Look wraith. I said I learned something and I said she had nice tits. I mean. She has a bright pink crazy haircut. How the fuck are we not supposed to mention it??I'd like to have a few drinks with her. She's rare. A hot chick that's funny and looks good with tats and crazy hair. Not too many girls can pull that off.

Is this show any good? I have never watched it? Is it better than Mad Men at its prime?
3/29/2013 10:52:56 PM
You wouldn't like it. Too many white people and like one black dude.
3/29/2013 11:02:15 PM
Well, for fucks sake, Only one black dude showed up in Othello and I loved that!
3/30/2013 1:29:08 AM

3/31/2013 7:37:20 PM
we made a medieval pork pieit was a little sweet, but pretty good
3/31/2013 7:40:38 PM
the book is in sections by geography so i think i'll do a different area each week. starting with the wall!
3/31/2013 7:42:44 PM
Uhh.. no it isn't? Books 4 and 5 are sections of geography covering nearly the same time period with south/west and east/north. But they still adhere to the same standard of each chapter being a character with plenty of location jumping. I would expect each episode to cover 5-6 characters just as the show has been doing to this point. And once they start with books 4-5 content I would expect them to just follow the timeline for the most part.
3/31/2013 7:55:38 PM
she meant the cook book, I'm sure
3/31/2013 8:04:08 PM

3/31/2013 8:21:32 PM
Wow. Thanks for the heads up. Almost blew that one
3/31/2013 8:29:07 PM
Well, it's on again right now so you wouldn't have missed it.
3/31/2013 10:02:00 PM
The dragon scene was awesome, meeting the king beyond the wall was fun, and Tywin's speech to Tyrion was devastating. I was disappointed with the lack of Arya especially since they played up her and the faceless man in the previously on segment.
3/31/2013 10:48:07 PM
The scene with the Unsullied was about as dissapointing as anything so far to me. Very underwhelming. And why bother changing the puppies thing to babies. Having to kill a companion is much more devastating that killing some newborn while under the protection of your master more or less.

not a great premiere imo, but it had its moments. i liked the scene where jon is introduced to mance rayder and both of tyrion's scenes.disappointed that they cut out the arstan whitebeard plotline entirely, but i absolutely understand why and am glad barristan selmy is back.
4/1/2013 1:37:02 AM
I wonder if by page 100 we will finally get people not comparing every scene to the books? Was great to me, who is still unspoiled somehow.
4/1/2013 7:54:17 AM
yeah, i'm going to bring this up again that this thread is strictly for the show. If you want to gripe or compare and contrast with the book please do it in the thread linked a few posts above.I will dump posts that lead this thread off it's intended path]

I'm still confused on who the people are beyond the wall...wildlings?? Can someone give a brief description of who they are and their purpose..I assume they are people who are rebels and wanted to form their own clique
4/1/2013 4:42:24 PM
^i started a response, but just read thishttp://awoiaf.westeros.org/index.php/Wildlings

Kind of a weak season opener, but there was a lot of stuff to cover. Probably would have been better as a 2 hour season premiere, could have gotten more into Dany in Astapor or more of Mance Rayder (love the casting on that one btw).
4/1/2013 11:42:19 PM
that's opinion not based solely on the show, it has to go in the comparisons thread:http://www.brentroad.com/message_topic.aspx?topic=635904to be safe, just use it for any discussion related to any part of game of thrones

Oh shit, I just realized the guy playing Mance Raydar is the same guy who played Caesar in Rome a few years ago. I loved Rome.
