We’re recruiting a SF named Rakease Passmore. I think it’s fair to ask if he and Breon Pass will play well together. Will Breon be jealous of Rakease’s insistence on passing more often than Breon? Maybe we should recruit a Reboundmore. Or a Winmore. Idk just some thoughts on recruiting.

Gonna be really confusing when Keatts is trying to get the team to increase ball movement
12/6/2021 10:05:10 AM
I can’t find any Dunkmore or Winmore in the 247 player database for 2022, 2023, or 2024. Keatts needs to take this search international

Looking ahead to next year, any recent recruiting news??
3/5/2022 10:34:40 PM
yeah I'm going to embark on a year long recruiting pitch for Todd Golden
3/6/2022 1:33:25 AM
The only recent news would be rumors of Dillingham reclassifying. Which seems like a bit of a long shot to me but I’m just an amateur message board reader. If I had to guess, we’d more active in the transfer market this off-season than trying to add more incoming freshmen. Keatts will be firmly on the hot seat going into next season and needs some impact players. It’s easier and more likely to get an immediate impact player via transfer than from high school

I hear Coach K is looking to leave Duke

Your comment about them losing to Sacred Heart made me look up their schedule. They lost to Cuse by 34. Lost to Duke by 33. Beat Rutgers! Beat New Jersey Institute of Technology in double OT! Beat something called Gwynedd Mercy University. They were swept by Colgate. We beat Colgate by 3. So he can come to State and finally beat Colgate.

He lost to Colgate, what's his nickname, Plaque??FolksAnyway, what else is in the news...

Going to be a lot of open spots on the roster after the 3-5 guys transfer/opt out for NBA.
3/9/2022 10:33:21 AM
^According to your sources, which 3-5 are going to transfer? Does it include the 3 guys (not including Seabron) that your sources told you were mad at the attention that Terq was getting? Or is Terq one that is transferring? If Terq transfers, do the 3 jealous guys stay? What are your sources telling you?

Tbf I could see Bates, Seabron and Hayes leaving. Not sure where 4 and 5 are.
3/9/2022 12:55:47 PM
I don’t think it’d be crazy to see Bates, Seabron, Hayes, Gibson leave. Gibson might go down a level, similar to Farrar last year. Although by the end of the year Gibson did start to show flashes of competence. And if Bates does leave, that would be a reason for Gibson to stay. So idk. Bates and Seabron coming back is key for next year being anything close to promising. But otherwise, if some of the other dudes transfer I’m not sure any of them are good enough to be considered irreplaceable. Hell, the roster would likely benefit from a pretty major over haul. But yeah, I don’t buy into the “half the team hates Baby T because he’s good” narrative. [Edited on March 9, 2022 at 1:23 PM. 3/9/2022 1:22:17 PM
I almost named Gibson, you win this round
3/9/2022 1:26:11 PM
Maybe the other two are Hellems and Allen who are leaving because theyre selfish assholes
3/9/2022 2:30:15 PM
I actually think Gibson is the least likely big to leave. I think one of Bates/Dowuona will be gone. If Bates comes back, Ebe goes elsewhere in search of playing time. If he leaves, Dowuona stays and keeps starting. It wouldn't surprise me to see Bates leave since he damn near left last year.I think NBA feedback will get Seabron to come back and work on his shot. Smith is a wildcard to me, but i expect he returns. I don't see any way Hayes comes back.

My controversial opinion is, as good as Seabron has been…if he leaves and is replaced by a good shooter on the wing then our roster might mesh a little better next year. Seabron and T are so ball dominant they both end up sort of running the point even though neither are PGs. It makes for an ugly offense and a lot of 1 on 1 basketball. If we add a PG and replace Seabron with a shooter on the wing, I think it could open up the offense a lot more (especially if Bates is back). As it is, T is the only shooter on the roster going into next year. Morsell showed flashes and shot 35% on the season which is ok. But unless he becomes more aggressive, he’s not the kind of the guy that is going to get hot and fill it up from 3 in a single game. By my count he had 4 games where he hit more than 2 3PT shots (never made more than 3). And that’s perfectly solid. But, for reference, Hellems hit >2 3PT shots in 11 games and had a handful of games where he made 5 or more. Hellems shot a lot more than Morsell and they play different positions. But we need to replace Hellems’ shooting next year and I don’t know that Morsell is really the guy to do it. It’s easier said than done to replace Seabron’s production…but if we’re talking about an overhauled roster next year, maybe it works out better if Seabron does move on? Or maybe just takes on a lesser role in next year’s offense. If we bring back T and Seabron, the best two scorers on the team but also the two most ball-dominant guys on the team, how much of a roster overhaul can you even really have? With the O running through those two guys, does the offense look substantially different next year even if you surround them with a few new players? I guess if we add a true PG that can run the pick and roll, then Seabron and T will be asked to do less with the ball in their hand. But if Seabron has the ball less, how good of a scorer will he even be?[Edited on March 11, 2022 at 9:01 AM. Reason : A]
3/11/2022 9:00:24 AM
Yeah, I don't know about that. I think I'd prefer to keep our two best players (and Bates).
3/11/2022 9:45:05 AM
^^I agree and the only caveat I would add is a shooter who is committed on the defensive end. I appreciated Seabron's effort/development this season, but he played lackluster defense (probably at least in part because he was so ball dominant on the offensive end) and his slash and kick game was mostly slash with no kick. Then when we played bigger athletic teams, his slash game got shut down because he can't shoot. This is where a good PG could have come in handy who could have set up Seabron to disguise the drive a bit rather than telegraphing it from half court. Losing Bates would be way worse from the defensive standpoint alone but he was also an effective screener. I have no idea if our bigs ever got any better at it, but early in the year, their picks were piss poor. They'd run in for the high-screen and roll and barely screen only to immediately start into a roll that noone gave a fuck about because none of them could score anyways. It's no wonder we stopped running it at points in the game. I can't imagine how effective Baby T could be with actual screens at the top of the key to create space with. I won't doubt Seabron and his ability to add facets to his game, but if he can't develop a shot and we don't have a decent PG who can run the offense, we are fucked next year even if he is back.[Edited on March 11, 2022 at 9:51 AM. 3/11/2022 9:51:33 AM
Yeah the hope would be Seabron develops a shot and some court vision. And that Bates takes some off his plate offensively. Either way we need a shooter for sure.
3/11/2022 10:02:40 AM
Seabron improved leaps and bounds over last season, can only hope that continues into next year
3/11/2022 10:08:00 AM
Personally i hope Seabron stays and repeats as most improved player.
3/11/2022 10:16:54 AM
Maybe Hayes will be next season's Most Improved Player if he stays? Or Pass if Hayes leaves?[Edited on March 11, 2022 at 10:20 AM. Reason : ]
3/11/2022 10:20:19 AM
^^ that would be good ^ that would also be good Replacing Seabron with a transfer obviously doesn’t work if that transfer is like Sam Hunt or whatever. Need it be a good player, of course.
3/11/2022 10:27:02 AM
Gibson in that portal....
3/11/2022 2:03:21 PM
He should be easy to replace. Also feels like he played out of position all season. He seems like more of a 4 but was forced into so much time at the 5 due to injuries. He flashed potential but really isn’t an ACC level player.
3/11/2022 2:15:09 PM
If Bates comes back, and with Ebe, Ross and Gantt (likely) coming back, and freshman Phillips coming in, Gibson wouldn't really need to be replaced. Of course, all of that could change very quickly. And it would still be nice to have get another 6'9"+ tranfer on the roster who's good enough to get some minutes.[Edited on March 11, 2022 at 2:22 PM. Reason : ]
3/11/2022 2:22:09 PM
OH NO NOT GIBSONfor real though, good luck to him. will probably develop into a solid player eventually at a smaller school. Just not ready for primetime.
3/11/2022 2:24:57 PM
welp. there's one scholarship open. The guy just wasn't an ACC player. I hope he develops and impacts somewhere.
