the debate was still going on this that page, it must not have been that old of an arguement. And I know the goldeneye part was a new tidbit at least.[Edited on January 30, 2007 at 9:11 PM. Reason : thanks Førte]

im assuming i need a gc controller to play a gc game? also, has anyone played nfs carbon?
1/30/2007 9:31:15 PM
I'm pretty sure you can play GC games with the VC. I like the gc layout better. there's a NFS carbon thread you can look attiger woods 07 in marchit has potential to be amazing
1/30/2007 9:56:57 PM
You cannot play GC game with the classic controller. You need a gamecube controller.
1/30/2007 10:15:34 PM
I can't get my Wavebird to respond when I try to use it with the Wii to play Gamecube games. It has new batteries and I made sure the receiver and controller are set to the same channel. This was attempting to play RE4; haven't tried any other GC games. Any idea what it could be?

Can you go online with these VC games to play multiplayer? Or has the games not been changed around to do it? Mario Kart is great and all, but I'd have a better time going against three random people from the net.
1/31/2007 2:59:57 PM
yeah, i don't think they are adding online multi-player support for the VC games.
1/31/2007 3:05:41 PM
1/31/2007 4:27:13 PM
well technically there's no online support for anything currently. maybe vc will change in the future ! we can only hope.
1/31/2007 5:04:21 PM
i just want SSBB to come out.
1/31/2007 5:25:50 PM
8^ i know. when i'm in the actual game it doesn't work at all.6^ the controller and receiver have channel knobs and they supposedly have to be set to the same one to work. i was just stating that so someone wouldn't waste their time suggesting it.[Edited on January 31, 2007 at 5:28 PM. Reason : ^]

^^ then why isn't it working?
1/31/2007 6:28:25 PM
I've noticed some sketchy stuff when I played Mario 64 with my wavebird. Try changing the channel, it could be interference.
1/31/2007 6:53:27 PM
i've been playing RE4 with my wavebird all week, so i don't know what the problem is..is the wavebird on? i'm guessing you know there's a switch..does the light come on?
1/31/2007 11:05:56 PM
are you sure it's plugged into controller port number 1?
1/31/2007 11:10:08 PM
The light is on. With the Wii in the vertical position, is port 1 the furthest back? It was stupid of me to assume that; I guess my reasoning was that it would be the leftmost port if it was horizontal.
2/1/2007 12:41:54 AM
its the one with the single dot above it. its the one closest to the disc insertion area.sounds like you got it in the wrong port[Edited on February 1, 2007 at 6:57 AM. Reason : .]

maybe it's just me.. but i would have tried all of them before waiting a couple of days for tww to tell me what to do
2/1/2007 8:54:42 AM
Waiting for the donglepiece so I can hook up the intarweb. Had to order it from nintendo.com.
2/1/2007 8:55:17 AM
Do the folks here who have purchased Wii points buy them using a prepaid card from the stores or just use their credit card system on the Wii? I still don't trust the interweb.
2/1/2007 9:08:35 AM
ive bought mine online. at stores, ive seen 2000 points cost $25, but online, its only $20.
2/1/2007 9:19:13 AM
I tried searching my complex and borrowing my upstairs neighbor's wireless connection to download some games, but no luck.

not according to the more recent reviews.
2/1/2007 10:39:40 AM
oh, i didnt read the reviewsi saw that one on a wii blog where it was succesfully used. weird
2/1/2007 10:45:46 AM
I bought the WIFI connector for the DS. It works on the Wii.I think the differences in Wii point prices may be tax related. Also, I dig the virtual console suspend play feature.
2/1/2007 11:13:37 AM
2/1/2007 11:14:54 AM
The suspend play feature allows you to save a game when you exit the virtual console to the Wii menu. It's not incredibly crucial, considering that the save point is lost the next time you play the game. However, with some of the more oldschool games that never offered any save feature (ahem, Sonic), I find it rather nifty.

2/1/2007 3:35:28 PM
what does it do? my work has that link blocked for some reason.
2/1/2007 3:37:03 PM
it's a mod chip... for the Wii.....you know, as in, it lets you play your backups + such
2/1/2007 3:38:31 PM
oh....i dont know much about mod chips so i didnt know if they did different things.
2/1/2007 3:39:52 PM
I'm saving my money for a mod chip that won't be obsolete after the next firmware update gets released.
2/1/2007 4:16:41 PM
LOLConan just played Serena Williams in Wii Tennis on Late Night
2/2/2007 1:09:54 AM

2/2/2007 1:20:25 AM
^^^i agree about waiting for a next gen modchip. The last thing I want to do is either brick my Wii or have an obsolete modchip
