ryan wasnt as highly regarded after his junior year. he was still going to be the best qb in the acc b/c acc qbs sucked ass but the top QB going into the year was brohm and ryan was in discussion, but with an average year couldve ended up a 2nd-3rd round pick

bc obviously isnt like the patriots, because theyve had ridiculous HC turnover while the one constant in NE is belicheckim just saying, im not going to pronounce them dead til I see it with my own eyes. Do I expect them to win the division next year? hell no but im not going to write them in as a lock for last place eitherand I think there is some 20/20 hindsight going on with Ryan. He was a good QB back then, but he was not Jesus. He wasnt great his JR year b/c he was injured? Fine, but he only played like half his soph year (and wasnt great then either IIRC) so there was no other track record to go on. At the beginning of last year Cullen Harper was projected to be the best QB in the ACC and a possible first day pick, that turned out real well. Also, as we learned with Philip, QB is not the only position on the fieldand it wasnt a matter of BC falling off, they actually got better in Ryan's SR year, peaking at #2 in the rankings. I think the expectation was that theyd screwed up by giving TOB the Herb treatment, and would stutter the first year w/o him (maybe finish with a similar record or slightly under), then fall off pretty hard. Yet two years later, they were still brining their 60 fans down to Tampa

If you're using IE you have to put it in as http://74.125.47.132/search?q=cache:northcarolinastate.scout.com/2/869427.htmlAh, just read what you guys said, well, you can pretty much just replace the part after cache: with whatever story you want to read unless it has funny characters in the name then you have to be a little more creative.[Edited on June 3, 2009 at 3:12 PM. damn, that article was a good read...Pete Thomas sounds like he REALLY likes us, the only thing that makes me hesitant was that he mentioned looking at the depth chart as a big factor in his decision and with Wilson and Glennon on our roster (not to mention Proctor) there's probably not much of a chance for him to play early. Of course USC has that same problem, with an even bigger logjam at QB so maybe it's not that big of a deal. [Edited on June 3, 2009 at 3:16 PM. Reason : . ]
6/3/2009 3:15:12 PM
so how would you do the creecy article?sweet tits, now i dont have to wait
6/3/2009 3:15:36 PM
I would think he'd like the depth chart here. There no guarantee that Wilson will still be around when he gets to school, Proctor probably has a lot of work to do to be a collegiate QB, and Glennon will be a sophomore. He could possibly be the 2nd string QB as a true freshman. Not likely, but it's not a bad looking depth chart.
6/3/2009 4:51:34 PM
certainly a better chance to play early than USC, that's for surei don't know if i'd sign at a school that just picked up Matt Barkley the previous year
6/3/2009 5:02:36 PM
The packpride forums dont' go to the cache do they?
6/3/2009 5:21:57 PM
They used to, but Scout quickly locked that up once they found out a lot of people (many being users on here ) were reading premium board content for free.

not sure if this is worthy of its own thread, but adrian wilson just got a 4 year extension.http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=4231534

you're right, it's not worthy of its own thread, but what on earth makes you think it goes in the football recruiting thread when there's a pack players in the NFL thread?

how is it that Texas can have a nearly complete class by summer time every year? They have 19 commitments already!
6/6/2009 10:44:39 AM
Texas always recruit early, being the main school in Texas, it's not that hard to recruit.
6/6/2009 2:22:52 PM
being a consistent top 5 program doesn't hurt either.
6/6/2009 3:57:19 PM
Southern Cal is probably the only other program that can employ as many recruiting angles as Texas can. Top 5 programs, superstar coaches, NFL pipelines, fantastic academics, and in cities that have something to appeal to everyone.

If Kobe Bryant played football he would dominate that shit and I bet you Anything he would Never even think about playing for NC State with our dumbass playaction on 3rd and 20 playcalling. Or even better. 4th and 30. This is for the game. Let me guess...qb sneak. Of Course. Dammit.

well at least Zack McCray didn't pick UNC. They were in his top 4.From ESPN Insider:Touted defensive end Zack McCray picks HokiesZack McCray, an ESPNU 150 Watch List defensive end from Brookville (Lynchburg, Va.), who had 20 sacks as a junior, has committed to Virginia Tech for the Class of 2010.The 6-foot-4, 235-pound prospect also considered Alabama, LSU, North Carolina, Tennesse, North Carolina State and Virginia. Among many others were West Virginia, Boston College, Duke, Maryland, Nebraska and UCLA.During the 2008 season, McCray also totaled 87 tackles, two fumble recoveries and one interception. The Hokies now have nine pledges.

I was happy to see that.
6/8/2009 3:52:58 PM
This can be a draw-back to having a late QB camp, you have to ask the recruit to hold-out for a potential offer. But at the same time, hopefully Pete Thomas will work out for us, that would be a great early addition to our class to go with the Juco's, Singer, and Crisp.
6/8/2009 4:00:01 PM
USC has backed off Thomas for the time being
