We'll probably franchise tag him.TD got snubbed big-time. I love Luke, but TD is every bit as important to the defense.Kind of surprised Gross didn't make it off name alone. He's been really solid this year.
12/28/2013 10:09:02 AM
I feel like Cam got gifted and TD got robbed. Roethlisberger should have gotten Cam's slot but that's the reward for being on a winning team.
12/28/2013 10:31:00 AM
Also roethlisberger is in the afc..
12/28/2013 2:29:17 PM
Ugh at my aunts house for small talk and trying to engage her new husband with some panthers talk to pass the time-- first thing out of his mouth:"I really don't care for the quarterback"Goddamn racist mouthbreather
12/28/2013 2:41:54 PM
^^ so? AFC/NFC doesn't matter anymore[Edited on December 28, 2013 at 2:42 PM. Reason : .]
12/28/2013 2:42:15 PM
Oh does it not? I certainly don't watch the pro bowl but I thought it was always done like that
12/28/2013 3:14:12 PM
The voting is still divided between the two conferences, so that Roflcopter comment is still impossible. The new format for the actual game this year is for Jerry Rice and Deion to act as "captains" and select teams regardless of conference.
12/28/2013 3:45:18 PM
I don't know how the voting works. 3 of the 4 inside linebackers were from the NFC.
12/28/2013 4:40:53 PM
All three sf linebackers got in? The pro bowl can kiss my ass
12/28/2013 5:29:41 PM
Ahmad Brooks had absolutely no business making it.
12/28/2013 5:58:11 PM
12/28/2013 6:05:14 PM
12/28/2013 6:08:45 PM
I can't recall a last week scenario where a team could possibly finish as the #1 seed with a win or with the #6 seed with a loss.Crazy
12/28/2013 7:16:14 PM
Panthers need to draft this tyler lockett dude out of k state. Looks like a solid player who is not a moron who would give us off the field problems. Should be available at out late first round pick maybe even our second round
12/28/2013 10:59:02 PM
I'd like to see Gonzalez get concussed in the 1st quarter
12/29/2013 12:27:06 PM
some dude made a shirt out of tickets lol
12/29/2013 12:46:49 PM
If he actually wanted to make a shirt out of tickets, it would have been really easy to do so w/o just stapling/gluing/taping them onto a shirt[Edited on December 29, 2013 at 12:50 PM. Reason : aa]
12/29/2013 12:50:14 PM
highly uncomfortable, too
12/29/2013 12:51:19 PM
Ugh
12/29/2013 1:11:16 PM
first touchdown allowed in 1st qtr all year, right?
12/29/2013 1:11:50 PM
well that was sub optimal
12/29/2013 1:13:01 PM
So far no good
12/29/2013 1:17:13 PM
this would be total bullshit because they blew the play dead and no one tried to dive on the ball due to the whsitlealthough guys just stopping when a ball is loose is stupid
12/29/2013 1:18:20 PM
worst that could happen would be the loss of yardage I would think, due to the whistlebut that pass is incomplete all day
12/29/2013 1:20:42 PM
worst that could happen is we lose and cam newton and luke kuechly go out
12/29/2013 1:30:51 PM
We definitely need to pickup a receiver in the draft this year if anyone of value is there for us to take.
12/29/2013 1:32:58 PM
yes we cam
12/29/2013 1:42:43 PM
They sure aren't playing like this is a playoff game, which it pretty much is. If we lose we have zero chance at the superbowl assuming of course New Orleans doesn't go full retard later.
12/29/2013 1:46:33 PM
Cam back to his overthrowing ways.
12/29/2013 1:46:37 PM
how hard is it to throw the ball accurately?
12/29/2013 1:48:25 PM
Awful throwing by Cam today. He better get this offense in a rhythm or it's an L for us.
12/29/2013 1:48:51 PM
I have a really bad feeling about this game
12/29/2013 1:49:56 PM
The defender is supposed to let the receiver get the first down there.
12/29/2013 1:50:21 PM
welp not looking good
12/29/2013 1:50:28 PM
Offense needs to pickup some of this intensity the defense is showing
12/29/2013 1:55:04 PM
Lucky to hold them to 3. Cam playing like shit early, but that's not abnormal. Just need a prolonged drive to get this offense in a rhythm.
12/29/2013 1:59:06 PM
Feel like D. Williams really doesn't try - wants to avoid contact - and just get paid. Doesn't seem to care about winning
12/29/2013 2:02:21 PM
you've gotta be fucking kidding me
12/29/2013 2:04:07 PM
NC state shit
12/29/2013 2:04:11 PM
Way to hold onto the ball
12/29/2013 2:04:12 PM
I was going to retract my statement - and then he fumbles.
Well that looked familiar... Hold onto the ball!!!!
