these aren't really that good, but it was crazy to find this in the middle of centennial woods
6/1/2008 8:54:56 AM
what program do you guys use to view RAW files? (slash website for hosting)
6/1/2008 8:03:01 PM
UFRaw works wellSome DSLRs come with software when the camera is purchased.

Picasa makes my RAW files pink... lame
6/1/2008 9:56:54 PM
That baby doll is creepy as hell.
6/1/2008 10:05:04 PM
im far from a photographer. hell i dont even have a camera, but i like this picture
6/1/2008 10:06:06 PM
Both pictures of that dog are great.

I use Adobe CS3 for image processing.Just finished up processing, editing and publishing almost 400 pictures of a hooters swimsuit contest down in Atlanta, GA.

^^^, ^^^^ thanks! this \/ is my first real attempt at messing with saturation and such in photoshop, I really have no idea what I'm doing, although I can do the cool "one thing in color and everything else BW" thing I wish I got the DOF better on this one... and this is what Picasa is doing to my RAW files [Edited on June 1, 2008 at 10:37 PM. those are some heavily inflated boobiesgreat pictures though
6/1/2008 10:38:38 PM
And yes, composition is a bit off. The camera back focused a little bit since it was dark as hell even with their hot lamps, but the subjects are fine.[Edited on June 1, 2008 at 10:43 PM. Reason : ]
6/1/2008 10:42:06 PM
I spy many, many fake boobies.
6/1/2008 11:03:58 PM
looks to me like your camera was focusing right where you told it to.
6/1/2008 11:04:07 PM
it's hard to miss them when there's 12 of them lined up... Btw, #17 that won... natural. I had a conversation with her and her friend before the show started debating on which of their breasts were "nicer".
6/1/2008 11:25:26 PM
non-SLR, this is from a Sony DSC-H5it's City Park Jazz in Denver:
6/1/2008 11:26:04 PM
maybe boost the vibrance a bit, but I like the composition. Would be perfect if the tree wasn't there or the whole tree was there.
6/1/2008 11:27:46 PM
yea, i don't photoshop my pictures (not that i can't, i just don't). i probably should.
6/1/2008 11:31:06 PM

i'm just using picasa to get the photos from the card and into an online album.[Edited on June 2, 2008 at 12:00 AM. Reason : fdsfdh]

haven't mess with canon's DPP, how is that? I should install that software and try it out I suppose, but I'm pretty comfortable with cs3.
6/2/2008 12:28:19 AM
Straight forward and simple to use. I don't have any sort of photoshop software currently, so that's probably why I'm still using it. But I do think its a handy tool to start the process.

If that had a wider angle to see the top of the water crest, it would be really cool.

6/2/2008 9:00:08 PM
^You may be able to pick up a used Nikon D70 on ebay for around 300.
6/2/2008 9:23:30 PM
for new i'd say canon s5is http://www.dpreview.com/news/0705/07050703canons5is.aspyou won't get a new digital SLR for your price range. [Edited on June 2, 2008 at 9:40 PM. Reason : link]
6/2/2008 9:40:05 PM
yeah, even with older digital SLR's, they aren't in the 300 range, maybe like a 10D, but most people who have them have converted them to IR camera's...However, you can get some film SLR's for cheap.
6/2/2008 10:24:11 PM
I'd guess an original Digital Rebel goes for less than a 10D. That's probably the cheapest Canon you'll get. Here's a good price on a Nikon D40, if it's real: http://raleigh.craigslist.org/pho/704132978.html[Edited on June 2, 2008 at 11:03 PM. Reason : ]

6/3/2008 1:15:54 PM
^me neitherBut on another note, I have always thought about taking some photography classes. Would that be beneficial, or is it best to just learn on your own?
6/3/2008 1:29:53 PM
classes would be beneficial for sure.
6/3/2008 1:31:32 PM
ok so i've been messing around a bunch with the new glass and trying to learn what the settings can do this is with the 50 f/1.4 at f/1.4 and 1/8 shutter speed with only the light from the hallway, no direct light from the room we were in... I was blown away when I put the stop at f/1.8 and took the same shot with the same shutter speed and at a slower speed.. this lens is amazing.these were while I was playing around outside...none have been cropped or retouched in any way. larger res are on my flickr: http://flickr.com/photos/shevais[Edited on June 3, 2008 at 2:18 PM.
