I hope VT destroys Clemson next week. I'd rather VT represent the acc in a bcs bowl than clemson.
11/26/2011 10:51:11 PM
I think Clemson's gonna go 0-fer the rest of the season.
11/26/2011 10:52:33 PM
clemson has been figured out...

the polls dont make a lot of sense.Arkansas gets crushed by LSU and alabama, beats 1 team that is currently ranked (South Carloina w/o Lattimore) and squeaks by Texas a&M, vandy, Ole miss and Troy and they are the #6 team in the country, the highest ranked team with 2 losses...........WTF MATE
11/27/2011 5:12:46 PM
i know but don't worry about it.. cant have 3 teams from the same conference in bcs games... arkansas will get what they deserve. probably a solid new years day bowl

11/28/2011 12:36:56 PM
VT-ClemsonWisconsin-MSUPotentially LSU-Alabama.This is the season of the rematch I guess. They should try and set up all the bowls that way. Just go ahead and piss everyone off.
11/28/2011 1:21:35 PM
^^haha, that guys face is priceless
11/28/2011 2:13:43 PM
I really hope UCLA beats Oregon and Georgia beats LSU, so there would be a 7-6 team in the rose bowl and two teams from the same conference, where neither won that conference, in the title game.

when you stack them up side by side, there's no comparisonOkie St has a much better resume than Alabamabama is riding the past perception. for some reason the public doesn't see that the SEC has a whole lot of stink this year

it don't matter who you beat, it's who you lose to. LSU >>>>>>>>>>>>> Iowa State
11/29/2011 1:17:28 PM
OK State vs LSU would be the better game for making money off...Another Alabama/LSU game would not really do much for making money...sure the game would sell out, but OK ST/LSU would be more fun to watch! SJF[Edited on November 29, 2011 at 1:50 PM. Reason : one line initial, it was never there.]
11/29/2011 1:37:17 PM
what an asinine post. Does an exciting game generate more revenue than a boring game when both games are sell-outs?
11/29/2011 1:41:48 PM
OK State fans eat more concessions
11/29/2011 1:45:28 PM
^^I retract the money statement.I should have just said people would care more if it was LSU/OK StI personally dont really care to see two SEC teams go for it in the Nat Title game.I would rather see two teams who havent played each other play each other.as for viewers on TV, OK State vs LSU would bring in a better more diverse audience.money arguement was dumb on my part. ill take that.[Edited on November 29, 2011 at 1:49 PM. Is it? How many head football coaches have been greatly successful at THREE different schools. I can only think of Bear Bryant (led 3 different schools to conference championships) off the top of my head and is Urban Meyer really in the Bear Bryant stratum of coaching legends?/I guess we'll find out.
11/29/2011 4:07:45 PM
Saban had a few OK years at MSU then national titles at LSU and Alabama
11/29/2011 4:10:46 PM
Nick Sabandangit, beat outtechnically Spurrier hasnt done horrible either. depends really on your definition of success.[Edited on November 29, 2011 at 4:13 PM. Reason : g]
11/29/2011 4:12:02 PM
Ok, that's two. He did win a conference championship at Toledo and after three years got MSU to 9-2.Bryant, Saban... we're still not exactly talking about a common occurrence.^ I'm sorta arbitrarily defining it as conference championships (since there was no BCS game measurement until recently). Spurrier still hasn't gotten SC over the hump to win the SEC, but he's done a lot of good there.[Edited on November 29, 2011 at 4:17 PM. Reason : .]
11/29/2011 4:15:01 PM
Im sure if more coaches whored themselves around like Saban and Meyer, i'd be alot more common. Most get a top job and stay there.

http://www.everydayshouldbesaturday.com/2011/11/30/2600347/someone-is-paying-people-to-fill-seats-at-a-large-athletic-event-inLooks like the B1G is having trouble putting butts in the seats in Indianapolis. It's not that surprising I guess. The MSU and Wisconsin don't have the draw of teams like OSU, Michigan, or even Penn State.Especially since it's a rematch, although that's probably a non factor because it's a rematch of a game that was decided at the last second.I assume the ACC has done something similar to this in the past and failed, I wonder if the B1G will have better luck with the attempt.

11/30/2011 2:16:24 PM
you realize that Arkansas only got to #3 because human voters saw a 1-loss SEC team and just assumed they were good, right?bee tee dubs part deux - Arkansas is #8 in the BCS; K State is #11. Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyy better And if my life is on it? I'm sure as shit not putting my life on a team that already LOST to the opponent they're going to face AT HOME. Why the fuck would I bet on Bama to beat LSU when they couldn't do it in ideal circumstances?[Edited on November 30, 2011 at 2:28 PM. Reason : ..]

^^that's what the acc gets for having champ games in Jacksonville....Lesson learned
11/30/2011 2:38:12 PM
I see you conveniently didn't address why your national championship contender lost to Iowa State. All I can tell you is that I'm sure as shit the 2nd best team in America didn't lose to a 6-5 garbage team.Okie State had their chance and blew it.
11/30/2011 2:42:02 PM
In that case, Houston deserves to be in the National Championship game. After all, everyone else has blown their chances to do all they can do. most of the SEC is for shit this year. To call an arkansas win significantly greater than K State is bullshit.[Edited on November 30, 2011 at 3:06 PM. Reason : .]
11/30/2011 2:48:36 PM
a stupid system breeds stupid arguments
11/30/2011 3:14:04 PM
Is a teams worth based on how they play at their best or how they play at their worst?
11/30/2011 3:14:45 PM
or how high they're ranked before they even play a game and how early in the season they lose?
11/30/2011 3:18:14 PM
In this system it's both. Their worth is SUPPOSED TO BE determined by their overall play throughout the season.Ignoring Stanford and VT for a moment. Here's how OSU and Ala stack up so far (only using pergame stats where available because OSU still has yet to play a game while Bama's regular season is finished). Obviously this is biased towards the stats I care about during a game.YPG - OSU #3, Bama #32PPG - OSU #2, Bama #17Time of Possession - OSU #114, Bama #13 (not as good of an indicator since OSU is a big play offense and those naturally have lowered ToPs)Total Defense - OSU #107, Bama #1Scoring Defense - OSU #64 , Bama #1Sacks - OSU #39 Bama #39 (NC State #11 )Turnover Margin - OSU #2, #26SOS (using Sagarin's SOS here) - OSU #8, Bama #23If these teams played each other for a chance at LSU (assuming LSU wins Satuday ) I can't help but think that OSU would get squashed. Bama has a solid offense (not great, just solid) and great D while OSU has a great offense and lousy D (possibly because they're freaking exhausted after spending so much time on the field). But that doesn't mean a damned thing, of course. I don't even think OSU is going to make it past Oklahoma, at which point this becomes Bama versus Stanford or VT and I'm not sure you could really make an argument in favor of either of those two teams jumping Bama this late in the season.[Edited on November 30, 2011 at 3:35 PM. I just hope LSU somehow loses a game and Houston wins their BCS bowl so we can tell the only team that didn't lose a game this year... sorry tough luck.
