This probably is more relevant here:Instead of suffering through Horner (who can play NO d) and Harris (who can play NO o) I'd LOVE to see this lineup as our 'A' one.1 - Degand2 - Fells (he has been our best shooter so far this year)3 - Costner4 - Smith5 - McCauleySure, Costner will be a bit slow of a 3, but that is our best lineup IMO all around...--------------Lo Brown is more of a combo than a true point. He's a scorer and from I've read he sees the court well, but isn't the best decision maker with the ball... I'm hopefull we get Wall and he can play his natural position next year. He will probably be a starter from the day he steps on campus given what we return next year...

COSTNER AT THE 3FUCKING LAWL
1/4/2009 12:47:38 PM
NyM410 has forgotten more basketball than you will ever know FYI.Costner could play the 3....especially if we play zone defense. It's not like Simon Harris is a speed demon that is way faster than Costner.
1/4/2009 12:50:28 PM
Costner plays more as a 3 anyway on offense... and he can't possibly be any worse than Horner on defense at that position. Horner is CONSTANTLY out of position and neither have 3 lateral quickness.Gavin freaking Edwards has seen some time for UConn at the 3 so they can put the best lineup they have on the floor at times when the three guards aren't playing well. If we had the quality players to have Costner play his natural position, that would be great, but we don't... you make changes to match your personnel. Sure it's not optimal but it beats the alternative. Simon Harris shouldn't even by in the rotation on an ACC team, let alone in close games in the final minutes...
1/4/2009 12:57:29 PM
Costner is WAY too slow to guard 3s. Fells is best when he gets to play the 3. Fells is his worst when he has to play the 1 or 2. Best line-up would be something more like:1 - Degand (assuming he's willing to listen to Lowe)2 - Mays 3 - Fells4 - Costner5 - McCauleywith Smith first off the bench Smith can't play defense any better than Horner right now.
1/4/2009 1:23:28 PM
mays hitting that 3 yesterday makes him a 2
1/4/2009 1:26:40 PM
when ferguson is healthy, he is good for 15-20 minutes or soi know you people hate on ferg, but he's pretty much on par with anyone else on the team.
1/4/2009 1:27:29 PM
see that's the thing, people get mad that this guy or that guy see minutes and want tracy smith to get everyone's minutes, but tracy smith can't play every position on the floor. these bad players are just going to have to be out there.
1/4/2009 1:31:44 PM
and i really wish we wouldn't shit on the team so muchi mean, it's not their fault. they are certainly busting their asses. maybe making mistakes, but who does their job perfectly?it could be worse. Georgia Tech is fucking awful. We could be worse.
1/4/2009 1:34:46 PM
whose fault is it then, Champ?
1/4/2009 1:36:15 PM
the state of the team is inarguably sidney lowe's fault. i just don't think it's time to call for his head yet.
1/4/2009 1:40:58 PM
i think half goes on the coach but half belongs to the playersthese kids have been playing basketball since they were old enough to walkthere's no reason they should pass it to a dude in a different colored jersey and/or dribble it off their feet and/or shoot it off the side of the backboard
1/4/2009 1:43:37 PM
uh, they're just not that good?
1/4/2009 2:03:00 PM
1/4/2009 2:35:14 PM
to be fair to horner, he got called for some really tickytacky fouls in that game, i thought.
1/4/2009 2:36:28 PM
we've lost 3 close games, to very respectable/nationally ranked teams. sure, it would've been great to win a couple of them, but I feel comfortable that this team will be very competitive in the ACC this year (much much more comfortable than i did last year after our OOC performance - despite our win against nova). i hated that loss yesterday, but if we can go 9-7 in the conference we'll likely make the tournament regardless - and I think we have a shot at 9-7 if the team continues to develop.
1/4/2009 2:37:09 PM
9-7 plus at least a win in the conference tourneymaybe twothis isn't one of those years where 8 ACC teams get in.
1/4/2009 2:45:58 PM
9 and fucking 7? LOL, what the fuck have you seen to think we'll go 9 and 7?Here are 6 ACC losses right off the bat:2 against UNC2 against Wake Forest1 against Duke1 against ClemsonOf the remaining 10 ACC games we will go 9-1? Get the fuck out of here with that bullshit.
1/4/2009 3:04:18 PM
Duke doesn't have a good team and Clemson is overrated. Wake Forest is probably beatable.
1/4/2009 3:07:06 PM
the only team that isnt beatable is UNCnot saying we will win these games, but i don't think you can assume we will automatically lose to the rest of the teams you named

State is a good ACC tourney team: Don't ever count us out. Here are some good thoughts from ESPNhttp://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/columns/story?columnist=oneil_dana&id=3807593NCAA outlook: The Wolfpack are an interesting case. Not many people are talking about the Pack, but they are playing well and could very well be a surprise team in the ACC.

^^The article was written by a fucking woman that nobody acknowledges as intelligent when it comes to basketball. You are kidding yourself if what we are doing right now is playing good.
1/4/2009 3:29:15 PM
and how exactly is
1/4/2009 3:30:03 PM
go ahead and say it erice, you think NC State will make the tournament because someone paid to follow sports picked us to make it.that is retardedthe media's prediction of NC State is always spot on isn't it, just like predicted to finish 3rd in the league last season[Edited on January 4, 2009 at 3:31 PM. as was your previous statement that you quickly retracted
1/4/2009 3:31:25 PM
This season could have been a lot worse. we beat the teams that we should have beaten and then played very close to people that should have beat us. What I like is that there have been no huge blow outs yet and no major signs of self-destruction like there were last year. The team is playing fluid and although they lost three close games, they show some composure to get to 500 in ACC. Either way, this season should be an improvement over last year.[Edited on January 4, 2009 at 3:37 PM. Reason : exit]

too bad i never made that argument fucktardall i said was the only unbeatable team out of the bunch was UNC. I guess you werent taught reading comprehension in school?
1/4/2009 3:38:04 PM
^ right and then you defended a counter point of some ridiculous article that we have a chance to make the NCAA tourny which was posted by an oblivious woman sports writer.I've laid out what it's going to take to even make it to 9 and 7 which that alone most likely wouldn't even make us tourny bound.[Edited on January 4, 2009 at 3:43 PM. most of her article sounds accurate to me.but after your posts today, i think you lack reading abilityand I haven't said one thing about the NCAAT, so keep trolling fucktard.I know we arent a great team, but you fuckers act like we're fordham or something. We've lost 3 games by a combined 10 pts and you all act like we are destined to finish last in the acc.[Edited on January 4, 2009 at 3:47 PM. Reason : .let the season play out]
1/4/2009 3:45:07 PM
^ exactly
1/4/2009 3:48:19 PM
The ACC teams we will be playing are going to be a little better than High Point/Loyola/New Orleans, FUCKTARD.
1/4/2009 3:48:54 PM
and UVA, GT, BC, Maryland, VT are all light years better than davidson, marquette, and florida too, right?keep trying
1/4/2009 3:49:46 PM
Who on here thinks that we can't improve as the season progresses? State, aside from last year, is typically a team that improves as the season goes along. Whereas Wake and Clemson could have a collapse near the end.
1/4/2009 3:51:26 PM
I'd say we have more of a chance of collapsing, similar to last years 9 game losing streak to cap off the season.
1/4/2009 3:54:16 PM
i guarantee you all that we will beat either unc, duke, wake forest, or clemson at least once.
1/4/2009 4:04:15 PM
^ nice user name, BTW
1/4/2009 4:06:34 PM
I watched teh FL/State game and for 95% of that game we looked like the stronger, more dominant team. For some reason, we slowed down and tried to run a slow half court offense, instead of pushing the ball down the court like we were doing in the first half when FL did not know how to handle our fast break offense. Why, we changed things up in the 2nd half I have no idea-but that's when FL started making their comeback...we had that game in control up until then. Once FL started double teaming our guards in our-ineffective halfcourt offense, our guys seemed to get rattled and loose their composure. If we take that same intensity we had in the first half of that game and maintain it during our conference play-we will be FINE! GO Pack!
1/4/2009 4:18:23 PM
^ In the second half, they were getting points off of turnovers when we tried rushing it. They sort of forced us into slowing it down.
