Peter can control all of his powers except for the newly acquired one from Ted.

God Peter is such a waste of hero. There is so much he could do to fuck up Sylar. He knows that Sylar is probably gonna go at him telekinetic, so why the fuck did he just stand there waiting for him when he could have gone invisible and just started wailing on him. Or when Sylar had him suspended in the air, he could have teleported away like Hiro did (Hiro was pretty badass though). I'm thinking that if Hiro's dad is Kensei, and Hiro just went back in time to 1617 Japan... wouldn't Hiro's dad recognize him in the future when he is born? Also, I think there is a possibility that Peter could still be alive, given Claire's power. They never really explained the "Save the cheerleader" mentality, but I think most people would have thought that if Sylar got her power, he would have been able to explode and recover. I'm thinking that maybe in the middle of season 2 Parkman and/or Peter will return to do something important or helpful. And maybe Sylar will join forces with the new villain? Or what if Sylar even takes the new villain's power(s)?
5/21/2007 11:35:12 PM
very disappointing finale. I didn't care that it was anti-climatic but I thought we would see a scene similar to the dream that Peter was having all season about the different heroes running through NYC. And what was up with that final showdown. It was like that one SNL skit where the multiple good ninjas fight the one bad ninja one at a time instead of together. And why did they let Sylar just get away like that?[Edited on May 21, 2007 at 11:53 PM. 5/21/2007 11:45:07 PM
Peter is def. alive....why would you think otherwise
5/21/2007 11:46:22 PM
and shouldn't he have killed Sylar with those 4 consecutive crushing blows with Jessica's power? He was around her, so he must have absorbed her super strength. You'd think Sylar's skull would be crushed. nukaler!
5/22/2007 12:00:50 AM
At least there is a 2 hour Lost to still look forward to.
5/22/2007 12:06:23 AM
Yeah it pisses me off that not even Bennett was like "Hey, where is Sylar?". And they didn't even check to make sure he was dead after Hiro stabbed him. I'd think that given how much of a powerful villain he is, they would want to make sure he was dead.
5/22/2007 12:06:24 AM
I was kind of disappointed in certain aspects of the season finale, but I'm definitely stupidly looking forward to next season.

in my opinion, everything criticism that you guys are saying about the show has some possible explanation to answer it. I agree with Hiro's dad being possibly immortal, talking about his lineage and how he didnt think that it would be Hiro. Also with the whole controlling powers thing...Sylar had many abilities Peter did not. So Peter absorbed possibly many powers at once, making it hard to control any of them, espically the nuclear one. As far as season 2, i see something like first episode beginning with Sylar, getting killed by the end of the first episode by the "new" villian pretty easily, thus making the story line for the second season. Also when Suresh and Micah, etc were getting on the elevator, to me it seemed like Micah and Molly may kind of represent the future generation of hero's to come, and that was the start of it.

I have to say it was a weaker ending than it needed to be. Conceptwise; with Nathan stepping in with self sacrifice at the last minute, Hiro "killing" Sylar, etc., that was all fine, but didn't play off believably. (1) For Parkman to rush off after Sylar was not believable, as he knew well that sylar would wax him(2) Peter did nothing to indicate he learned anything from the first fight, i.e. maybe he enjoys getting choked by Sylar as a conversation opener(3) Peter didn't use any abilities at all during the fight (I can't believe this, but I think I'm right here)(4) Although understandable that shooting Peter might actually precipitate the explosion, he really could have just flown away(5) Hiro's entrance was weakly executed - I agree with someone that with with Sylar being on top of his game stopping bullets, I don't buy that he couldn't stop a Japanese kid with a sword running at him from 20' away.(6) Sylar's escape was truly lame. The point of the confrontation was to kill Sylar. Surely Mr. Bennett would have capped a few in his noggin to seal the deal. It just doesn't make sense that with the trouble sylar had caused and the difficulty of incarcerating him, they would just ignore him.(7) Niki/Jessica seemed like a pretty cool hero (how did this happen?)Ultimately, i think all the events could have played out better if they made this last episode 46 min x 2, and maybe not have the first 10 min be from the last episode. Did anybody notice that the final confrontation took place at night and the original explosion that Hiro witnessed in the first episode was during broad daylight?

also technicallyyyyyy we dont know for sure nathan didnt die. could of flown up really really high, let him go, and fly away in the other direct before he exploded. the only thing to really contradict this possibility was them saying how they love each other right before they went off essentially saying goodbye.

he went back in time and blocked out the sun
5/22/2007 1:19:15 AM
I'm thinking on the bullet in the head topic - unless you hollow out his skull with an Eastwood style round, there's nothing to keep Peter's brain from regenerating (assuming the bullet is removed). The only thing the regen can't recover from is complete removal of the brain. I even thought the talk about Claire surviving the Peter-holocaust was a little far-fetched; a full-on nuclear explosion would incinerate her (and her brain) far quicker than her body could hope to regen.

5/22/2007 1:54:45 AM
i'm guessing candace will be around next season also.also, 2 things. what happened in the first 30 minutes, and what was that scene of the manhole cover at the end with something oozing out?
5/22/2007 6:44:31 AM
If peter turned into a nuclear bomb, even if he flew off, we're talking about ~140lbs of nuclear material whereas hiroshima was 300milligrams. Hiroshima was detonated at 31,000 feet and produced a 15kiloton explosion, imagine the possibilities! I'm guessing new york state shouldn't be there anymore.
5/22/2007 7:24:10 AM
What an uninteresting finale. You could tell it was going to suck when they decided to take 5 minutes to recap the last 20 minutes of last week's episode.[Edited on May 22, 2007 at 7:41 AM. Reason : .]
5/22/2007 7:41:16 AM
^^^that was sylar sliding down the manhole and his blood was the ooze.well, in that 5 yrs in the future episode peter had that huge scar on his face, maybe that's from his regenerating after the explosion.if hiro's dad is immortal, maybe he's one of those japanese warrior men at the end.
5/22/2007 8:10:58 AM
Ah yes...something I thought of before falling asleep b/c I'm a huge dork. When Sylar was stabbed you saw "future" clips in his eyes before they went white. An EXTREME longshot, but what of the possibility that when he's injured that bad he loses one of the powers he's gained? That'd be sweet. I mean there's got to be a catch with him stealing powers--no one is invincible, not even a villain. I hope something like that is explored next season.
5/22/2007 8:52:41 AM
i don't understand why peter would have to be shot in the first place. he should of just given claire a big freakin knife and said, "ram this thing in my brain if shit gets out of hand. when things calm down, take it out and presto!"
5/22/2007 9:12:22 AM
^do you think that scared ass little girl would know how to jam a knife through peters skull? A bullet moves faster and can penetrate skin. shes too weak to stab peter. im pretty sure peters definately coming back. Nathan should have done something like fly him off and drop him over the ocean so both live. That would be cool. as far as sylar goes, i have a feeling hes the only 'villan' in the show. there may be others but he will kill them and take their powers.
5/22/2007 9:22:03 AM
no body = no deathI think it's fair to assume they can bring back anyone at anytime unless there is actual proof they are dead (proof, NOT speculation)also...I just remembered something. In one of the other episodes before Sylar was resurrected there was also a cockroach...and the clips in Sylar's eyes before his "death" were of the people that had died due to his actions[Edited on May 22, 2007 at 9:39 AM. Reason : ]
5/22/2007 9:38:53 AM
^ahhh, so that's what that was...I thought they were future clips, but if they were people he had killed that will lead me more to believe that when he's hurt that badly he loses the powers he's stolen. Which as I said above, it could be completely off base, but Sylar can't be invincible with the powers he's gained...other than straight up killing him, there's got to be a way that he can lose powers, or become weak from taking on too much. I dunno...but it only seems natural that there's a limit.[Edited on May 22, 2007 at 9:48 AM. Reason : n]

way too many plot holes. Peter was a real disappointment. All those powers, and the whole season he does nothing but stand there like an idiot. The only thing he does in the series is save Claire, and thats before he realizes he has any powers. So, there's still a possibility that Sylar can kill Candace and use her powers to be Nathan and so can still be senator, if not president. We dont know if his mom has any powers. What I want to see next season is Peter growing some balls and learning to control his powers (of course he survives, else what's the reason that that whole "compassion" speech he's given? He still didn't save the world, his brother did), and I want to see a showdown between 2 super villians. If this was anything like comic books, there'd be a leader who would get them together and train them to be real heroes, and not just stand there like dumbasses with their thumbs up their butt while a villian gets ready to take out a city. Instead, it looks like they're all going their own separate ways.
5/22/2007 9:52:48 AM
I didn't like the part about Peter's dream. Peter was all like "How are you doing this" and the old black man was like "Does it matter?" Yeah it matters, I want to know wtf is going on.How was the dream happening? Who was controlling it?Why does Peter need to know about his mother (it's not like it changed his actions)? What was that whole speech about being a hero because you were dieing?Sylar may not have stopped Hiro because he was in shock about the comic book coming true (and it wasn't like Hiro running over to Sylar took an eternity, you are making it out to be like austin powers and the steam roller).[Edited on May 22, 2007 at 10:12 AM. Personally I think the reason they showed Sylars eye at the end was a flashback to him using Isaacs power. He had already seen the image of himself laying on the ground stabbed, I think he knew it had to happen, and that it wouldnt kill him.
5/22/2007 10:36:57 AM
I don't know if this has been asked but I am curious who the Super Being is that can see Molly when she is finding people. Do you think it's the mother? Also what do you think old man's power was and why he was dieing? Did Peter go back in time or was he dreaming?
5/22/2007 10:39:39 AM
I think it was some sort of dream state..because when Bennet shakes him he just kind of wakes upalso it's interesting because at the beginning of the season it seemed like this is the first time this was happening, whereas now it's more like Petrelli's parents, Hiro's dad etc were a generation...these New heroes are another generation, and Micah and Molly are some of the next generation
5/22/2007 10:53:11 AM
which is probably why the next part is titled "Generations"

well, last night while in that dream state talking to the old black guythe old dude says "invisiblity....i always thought that one would be a good one to have" or something along those linesso...was he using 2 powers at the same time?
5/22/2007 12:37:52 PM
No, I think when Peter was dreaming and Charles was talking to him, Charles has a power similar to the Indian child that guided Mohinder in the earlier episodes in his dreams. He knew Peter was there b/c he's the person when Molly looks for him, he looks back...or b/c it's a dream state and since he's guiding Peter (from the grave--powers transcending the afterlife in certain individuals), he can still sense him. He said the thing about invisibility probably b/c he's seen so many powers working with the Linderman group (obviously since Mama Petrelli and him knew each other) that it was simply just a comment that it'd be a cool one to have. Or a good one for Peter to have absorbed that will help him become who Charles believes he'll become.I think when Peter has been having these dreams, someone else is guiding him to the truth--and that someone is Charles.b/c IIRC in an earlier episode, it was either a dream or Charles telling Peter IRL that he had a dream Peter could fly...and that was the first of his visions that we saw as an audience. of course later episodes (the 6 months prior one) we find out Peter has a dream about his brother's car crash...which is shortly after he starts working for Charles. That's why I think the two are connected.[Edited on May 22, 2007 at 12:46 PM. Reason : ][Edited on May 22, 2007 at 12:50 PM. Reason : feel free to disagree ][Edited on May 22, 2007 at 12:56 PM. ^dont think the black guy is the person Molly is talking about mainly b/c he is dead.
5/22/2007 12:49:16 PM
Charles can't be the one looking back at Molly. First of all, he was dead the entire time we have known Molly. Second of all, it is fairly obvious that Charles is a good guy, and Molly definitely made out the guy who sees her to be worse than Sylar. I'm pretty sure that was just foreshadowing to next season.
5/22/2007 12:50:44 PM
like i said...either or...the or being his powers can transcend from the afterlife and he's not the guy molly was talking abouti agree i think the one she's talking about it a villain and not Charles, but someone else mentioned thinking they were the same person...i was just using that and going with itactually...i'm taking that out of ^^ to avoid confusion b/c i read someone's earlier post wrong--they suggested Mama Patrelli was the one that looks back, not Charles[Edited on May 22, 2007 at 12:56 PM.
